As an old man with old man reflexes I've missed the cut and thrust of a good game of control ever since bungie turned off SBMM. I'd personally therefore like to thank bungie for turning it back on again (even in its loose form).
Instead of one sided pub stomps and me struggling to chain two kills together now all matches close, no stomps and i actually stand a chance against other players. Lag better too imo, certainly no worse. I'm actually enjoying/playing PvP again! Thank you, thank you, thank you bungie. PS please don't turn it off again.

20 RepliesPvP is in a very very good state currently and Bungies stats on the new SBMM changes prove it … Games are much more enjoyable and last the full time .. People can actually complete crucible bounties and quests.. The games are far better balanced overall.. But let’s be 100% honest the only ones crying and complaining over this now are the same ones who can’t pubstomp easy kills and easy wins to artificially inflate their KD

1 ReplyThis looks like a troll post, because he is such a low light lvl that he don’t even play destiny 2. take note Bungie.

5 RepliesWhy weren’t you in the Glory playlist? Sbmm, leaver penalties, freelance. You match people in your skill bracket. Why must you ruin it for everyone?
-
Sbmm is hear to stay. Bungie is super happy with sbmm according to the TWAB. Catering Pvp to people like op who don't play pvp is the play. Sbmm will only get stricter and the population will continue to decrease.

8 RepliesDestiny 2 is a game designed to reward bad players. Its one of the few games I've ever seen ENCOURAGE its players to stop playing, (timed content.) PVP has proven that as well. If u have a 1.2 kd or higher you are SOL. What will be the result? Reverse boosting. In droves.

Take a look @ your light lvl let me know, that you dont realy play destiny 2. For what are you posting feedbacks, tchau.

30 RepliesGreat. More participation awards!!!! Why award skill when you can just make all the little Timmy’s feel nice and good inside.

1 ReplyEdited by ISuvy: 9/1/2022 2:28:09 PMi love how every SBMM supporter says "pvp players just want to stomp low skill players" nah we gotta deal with this 24/7. not stomp matches anymore that's fine

I’m fine with it so ya.If I die,then I die -
Edited by Sweet Lew 88: 9/2/2022 6:53:29 PMI never really noticed a difference between cbmm or sbmm. I've always performed well, average or poorly in both arenas. Maybe I have an average skill level and live in a populated area so the matches are basically the same. I'd say change it to reflect the population size. Population rise, sbmm, if low population, cbmm.

3 RepliesI am absolute trash in PvP, and for the first time EVER I managed to get a little higher than a 2.0 kd in Control. I thought to myself: "no, surely not, trashman rises?", yes fellow trash people, we rise

8 RepliesOddly enough my connection has been better since new matchmaking. I'm loving the close and exciting matches !

69 RepliesAnyone complaining about SBMM just mad they can’t run over lower level players anymore. But they’ll give you EVERY POSSIBLE reason except the actual reason they mad. Watch…. 5, 4, 3, 2………

22 RepliesSbmm is so great op Hasn't played in 5 days. So great that sbmm is back pvp mains have an unejoyable time while the person who plays pvp every 5 days has a great time...

Honestly haven't seen much of a change other than longer queues. Teamates are still seventh generation inbreds that chase shotgunners around corners, which is was was happening on 1.1 kd teammate matches before and now it's happening on 1.6-8kd teammate matches.

Agreed, as a fellow old man PvP is cool right now, certainly feels closer to my limited skill set!

Edited by ryebar: 9/1/2022 5:51:28 PMGood to hear. I’m in the same demographic as you and have been contemplating playing more PVP given the change to SBMM.

I’m very happy for those who don’t have to deal with gods anymore. Personally, I enjoy it. 😈

2 RepliesWow, some of these comments are toxic trash talking elitists who don't understand people regardless of skill level want to play even skilled players. Not everyone can be top 1%. Some people play casually and play for fun, not to sweat every match abusing the meta to inflate your already bloated online egos. Good for you OP, I too am enjoying pvp more now I can jump in with non meta gear just to have fun 👍

2 RepliesThe problem with SBMM is that while its great you're having more fun, it 100% comes at the expense of others time in PVP. It is a populist solution, that doesn't make it a good one. it just means you'll hear less complaining from lower brackets. i play with a fair amount of true sub-1% players, it really sucks that they just get pushed out. Sbmm means that for the top 15-20% you have to be on your best to do okay and that is a great way to push your veterans out of the game.

My man, I don’t care about watheverBMM. I just care that half of my games ends up 3v6 and the other half are barely playable due to extremely poor cconnection quality…

100 RepliesGood that you’ve been enjoying it! However, I think I can echo a lot of the concerns of the pvp mains that the experience has been pretty bad. Lag, genera desync, and queue times have gotten worse since this last update. Which sucks, because as a lot of people who mainly play pvp in this game like to play crucible, but are more so getting fed up. No one wants to sweat every single game in a casual, non-competitive, 6v6 environment. “BuT iTS nOt a PvP gAMe” It’s a game with pvp and pve. There’s a crucible vendor. Lore. Crucible updates. So yes, our concerns are valid, and I wish there was a way to truly please everyone in all skill brackets.

Same, I've vary much found myself enjoying crucible lately.

2 RepliesI’ve been enjoying it quite a bit. My only gripe is how often people leave the lobbies I’m in. I’m not going to say I’m a phenomenal player by any means, but I’m definitely within the “above average” brackets. To me, getting matched with new lights and people who were obviously less experienced with the game felt grimy and not fun. First off, I wasn’t getting better and neither were they. Playing people that far below my experience level wasn’t fun at all and wasn’t helping me improve at the game. Sure, throwing up crazy high kill games can be nice, I don’t like the feeling of demolishing a team when there’s such a massive disparity of skill. It’s not satisfying So now, I’m in lobbies with other players that are very good, and in a lot of cases better than me. My matches have been challenging in a good way. Aside from the games where everyone starts leaving and one team snowballs because of that, it feels competitive! Games are close, and I have to think a lot more about the game at a higher level. Generally, I just find it a lot more engaging to play with other people at my skill level than having blow outs game after game. I really like the changes so far and hope they look towards solidifying the system in the future.
