Why are people shitting on this ? This is a good thing ,why are there so many pig headed people on this forum If they don’t like the game then like ...what are they doing here ?
-
I got 4 players to join destiny. 2 more are coming over from PC And I got a couple more wanting to buy the game. They see me play it and think destiny looks like a lot of fun

Seems a bit odd that there would be such a dramatic spike like this all of a sudden, even allowing for the new season. Had been running at a steady 650k PvE and 250-300k PvP until recently. I wonder are they double counting menagerie or something? This happened with crucible and gambit, hence the PvP figure on Destiny Tracker is way off. Even at that, I don’t think these figures are much to shout about even if they are accurate. For context, there were 941,000 tracked PvE players on 16th June 2018. Kinda kills the “Year 2 was a triumph and saved the franchise” narrative. Forsaken had 2.6 million tracked PvE players at launch. It’s nice for Bungie that some of the sites are still willing to give them good press in advance of their next paid content launch, but I’m not convinced that there’s really that much substance here at all.
-
they sold 10 million at lunch so....
-
You're excited because the numbers, which always rise at the beginning of a season, have risen to numbers still below those of Forsaken? Nice...
-
All these negative replies. It’s like all this forum wants is to see destiny/bungie fail.
-
Lol! It's not 1 million. Did you get that from destiny tracker? It's not even 500k.
-
Fortnight - 250 million Apex Legends - 50+ million PubG - 50+ million FIFA - 40+ million Black ops 4 - 25+ million Destiny 2 - 1 million.... Errrrrrr
it’ll be interesting to see the figures in September after New light drops
-
Well the annual pass dropping to $15 brought me back for now. 6 months off feel like I haven't missed much.
-
Does this when most seasons start. Except for drifter, because many weren’t into it.
-
14 mil units sold. 1 mil players left....is a good thing ?
-
I started playing again just to see what this new season had to offer. I didn't play at all in Season of the Drifter as I had lost interest. I got about a week/week and half in playing again before I am now putting it back down. It was all the same grind I got sick of a few months ago, no reason to continue when I know where it leads. I'll keep an eye on it, see how the content is updated again in September, look at reviews, etc. In the meantime, I'm getting back into Borderlands and a few other games I've neglected long enough.

Everyone upset about this news are just activision employees tasked with -blam!- about their lost property.
-
Well 1 cent of a dollar is still...ya know...1 cent.

I understand your point, but let me brake it down for you from a PIPE's viewpoint. An investor does not give an RA (rats ass) about anything else, but the ROI. These people that are increasing numbers most likely already had the season pass and, therefore, are not increasing the profit margin. Fast forward to the future and the free to play saga. This is a clear play off of Fortnite and Apex Legends because the more eyes you have watching the screen the better your odds of getting someone to buy something. If I have 50 million players and I can have 10% spend $10, that is a significant investment into my company. If you see the volume of players increase to 2 million at that time, it really does not matter unless they buy something. NetEase invested $100mil into Bungie, but in the world of high finance $100mil isn't shit. Most investment banks and even the small shops would not touch this because there is no money to be made. Home Depot issued $300mil worth of bonds a few years ago and no one could care less. This being said, I believe the Menagerie is a turning point in Destiny as it is a great opportunity to test matchmaking of a 6 man team. Therefore, not spending resources on a raid that very few will every play. An example is the amount of time of a Youtube video on the new raid versus any of the previous raids. Many have beat the new raid in less than 30 minutes versus that of an hour or multiple hours of previous raids. As an independent corporation, you put your money into your best revenue streams. Give the raiders 5 or 6 steps to get to the end, but give the high majority of players something to come back to. The Menagerie gives players a chance to "pick their poison".
-
Well that good news for bungie, hope numbers gets bigger by September.
-
One Million! Really? What happened to the other six million? I think there's 'only about ten total on the Bergusia Forge. Last night... 1. Spawned into a finished game, where the others had just left... 2. Spawned into a game where I was on my own. Diddled around for a coupla minutes, until it timed out. Just as it did, two player spawned in... 3. Spawned into a game half over, so no Bounties were awarded... 4. Spawned in, and after a minute, two others arrived, and we finished it. This is what happens with only a million suckers... errrr... sorry, I mean players.
-
It'll go down. Shadowkeep looks cool but I'm so burned out on the game idk if I'll purchase or not.
-
Haven't even looked at it.
-
First taste of mini-Raid with match making, great drops, good new selection of weapons. I enjoyed the Menagerie very much. I have difficulty raiding because of time commitments. I can't commit a solid hour or more without interruptions and I wouldn't want to be that guy who constantly AFKs on a group. I wouldn't do that to my team. 10-20 minute group activities are manageable. This season gave players like me a taste of mini raid. I hope to see more like it.
-
I’m just really fat...
-
yea its such a wild idea that actual good content would make people come back to play.. who could have guessed that?
-
It will half come September, people still had cash invested .
-
Cool story. It's a pity that any given game mode is capped at 12 players....
-
Give it time it will dwindle down
