So, basically....you make everything up as you go, but pass it off as factual. Got it. Thanks for airing what we all already knew about you.

I wouldn't say he makes everything up, but he does stretch things out really thin 😂

This poor sod has changed his account and made new ones so many times he is a walking caricature on the forums.

And then mute/block the individuals that disagree with you. A great way for them to live in their own little fantasy world.

That and people like that report others all the time too. It's all a game for attention.

This site has literally made up bungie saying eververse funds free content and can’t give 1 example of them saying exactly that. Yet here they are, pretending they know that’s what it said.

The Zero Hour mission was funded by skins sold for Whisper of the Worm in EV. But that was from before the split with Activision, and before the monetization of the game moved to a more MMO-like model.

Maybe I'm misreading what you wrote, but Bungie absolutely said EV is for funding free future content and events. I believe they said that during the Dark Below and just before the launch of House of Wolves. I dont care enough to go find it. Yes, I realize that was years ago (late 2014 or early 2015), and yes I realize that was technically for a different game entirely. But it doesn't change the fact that they said it and have never said anything to change our expectations ever since. Honestly, I'm aloof regarding the whole thing. Sure seems like the cost to play D2 has gone up precipitously recently but as long as the content is worthwhile, I'll purchase after I see the reviews. Cheers!

They said it was to fund live content. Not free content. They’ve literally never said free content. Eververse was added a month after Taken King. Here’s the quote from the announcement, which came out October 5th 2015, almost a month into TTK: “Our plan is to use these new items to bolster the service provided by our live team for another full year, as they grow and create more robust and engaging events that we’ll announce later this year. It has been, and continues to be, our goal to deliver updates to the game. Going forward, our live team is also looking to grow beyond vital updates and improvements to focus on world events, experiences, and feature requests.” Source: https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/13672 Nothing about free content. The community has just worked that into their narrative of things to be upset about. It’s also worth noting it was only suppose to support live content for the next year (aka the April update and AoT) The only real issue I have with the increase in price is how it effects other players in countries. It’s $100 for me in the US but in Canada it’s like 130 and like 150 in Australia. That seems dumb to me but I also know that I don’t know enough about currency exchange to speak on the subject.
-
Because you are dealing with a segment of the community that feels it shouldn’t have to support a game like this financially. They want the game, but are unwilling to pay the fair market price for what they’re getting.

Yeah, you're right. While I think they're playing a game of semantics with how they said that back then, you're technically correct. A corporation like Bungie would never outrigjt promise anything for free to anyone at anytime. Thats just bad business. But we all knew back then that it was the live team working on free updates (bug fixes, sandbox changes, etc.) and free events like FotL, Dawning & MoT. All I'm saying is while you're technically correct, I can honestly see why that narrative is out there. Bungie (may have) inferred it without actually saying it. Maybe. Plus I think at one point, while accepting our praise for the whisper mission, they made a comment about EV funding work on free missions like whisper. Can't remember exactly though, I could be wrong. You might know what they said then, since it seems you've been down this road before dispelling this narrative. And finally, yeah, itd be great if Bungie could find a way to soften the blow to our non American friends. It's a shame it works out the way it does. I remember seeing those complaints for the last few Comet Expansions. Not sure how they'd correct it tho. Good chat!

No successful business ever gives anything away for free. Every thing they do is geared towards making money and a profit
