Prisms, rare chance of a shard, maybe some higher stat armor etc
That way the system stays in place, lower players can verse each other, and if they want to put in the effort and get better to get better loot than why not?

That's what comp & trials are for.

You posted that as a joke right

2 RepliesI respectfully disagree. And I think you might be having a misconception that a lot of high skill players have, which is that the experience you've had against low skill players is universal. But it isnt. Low skill players playing against other players of low skill are having a near identical experience to yours, with meta chaser sweats populating every lobby, quitters all over the place, and very close matches. The only major difference is in wait times, since the low-mid skill playerbase is so much larger. I am a middling skill player. KDA has been holding consistently aroubd the 1.3 mark for the past couple seasons. I could hold my own, but there was always one or two players clearly leagues above me that would run the lobby. Either on my team or the enemy, either way. They'd roll over everyone, and the rest of us would be looking for scraps. That aint fun, nor does it help anybody improve their pvp skills. Since SBMM was implemented though, Ive seen significant improvement. My games have been consistently competative. Of the 25 or so matches Ive played since, only one went to mercy. The rest have been really close, my most reccent even having a rally for my team, closing a 60 point gap and winning the match. The meta chasers are still here, playing like their lives depend on it, the quitters are still here, leaving on their first defeat, but the overall quality of the matches have improved so much. As has my skill. Im not getting laid out every 15 seconds anymore, and Ive felt the room that's given me to improve. Im coming up with sight lines Id ne er thought of before, finally making better use of cover, jumps, ADS vs hipfire, etc etc. And again, every game is really really close. I have to play my best or I dont succeed. Difference is that my best is finally good enough to compete with the eneny team. If you arent enjoying sbmm, there are other playlists to jump into instead thst are still cbmm. Rumble, rift, and I believe survival are all still cbmm, as is trials and soon iron banner. If you want to get away from the high octane competativeness going on in control, you can always hop into one of them.

3 RepliesTalk about low skill looking for free handouts...

No. They've done nothing special.

That’s what trials is for… Upgrade materials and adept pvp weapons… I know trials isn’t available first week, but it’s coming back in two weeks… You will be back to stomping casuals who dare to step into trials like before. Remember… There’s no skill based matchmaking in trials. The only thing I wonder is how many of the casual and low to mid skilled participants will actually attend week 1, or if there won’t be much participation just like last season.

1 ReplyYou're probably talking about trials. There you go.

I’m actually highly ok with this. But me playing “Devil’s advocate” here would want to bring up a few points. How does a player know when they are in a skill bracket that qualifies for higher tier loot? Where would the threshold for better loot be? Also once Bungie opens that gravy train of extra rewards it will be hard for them to take it back if the manage to make the higher tier skill brackets game’s less sweaty. And now for the sillier one; if CBMM comes back do lower skill players get better loot whenever a higher skill player ends up in their lobby as a “thanks for making the higher skill player feel good and dying a bunch.”? Does this work both ways?

4 RepliesAbsolutely agree. If I have to sweat every match, make it with my effort, OR I WALK
-
Agreed.

How’s about bring back CBMM but the better loot goes to the bottom 3 players. Incentive to take the beat downs 😂
-
I wouldn't be against this - anything to stop the whining - I'm so glad I gave up on the Crucible; it's so refreshing to not even care lol.
-
Why not I say. Another suggestion I'd put forward is turn off stat tracking as a viewable thing for players, Bungie can still use it to balance matches but if players aren't worried about being judged for how big their numbers are then we could all just have fun and not be subjected to toxicity that's caused by KD.

Sounds fair to me gm's give better loot for being "Hard", playing better opponents in pvp should result in the same thing. I'll gladly play if gun drops are double or triple perked.

8 Replies“B…b…but it wouldn’t be fair” “I want to get the same stuff the good players get because I play the game too” “Who cares that they are waiting 10 mins to get a game and are having to play like they’re competing for 10,000$ every game” “We deserve the same stuff too” -every person who thinks SBMM is actually a good idea

Prisms, rare chance of a shard, maybe some higher stat armor etc That way the system stays in place, lower players can verse each other, and if they want to put in the effort and get better to get better loot than why not?
Why? Everyone's have an identical experience.

A 1-5x boost towards all loot/progression based on skill bracket (or elo) would make sbmm truly fair.
