Best purple scout rifle?
Best purple scout rifle?
I just can’t find a gun that is better than Thorn. This gun is amazing but I miss using my secondary and heavy because I just don’t need them for more than a few select fights. Thorn is all around the best gun I have ever used. Hip shots are killer, the range is amazing and impact rivals all guns. I speak for PVE I don’t PVP much at all.
Any purple scouts that can compare to this gun?

1 ResponderIf you're looking for a PvE scout rifle then I'd go with the Saterrienne Rapier. The Crucible vendor has one with Outlaw and Firefly (it's basically the scout rifle version of Fatebringer). If you're looking for a PvP scout then I'd go with the Badger CCL from the Vanguard vendor. It crits for 75 dmg (3HKO) and with Luck in the Chamber 1 random round does 97 crit dmg. It also has Flared Magwell which brings it's reload speed up to almost as fast as the Rapier with Outlaw active (with + scout reload speed gloves).

My badger with luck in the chamber and firefly is unreal almost feels like I'm cheating when using it. Fang is great too.

Sateriene Rapier is the best vendor one hands down. VoC or Fang are both wonderful as well if you want to raid for them. Otherwise you're hoping for a lucky roll on a drop.

3 RespostasI have a question first. Why would you want to change from a handcannon to a scout rifle? They have a very different feel and different mechanics. It seems the better choice would be to go to another handcannon. That being said, Saterienne Rapier is one of the best legendary scouts out right now since it can be purchased with the Firefly perk. That means you can get a really good scout rifle without having to rely on RNG. The problem there is that it's sold by the Crucible QM and you already mentioned that you don't PvP much. Getting the 150 marks required might be a grind, but you've got Thorn to aid you in that process. I'm not really an avid HC user (except for when I bring Thorn out in PvP) so someone else will have to give you an idea of a decent legendary replacement.

1 ResponderVOC, hands down. But I got a vanguard rank drop of an NiTC with Firefly and explosive rounds. It's kinda sad that was my best reward in weeks.

Basically any scout with firefly and explosive rounds. Check out my warlock, i have a calling scout with those perks, amazing.

I was going to say my Badger CCL with firefly, but seeing the same with firefly, field scout AND explosive rounds I have to say that one wins out. I only really use my VoC in the VoG or on weekly heroic/nightfalls.

5 RespostasGuns you can buy? Badger CCL is the most "hand cannony". I can switch off between thorn and badger and they play similar. Otherwise, get the sateriane rapier from the crucible vender is the only one with the all-important firefly perk. Unless you have firefly all the guns are basically the same. Don't worry about it, just choose one, firefly's the only perk that really matters.

Another NITC. got it from a nightfall with a good roll. its my go to, if i didn't have several others to choose from.

Go do VOG and get Vision of Confluence. Even though it's attack is only 300, it is still a beast gun with solar damage.

Thorn is a great gun but I think you'll find more use out of fate bringer for pve hand cannons. Also the crota raid scout rifle is one worth your time if you don't have it.
