Seems a bit odd that there would be such a dramatic spike like this all of a sudden, even allowing for the new season. Had been running at a steady 650k PvE and 250-300k PvP until recently.
I wonder are they double counting menagerie or something? This happened with crucible and gambit, hence the PvP figure on Destiny Tracker is way off.
Even at that, I don’t think these figures are much to shout about even if they are accurate. For context, there were 941,000 tracked PvE players on 16th June 2018. Kinda kills the “Year 2 was a triumph and saved the franchise” narrative.
Forsaken had 2.6 million tracked PvE players at launch.
It’s nice for Bungie that some of the sites are still willing to give them good press in advance of their next paid content launch, but I’m not convinced that there’s really that much substance here at all.

I wondered the same thing! Numbers hit an all time low then they pulled the numbers completely. A week later the numbers come back and they are legitimately double what they were. All the Destiny players I know don’t even talk about it anymore, much less play it daily.
I wonder are they double counting menagerie or something? This happened with crucible and gambit, hence the PvP figure on Destiny Tracker is way off.
I wouldn't doubt it knowing what they have already doubled down on. It's actually said that DT is putting out a false count.

That true? Or is that just the assumption because Bungo bad?
-
I would say it’s true. Bungie, the new group, has failed to put out quality or quantity but their videos promised just the opposite. People fell for it, in hopes of a better Destiny 2. Little by little, people caught on, got fed up and left.

That's what I thought No proof Just "Bungo bad"

Изменено (d3benway): 6/20/2019 10:33:18 PMHard to know, to be fair there has been a pretty positive reaction to Menagerie that I've seen, but I didn't really think it looked like an overnight 50% bump in player population level positive reaction. But like I say the numbers aren't that impressive even if they're accurate, basically just the same as this time last year which was two months after the launch of Warmind ... and are likely to steadily drop off again if previous seasons were anything to go by. Not sure how much of a good news story this is for Bungie overall.

Well said

The “sites” ever give bad press? I haven’t seen it. Several months ago Tassi promised a monthly remove cores from infusion post. What happened to that was never explained. All the sites do is regurgitate whatever they hear from Bungie. They aren’t reporting anything.
