This 10 light increase each season is stupid and needs to go. I have to keep doing old stuff I don’t want to do versus doing the new season content and then get constantly disrespected by only getting weapon drops and no armor.
-
So y’all complained about 50 levels so they dropped it to 10 and now ten is to much like bruh 😂
-
3 RepliesPower level in general needs to go. It's pointless gatekeeping.
-
1 ReplyJust dropped my 14th energy weapon. -blam!- JOKE bungo.

This season (assuming you own the expansions) there are per character 3x old core play list pinnacles 100k nightfall 3x in duality 5x in kings fall 1x rotating raid 1x rotating dungeon Dares legend Seasonal master (whenever it’s fixed) 4x in the throne world activities Whatever you get from hawthorn Trials or iron banner That’s 20-22 per week per character with a good number being +2 and not going into the ability of the season pass/prime engrams or that grab bag of arc gear in the helm to fill in a lagging weapon or armor piece as infusion fuel This is the easiest season to reach pinnacle cap they have ever offered. It still feels terrible and I don’t want to do it, but I will want to do master kings fall when it’s available which probably requires you to be +21 on the artifact plus the pinnacle cap to not get rolfstomped by everything so fomo it is In reality all light level should be removed and harder content like nightfalls/master raids should be varying degrees of contest mode so that you can pick the game up mid season and still play everything. When light level is removed they should still deprecate sunset stuff; because people deleted armor and weapons before beyond light in good faith because bungo said explicitly they would not be made endgame usable again

1 ReplyYeah it is. I got six primary drop in six pinnacle run. What the HECK! How bad can it get????
-
3 RepliesWhat really sucks is the RNG! With the witch queen expansion, I wasn't able to reach max power lvl. Last season, it took me 10 weeks to reach cap. I can't tell how stupidly often I got the pinical drop on armor or weapons in slots I didn't needed. It's the most annoying thing in the intier game!
-
The pinnacle system is honestly redundant and won't make that much of a difference outside of GMs; many players are just better off grinding their artifact. If Bungie wants to make it worthwhile, then the power gap or light recommendation would need to increase, and neither need increased because the activities are already challenging enough.
-
1 ReplyBetter than 50 like it used to be.
-
1 ReplyYep just got 7 energy weapons in a row Awesome bungo.
-
2 RepliesExactly! I really wish I could experience the fun stuff this game has to offer. But now I’m an adult and I don’t have nearly as much time on my hands. I really wish I could play KF and relive the awesome moments I had in D1 KF. Some players like to grind, so let them grind for god rolls. That’s where the grinding should be. Other players, like me, simply want to experience all of the content this game has to offer, without having to sacrifice real life opportunities and obligations. And I find it very demoralizing that on the rare occasion I actually do have the chance to grind, I get very busy again before I have time for the actual fun stuff. And then next season hits and I have to do it all over again.

Edited by Elden Lord Archon: 8/31/2022 4:48:10 PMI hate how D2 pretty much requires its playerbase to have no life if they want to experience everything it has to offer. You have to spend all day multiple days a week, grinding powerful and pinnacle rewards on all 3 characters, just to get to the fun stuff. It’s almost like a clingy girlfriend. “You need to spend more time with meeee!!! Forget your job. Forget your education. Forget your goals. If you don’t spend more time with me, you ain’t gettin none of this!” *shakes her @ss*

Blue in post master 1570 pinnacle drop 1571...... Turn off game. (FEEDBACK)
-
Edited by TheArtist: 8/31/2022 3:00:49 PMIt really needs to go away. All it does is act as a massive time sink/progression bottleneck to act as a time-gate to high-difficulty activities like GMNFs.
-
2 RepliesBungie is scared to do that , if they do it would mean they actually have to do there job and make NEW CONTENT , not some story that we get to do little by little each week, and a dumb 6 man match made activity.
-
Bruh it's even more stupid. I remembered now why I stopped doing duality. In twice my runs I got 1 weapon and the rest all armor. And not just any armor. All under my current one as well
-
23 RepliesYou don’t have to do it. The only thing that requires a high light level is GM nightfalls. And they won’t be around for weeks. Play anyway you want and by the time they come around the artifact will have you basically where you need to be. Seems like a lot of players lack self control. They see that they can raise their light level and they feel it’s a must do. It’s not.
-
Tbh it's one of the main reasons I don't have a desire to play anymore.. I'm over the whole seasonal hamster wheel in leveling so I'm having a big break. Will come back for lightfall though
-
1 ReplyLevel requirements kinda suck in general imo for destiny. Pinnacle grind sucks too because most of it isn’t match made, so it’s not like it’s helping keep numbers up either.. I personally think they should just have one major level increase per expansion, and no small increases per season. Don’t get me wrong, it’s better now than it ever was with the artifact bridging the gap, but it’s the system itself that was always bound to wear down patience, leveling that is rng based is exhausting.
-
The gameplay loop in Destiny has always been about repeating the core activities. But yes it gets incredibly old and very boring.
-
Yes to this. I am so over the pinnacle grind. Just start everyone out at the same PL each season. Rank updates add to PL so you are free to chase whatever you want. End the agony.
-
I think the bigger problem with the pinnacle grind is too often the only things we can’t play after the power level gets moved IS old stuff. Master and GM content becomes out of reach again for a bit. Worse is if you’re a gamer that takes most of the season to get to GM level or finally feel comfortable doing Master level content. The season ends shortly thereafter when you barely got to enjoy the last climb in power. The power level is basically so short lived. Every 3 months Bungie could rest our power to 0, set Legend content to lvl 10, master to lvl 40, and GM lvl 60. It would be the same thing, except more honest.

100% agree

This is the same sentiment I have this season. Sure, Arc 3.0 was just released. But aside from that, there is nothing new, except for the revamped King's Fall raid. I'm not really that excited to do it another 99 times like I did in D1. But sure. It's a season filler until Lightfall. Nothing is exciting this season really. The endless pinnacle grind isn't making things any easier, either. It's a chore. It's a full time job, if you ask me. Oh well. Sigh. Time to take a break from the game. Maybe I'll be back next year. Cheers everyone!

Why are you doing old stuff? I stopped doing those. Just do what you like. I do raids and will stick to it. Eventually you will get to pinnacle cap. You don’t even need pinnacle level for most activities.
