He's only doing it so you don't get suspended from posting on the forums. He means well. Try not to be a dick to people that are helping you out. You must be forgetting about Bungie's "Name and Shame" policy, which is what he's referring to & what you're doing right now by mentioning the guys gamer tag in your post. If you're that upset about some whiny kid messaging you stuff like that during a match then report him to Bungie for being "unfriendly". Again, posting the guy's name on here will get you suspended or banned from the forum.

  • By saying "now" I don't think he's helping me out. I'm not being dick I don't think, I just don't agree with people telling me how to play this game or what to say in the forums that's all. I let other people say whatever they want it's called an opinion some of us might have forgotten that we all have one. Just like your basically me a dick right now. Thanks for that.

  • They are trying to help you out though. Their giving you a warning that if you dont remove the name then you will be suspended from the forums. If you dont want to though thats fine its your choice.

  • I can understand that alot of people on the forums can seem to be bossy. Gets to me a bit too. They mean well but its very blunt. It is lame though that people act that way online with the "quit the match" talk. I think we have all gone through something like that atleast once. In that sort of situation I tend to intentionally begin to do worse. They say Im bad so Ill play bad and then they have no choice but to blame themselves. I then search their name and report them if it gets really out of hand.

  • Bottom line here is you're both being rude in your own way that's all I'm saying. By all means have you're opinions on whatever you want I'm all for that but there are rules on the forum one of them being "name and shame". Even if people are being over competitive brats in the game it doesn't give you the right to come on a public forum and out them for being that way by giving their name out. People don't have a right to just out others because of hurt feelings. Bungie has a system in place (it may not be the best system but it's there). If you don't like something that's happening in game with a player use Bungie's reporting tool either in game or there is one somewhere in the help section. You want to tell your story on here about how someone upset you, fine whatever, do it, just don't mention their name.

  • He isn't kidding. There are forum Ninjas. They are moderators who never post and you never even know they are there until you cross the line.

  • I know moderators are out there, I just don't think telling the truth about an incident that is game related warrants a ban but I don't make that decision. If it's not written in the code of conduct then it would be hard to enforce. I mean they can do it anyways I guess and give no reason but then why have a code of conduct for everyone to follow? Sometimes the truth hurts and sometimes people need to be pointed out for their actions in game and take responsibility for them. I throw myself at the mercy of the court. hahaha

  • When you name and shame they send you a generic warning saying you violated the code of conduct and send you a link to the rules page. If you repeat the offense they can ban you. They are pretty tolerant here (obviously,by the toxicity you see around here) but what these guys are telling you is what they know from experience (as do I) It's not permitted. If you are insulting a streamer based on a video the streamer posted, that is different (public domain) If you post random jo blow's gamer tag and ridicule him in a topic he has no knowledge of,not only is that against the policy,it's just a dick move. Keep it generic... "Some rando" or "this guy yesterday" is fine.

  • Once again show me that in the code of conduct. I want to see it please. I will gladly remove him if someone can show me this document pertaining to using gamertags which are public knowledge. What I find funny is that no one in this whole topic really directly agreed with me that he should be called out for saying stuff that was offensive and a personal attack on me but yet everyone is quick to point out and criticize me that I should abide by some unwritten policy that apparently is common knowledge that I don't know about in regards to gamertags. I think anyone who calls someone "useless" online or real life should have to answer for it in someway. I'm sure he will continue to do it until he is called out. Maybe this is that moment.

  • Whatever, man. I'm done with you. The moderators won't explain it either. If you are too stuid to figure out that naming and shaming is a combination of violation of privacy and insults, then i can't (and frankly don't want). To help you. You. Are a dick. And you are now muted. That is how i deal with muleheaded morons. This is a private forum with public access, like a restaurant or a gas station. They can and will refuse service.

Here is the Forums Policy: Stuff That Rocks Treating everyone with respect. Making online friends. Talking about stuff you're interested in. Sharing the cool stuff you create. Planning time to play with cool people. Creating and Joining Private Groups. Taking responsibility for your own actions. Stuff That Sucks Personal attacks, harassment, or violations of privacy. Disrespect for any reason: race, creed, gender, orientation, or disability. Depiction or description of gory violence or explicit sexuality. Breaking the law, plotting, or describing illegal activities. Spoiling games with hacks, cheats, or unreleased story details. Distributing unauthorized, copyrighted, or trademarked material. Soliciting, plagiarism, phishing, or impersonating other users. Nothing in here says you cannot use gamertags. If you find this name policy show it to me. PLZ I do like the part about "Taking responsibility for your own actions." gamertags are public knowledge not invasion of privacy

  • Where exactly? if you think it might be personal attack, it's simply an account of what happened. That's not an attack it's called the truth. I'm not harassing him by sending him messages etc etc. Gamertags are public knowledge so it's not a privacy thing.
