I posted about this before but the post received no traction unfortunately. I’m the only one in my patrol sessions a super majority of the time (like 90-95% of the time). This problem is persistent and excessive. It’s been going on a long time now but I’m only posting about it recently because of the Vex Public Events on the moon requiring more than one player, at least for now. It’s not all the time but a super majority of the time. My time and date is accurate in my PS4 and I live in a major US city. There’s no excuse for me to be on the moon this early into a new expansion and be by myself in patrol sessions. Bungie, you or one of your reps must look into this. Please!

Same happened to me first time on the moon. Had about 6 players, then was alone for 45min. Couldn't believe it. I was like, 'wow is, there really no one playing this game'?
-
1 Replycan we get a marker for vex invasions that lights up when they are present? the markers are already there, just make them count down and light up like public events. No one wants to waste an 1hr waiting and driving around on the moon hoping to get one. Then only being able to solo it, because no one else knows the event is there.

join my clan, you won't be alone during patrols. https://www.bungie.net/en/ClanV2/Chat?groupId=3624008

15 RepliesIt only happens to me when I need other players. When I don't want other players, they swarm like mosquitoes. Attempting vex invasion bosses: No teammates for miles. Attempting heroic public event on the Tangled Shore: 10 randoms destroy the boss in 5 seconds. 😑
-
The vex offensives drop on a time frame I believe, I see then solo often.
-
Something is wrong with patrol matchmaking no doubt.
-
And the best part is, u load into mars or even Mercury there is 1-2 players. But the moon. As empty as it is in real life
-
No one's playing this.
-
Better pole would how many people bought shadowkeep
-
I remember that my friends and I would go into the dreadnaught court of oryx solo and wait around to invite randoms into our party so that we could get 8+ people on it. It was kinda like we had to exploit the game to get as many as we could on a server. They should definitely address this because it has always been an issue
-
Initially, I voted 75% of the time. Last night the moon was absolutely packed for me. 3+ people in every zone doing patrols, public events, and invasions. It was a pleasant surprise.
-
I absolutely despise these "do public events because chores" bs bounties. I hate grind with a passion. I hate that there was some grind on the moon just to get through the campaign. If not, I wouldn't have even done those. Maybe they should split up the game. Destiny (just campaigns and adventures, like Gears and Borderlands), and Destiny Grind (with addict grind chores for the world of warcrafters like datto).

I agree with this and on an unrelated topic, the AI of the enemies on the moon seems really poor. Often I come into zones and the enemies are not aware of my presence until I'm nearly in their face. Never noticed it as badly as it appears to be on the moon.
-
2 RepliesSeems specific to the moon for me; patrol zones are always empty. I was doing my weekly on Tangled Shore last night and public events were jam packed with guardians.
-
Yep, moon is just barren for me. The night the Vex offence launched I rode around the moon for an hour looking for the Invasions. I saw 3 other guardians in that hour and that was on launch so I assume everyone was doing it but my moon was pretty much empty. *Will try the slow approach and see if that helps instead of just blasting around.
-
I have been seeing a lot of phasing in zones. Players just disappear as well as enemies. Ogres spawn in sorrow just to randomly despawn in like ten seconds. Same with the dropship enemies. It's really weird.

Looking for group patrol The moon 😂👍
-
I had to abandon the last two attempts at the bullet-sponge Hydra because the other 5 blueberries left the area after taking down the minotaur!
-
Going to be honest. I think that bungie should, instead of whatever matchmaking they have now, they should check the connection, make 5 tiers, then put you into the most full game within that tier of connection(that way you don’t get a bunch of laggy players) Don’t make a new instance, unless you have all full instances
i think they could also double the instance size and keep doing what is going on now. I think that there isn’t an issue, but there are more guardians that should be in the tower than we see actually at the tower.(the moon seems empty though yes)
1 ReplyIts got to be some kind of server or technical problem because I have never seen it. There are people all over the place.
-
1 ReplyHappens to me on the moon every time, but there are plenty of people on other planets.
-
perhaps something to do with your network settings ? i never have this problem
-
My problem isnt players. They are there. All zooming around and not getting involved.
-
1 ReplyDon't know why, but I know how you might be able to fix it. Walking slowly between zones gives the game more time to find a populated instance, which might help.
-
I'm betting that this is a server capacity issue. The matching doesn't work as well when the system is under heavy load and there are so many requests coming through on the same areas. Give them 2 weeks to patch and to have the systems learn from the activity and it will smooth out.

1 ReplyThey want you to tell your friends to play destiny. They have no respect for the solo player now
