I'm gonna give my evidence on why I think SIVA may be a variation of the vex.
1st, During the reveal stream today, Bungie said that the plague was literally eating away at the ground and planet. We know the vex do this like they did to Mercury.
2nd, we know golden age scientists studied some vex ruins. Could t be possible that they used some sort of vex robot as a basis for the SIVA program?
3rd, the enemy mechanics. I saw how the splicer fallen acted and it shocked me.
Solar weapons. Void shields. Even the fact they're building things. It's very similar to how the vex operate.
4th, we know SIVA betrayed humanity and the iron lords died trying seal it away. I get the feeling they knew something we didn't. Why would the iron lords attack SIVA and not something like the hive or the fallen?
5th, Rasputin. He's been dodging us at every turn, trying to bring stuff back online. He crippled the traveler. In fact in the mission where the hive tried to kill him, he had multiple pictures of the ex and the planets they were currently on, Mars and Venus. Why? Is he considered some sort of friend to the vex? Maybe a god? In the dust palace strike, we see the vex worshipping the machine that was holding Rasputin. But he's a Warmind. And so was SIVA. Maybe that's why the vex "like" Rasputin
NervousHeroC4 made a interesting point!
They also mentioned that SIVA was created during the golden age. What if SIVA was mankind a attempt to copy the vex? Just gonna let that sit for a moment.

I believe that SIVA was an attempt by mankind to create a powerful AI that can stand up to the vex. Another theory I have is that SIVA was an attempt to create a super-intelligent AI to devise a plan to take back the universe. So, all in all, it might be based off the vex, but personally, i believe that the vex were just the seed of the idea for SIVA.
That's all I have. If you have something to contribute please don't hesitate to say so!

12 RepliesYou know between the SIVA, the existence of the Warminds, the simulated human minds uploaded into the Vex systems, and time travel...I think that you're going to find that WE created the Vex in the far future and the Vex control of time created the things they needed to start existing in the first place through us. The Vex are an ontological paradox.

4 RepliesWhat if SIVA means Superior Intelligent Artificial Virus?

1 ReplyI thought the AI on Mars was Charlemagne.
-
2 RepliesSound good but at the end of the day I think it's the traveler who is bad and every one is out to stop him then we will have to go back it the volt of glass travel back in time and stop it from ever happening cut to credits the end
-
Dunno if this was presented yet, but since they Vex are capable of time travel, maybe SIVA was planted by the Vex in the Golden Age.
-
1 ReplySiva solved the time travel problem, travelled back in time, created the vex.
-
1 ReplyWhat if the Iron Lords control SIVA
-
The Vex look very different though, they don't rely on wires as SIVA does but rather solid blocks of whatever that metal is we see all over venus
-
Siva is a golden age invention with no ties to the vex

2 RepliesEdited by Traeth: 7/23/2016 1:33:24 AMI think that SIVA was an attempt to duplicate the Vex's ability to simulate endless possibilities. Not only this, but I believe they tried to integrate SIVA with a warmind, which would explain why SIVA is beneath the ground as well as the structure where it is found resembles the style of Rasputin and its layer.
Thoughts?
3 RepliesSo the warming that you mentioned on Mars is not Rasputin by a different warming. Many planets had different war minds that were in control. Rasputin is not the only one.

Another one of my thoughs on SIVA S.evered I.nteral V.irus A.ssignment?

I read a theory that the SIVAed fallen eventually turn into Vex and the Vex can time travel so kind of makes sense.

2 Repliesit nanotech so your right that it probably vex technology.

Edited by milesi564: 7/22/2016 10:55:25 AMI think that siva is the first evolution of the vex. We copied the vex but it started to evolve. Becoming organic and when crota let them in our dimension they tried to make sure there creation happens. But this is unlikely. I see that if we don't stop the siva outbreak the vex will continue to exist. I believe we won't completely stop siva after the raid but we will think we have in the game
-
Makes sense. The SIva is the early signs of the vex trying to come to Earth but we decided to fiddle with it.
-
I think SIVA is the reason the vex haven't come to earth yet. This also holds ramifications for destroying SIVA. Will the vex come to earth once we kill Siva?
-
11 RepliesSiva is likely a meld of golden age warmind and vex technology, or at least the result of one of the warminds achieving self sentience after coming into contact and better understanding the vex pattern and their tech.
-
Imagine you're killing the raid's final boss and it's a Fallen. Then in the middle of the fight a Atheon consumes it in the best fashion, like "you disappointed me, peasant" and then you'll know you're fuked.

So, the Vex were brought to our universe by Crota. The Vex got close to simulating Oryx but couldn't quite do so and learned behaviors such as destroying other races to assume dominance and become more powerful as a result just as the Hive did. What if SIVA is a Vex simulation of "Taking" other races just as Oryx did? Just an idea.

6 RepliesEdited by x Third x: 7/22/2016 4:38:47 AMDisclaimer: This is a random thought, not checked with grimoire info, etc... I see the Vex as humanity's creation in an attempt to fight the darkness. No Vex on Earth because humans were smart enough to know that if things went bad they wouldn't want an advanced army of sentient machines close by. Sure as shit, the Vex went all Skynet on us and went beyond protection/preservation of humanity and went into perfection of the species instead. SIVA is essentially the Vex connection on Earth and the Iron Lords did their thing to avoid the Vex coming home to protect their mama bear and wiping us out. Edit: Also I have a hunch we're going to revisit The Vault of Glass during this expansion. Not as a raid per se but in some new context.
