Currently in trials there is 2 matchmaking pools.
One of them is challenger pool. To be in the challenger pool you must have a card with no losses and it will match you with players based on connection only.
The other match making pool is practice pool. To be in practice pool you must have a card with a loss. Practice pool will match you with players who have similar stats for that week of trials.
As far as loot goes i completely agree there should be more loot in trials. Imo it doesn't even have to be trials loot even world loot would satisfy me considering you cant get umbral engrams anymore.

To be real I don't feel like a practice pool exists since I have been repeatedly getting flawless x9 player who have gone flawless this week so I don't bungie may have said about practice pool but doesn't looks like it works
-
After you have been in que for a bit it starts loosening the parameters to find a game faster.
-
So it basically discourages players from getting flawless if they have been trying for 5+ hours by giving them -blam!- matches! Thanks for the info
-
um no....I just looked at your stats and you're pretty new. It took me about 200 games to get my first flawless even though i had over a 2.0 in all the other game modes. It just takes practice and situational awareness. Maybe try to get a lil better in control and when you're feeling confident try to play trials again and make sure your card has a red x at the bottom and you will be more likely to match against players closer to your skill level for practice. If you're serious about wanting to get better feel free to add me and id be willing to help.

Edited by the gamiac: 7/24/2023 11:48:25 AMI wish bungie would just add an sbmm matchmaking till you get your first flawless of the week than practice pools to be true
-
No that would be a very bad idea. Sbmm if perfected is a 50% win rate for everyone. so everyone would have to play hundreds of games to go flawless xD. The chances are very very slim
-
Edited by the gamiac: 7/24/2023 12:02:19 PMMy chances seem much slimmer with cbmm though also sbmm based on win rate should be deleted from the game rather a kd based or reaction time based sbmm would be better than win rate one a true sbmm to say what bungie says sbmm is sometimes a goof ball case in comp I have seen player much above my kd playing against because they dunked their previous matches sbmm based on win rate is the problem for mid tier pros or say better than average players since them they keep getting either easy games or curb stomping games
-
sbmm isnt based on win rate. But if the playing field was even like in a perfect sbmm system everyone would have about a 50% win rate.
-
It's better than matches where you have less than 50% chances of winning though
-
That’s because you’re trash at the game though. Statistically what you want would never work. You would be more likely to go flawless at your current skill level than what you are proposing.
-
I don't wanna go flawless but I at least want to enjoy the trials matches my kd is not so low because I am extreme trash but because of the solo que+getting actual good enemies that are much much better than me since trials isn't free shouldn't i be able to enjoy at least if I bought this expansion for the same price as beyond light or forsaken I would care less about trials since I paid more money not playing an dlc exclusive game mode seems as a waste you know
-
Your kd is garbage in the sbmm gamemodes as well. This is legit just a case of get gud
-
Edited by the gamiac: 7/24/2023 12:21:25 PMTrue as for the get gud I would if the rewards for climbing the path would be better like 1 trials engram per 3 kills or objective captured like that
-
Nah Fr the trials loot is trash. You barely get anything
-
But at least getting engrams to focus when something good appears would be too good for bungie to even think about
