It only happens to me when I need other players. When I don't want other players, they swarm like mosquitoes.
Attempting vex invasion bosses: No teammates for miles.
Attempting heroic public event on the Tangled Shore: 10 randoms destroy the boss in 5 seconds. 😑

if you keep changing spawn zones you can do PE on tangled shore every 2 min... spider one / the hive one / fast travel back to start and go up in the elevator to next event / the fast travel to cabal zone / repeat... or if you open chest and fast travel again to the same area you sometimes get the same event (if you melt in one instance and ppl are going heroic on another you will be able to get the second for free)

Dear Lord my Flashpoint took longer than it EVER has this week due to people just melting the boss and not making it heroic. Longer than when people keep starting Escalation protocol on mars and longer than when it’s on Mercury. It was ridiculously frustrating. And yes I was still farming lost sectors in between

The problem with pubs on the Tangled shore is its quicker to blitz them for a single ghost shard and move on then spend the time to make it heroic, they need to drop 3 or 4 ghost shards to make it worth the time for the heroic, I’m sure I’ve seen a post about this before, I’d bet my house that public events elsewhere are overwhelming completed heroic and the opposite is true for the Tangled shore.

Not really. People just don't take into account the time it takes for the boss to come out of the pod, the time it takes to find and wait for a public event, and the speed at which you can capture the zone with lots of people. Doing the heroic version is technically more efficient, even if it's slight.

In the time it takes to turn a PE heroic and finish it on TS, you can run a lost sector twice, or more if you're into that. Add in the time spent waiting for the event to spawn in (in which time i'm patrolling and lost sectoring anyway) and the heroic efficiency drops waaay down. I don't know the actual numbers of the top of my head but I suspect that burning the PE and heading off to do other things between is well more efficient. Don't get me wrong, I won't burn a PE until I find out if anyone it trying to make it heroic, in which case I will help, but the amount of other activities I can cram in the same time probably makes up for the difference.

It doesn't even take that long if everyone stands on the point. Its capture progress is faster with more players.

You’re expecting an awful lot from your fellow guardians there tbh, don’t get me wrong I’m guilty of it myself though in the couple of cases I’ve done it, I’ve apologised and offered to help the offended party to get it done, realistically though I still believe that time is the issue, plus that in the run up to Shadowkeep people would’ve running the shore for ghost shards to do the spider bounties for cores so that would’ve compounded the issue, not that it didn’t happen before but it certainly would’ve been noticeably worse the last couple of months.
