Until they get Miller away from this I'm going to be ridiculously critical of the writing team.
-
Your upset with miller stems from his portrayal of Superman. But face it, despite what you think of the fight's outcome he made a good, believable hostility behind the two
-
He had absolutely no issues with stripping down Superman's character to the bone and turning him into a plot device punching bag for the Bat God. That's our gripe with this decision.
-
You don't know his role in writing the story, and you also need to remember that Superman's character has already been set, I doubt he'll be stripped down like in Returns. He most likely has been brought in to set up a reasonable conflict between the two (outside of fighting anyway) which we can tell is going to happen "I hate you, we have to work together, I like you"
-
Edited by Madman Mordo: 8/27/2013 1:46:23 PMThe fact that Snyder has no control over the direction of the movie (apparently he has to go through with what WB want) and that he also participated in a meeting with Miller, worries me. The production of this movie stinks of "we're going to copy Marvel's movie formula for $$$. F*ck respecting the main source material".
-
Now that's just a conclusion. Just because he has to follow WB's directions doesn't mean he has no control. And what if Batman does win in a fight, but in a believeable manner. Combination of kryptonite and intelligence
Now that's just a conclusion. Just because he has to follow WB's directions doesn't mean he has no control.
Um, what? That's blatant confirmation for him having very limited jurisdiction over the film. If WB want to turn Batman into Bat God, then has to follow through with that. That's how it works.
And what if Batman does win in a fight, but in a believeable manner. Combination of kryptonite and intelligence
That's still not believable. Believable would be him surprising or getting the better of Superman, and even then that's a bit of a stretch.
-
What do you think intelligence would be? Getting the jump on it, messing with Superman before the fight begins. That's practically Batman's forte.
-
Edited by Madman Mordo: 8/27/2013 1:58:46 PMBut that's not a viable win. That's just a casual annoyance at best.
-
So Batman gets the jump on him, Gets superman on his knees through whatever means, kryptonite or whatever, and Batman gives a verbal bat bitch slap. But then you'd say it's not a viable win or whatever. Because that's what you do.
-
But it's not? Sorry if this is causing you butt devastation by the looks of it, but it's certainly not a viable or realistic win. That premise is grounded on the basis of Batman harming Superman. Completely out of the question.
-
Did I say jumping on him and beating the shit out of him? No, I said the combination of intelligence and kryptonite.
-
Edited by Madman Mordo: 8/27/2013 2:11:01 PMYou said brought to his knees "or whatever". That kind of implies physical combat via the inconsistent plot device rock.
-
Kryptonite. Not even once.
-
Edited by Madman Mordo: 8/27/2013 2:18:48 PM
via the inconsistent plot device rock.
It's quite funny how the effects magically amplify whenever Batman bust out Kryptonite. I mean, Metallo and Kryptonite man never seem to produce such effects despite being literally composed of Kryptonite.
-
Different atmospherical effects -blam!-ed superman and Zod up, it's not too far fetched for kryptonite to work to a similar degree
-
Yeah and we all remember the World Engine scene don't we?
-
Gonna have to be more specific. And Zod was messed up so bad he had to be evacuated
-
His portrayal and the fight's outcome have nothing to do with each other.
-
I know, but it's two things you're upset about with Returns
-
Not necessarily. The outcome of the fight was sorta -_- but if it was something like in Hush or whatnot I'd still be able to like it. This just blatantly disrespects Supes' character.
-
Well the outcome is kinda realistic, I mean he did just inhale a ton of kryptonite. His sole weakness in his bloodstream isn't exactly going to be healthy
-
My irrelevance detector is off the scale
-
I was talking about your reaction to the outcome.
-
Which is... irrelevant? But okay, the outcome was still bullsh1t. Okay then Supes. No need for using your X-Ray vision until you actually look at Bruce's heart right? KK.
