Its not the same. Dirty secret if the scoring is the same as the beta - which it appears to be: D2 uses the K+A/D metric, meaning that your score is a compilation of kills AND assists, a nod to the team-oriented nature of the game.
That's not even close to the same as K/D in D1 where kills and assists were assessed separately.

I'm fully aware that it now uses KAD. Its blatantly obvious and pretty basic common knowledge at this point. It certainly makes the scores look inflated when at the end it says I got 40 some odd kills. That said when my typical D1 scores were in the twenties and I know I didn't kill 40+ people that must mean that 20+ of those were my kills and the others were assists. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. lol
