What people don't understand is tho, 3 rocket = 3 solar grenades. That's even more damage. Also if you're a warlock and have 2 grenades it's even more suppressive damage, with the solar grenade at least. That's constant damage and can keep enemies off of you. Just because it doesn't track doesn't mean it's not good. It's called strategy which none of you probably know anything about.
Edit: The dragons breath is a strategic weapon, which means you don't obviously use it in every situation. Yes it lacks tracking but tracking isn't all ways good. Prime example aiming at CROTA and it hits the knight in front of him instead. It's called strategy. If you didn't read my post fully please refer to the last sentence.
Edit2: I'm not comparing the DB to any rocket launcher I'm just stating uses of it. Stop posting about other ROCKET LAUNCHERS that you guys think are better. That isnt the argument of this post at all.
Edit3: The dragons breath also does double damage with a direct hit so that shows you it's still strong
Edit 4 : I appreciate everyone's input, but what I don't understand is how some of you people come into threads and try to make the topic about what you want it to be about. If you want a thread to represent your opposing and very different opinion that has nothing to do with others, make your own damn threads.

46 RespostasEditado por LionO: 3/6/2015 6:50:47 PMPeople think it sucks because it actually takes skill to use, it does not have a lock on target which is what people complain about. How about get good? Learn to aim properly rather than have an auto lock on target system hold your hand like a little baby. Dragons Breath takes skill to use and fully upgraded it's a beast. I love it, I actually got mine, I did not buy it from Xur. It destroyed Omnigull in the Nightfall. Dragons Breath and the Truth are good rockets to have.

What exactly is the point you're trying to make? The fact that rockets from dragons breath leave behind a solar flare is not a "strategy". People use tracking rockets so they can ensure one doesn't miss when Crota sometimes sidesteps. Your entire post is pretty confusing.

If Dragon's Breath had proximity detonation I would be all over it. No tracking required. It's a great rocket launcher. It's just really shitty when Crota shifts suddenly and your rocket flys right past him.

I get your point and it's 100% valid. Now, you do have to understand that every head is a different world. Meaning that each individual would have their own thoughts and tastes. With that being said, in my opinion Dragons Breath is a pile of shit. Simple and straight to the point. You did explain perfectly the uses of that specific launcher but no matter what explanation you give me I'll differ because like I said, imo the weapon is garbage. Same goes for the NLB piece of shit. Sorry but that's the way it goes. I hope you understand my point of view. I would never or never will use Dragons Breath...it's that simple. No matter what strategy I'll will cover it with something else. But I don't need Dragons Breath not even once during the game.
-
I use the solar grenade as a my safe area when I need to revive someone in nightfall strikes. See a guardian down, toss a solar grenade on the persons ghost, profit. I usually use dragons breath when the boss can be pinned or I know it can clear out a few Ultras due to its massive amount of damage. So it does take a bit of strategy because after the initial blast, the boss will try and get away.

4 RespostasJust did CE hard mode with some more experienced players. I didn't get to finish bc I had to go, but I got dragons breath and I really like it. I haven't gotten to use it a whole lot beside on the raid, but I think it's bad ass. All this info you provided made me more stoked too, since I haven't gotten a chance to read the stats. Good DAy to you

4 RespostasI wouldn't use the thing. Ever.

4 RespostasShooting anything far due to its poor velocity only highlights it's lack of tracking further. It sucks. Gjallarhorn > Truth > Hunger of Crota > Dragons Breath.

6 RespostasWe all know that ghorn is the godfather of single target dmg. But guys, at first not everybody owns it and don't compare the 2 launchers. Ghorn will always win the dmg output discussion. And no one denies this fact. BUT REALIZE that DB has its own situations and own advantages. AND it does also a lot of dmg. Truth for example doesn't have anything special. It's only an exotic launcher with aggressive tracking. That's it. DB instead can be used very clever and tactical. But hey, nobody expects you to use it this way. Please only accept the fact, that DB can be very useful if you want to. Nothing at this world is only black and white!

I agree. I was an idiot and didn't buy it when Xur had it for sale a few weeks ago, but based on the specs I've pulled for the rocket launchers Dragons Breath is one of the most powerful ones in the game. It certainly trounces my poor, The Truth. Tracking isn't "all that" all the time, sometimes splash damage is more damaging than a direct hit. You certainly don't need tracking for Crota in CE. The dude stands there and doesn't move, so anybody with half an aim can hit him just fine to take his shields down. Everybodys just bitter cause they think g'horn is heads and tails better than any rocket launcher in the game, and they're wrong. Cheers

You can walk faster than a rocket from DB

I have a dragons breath and was in charge of killing one oracle in the templar area of VOG. I literally shot it three times and still had to take out my scout rifle...i was in awe at how little the damage was.
-
it doesn't have tracking so people won't use it. it takes skill to use effectively. most people want an easy button, dragons breath doesn't have one.

3 Respostas
I'm not comparing the DB to any rocket launcher
So basically, your point is "it's better than nothing". I mean, I guess your have a point, UNLESS YOU HAVE ANY OTHER EXOTIC!

If you want a thread to represent your opposing and very different opinion that has nothing to do with others, make your own damn threads.
It is laughable you are complaining about this when the title of your thread invites the responses you received. Had you worded your title and opinion in a more objective way, instead of making implications that you are great and everyone else is stupid, you wouldn't receive the opposing views in as great of numbers. Subjective posts will garner subjective responses. Its your fault you received the negative feedback. Bitching about it is pretty dumb.

3 Respostasall i want to know is, did you really make a reference to Normal Crota with a Knight on the bridge? also, who kills the boomers? i now understand why you are defending DB.

Good in pvp and certain pve situations...but not great for crota.

6 RespostasI like the dragons breath, its a good rocket to have and fun to play with.

It's good, but pales in comparison to other rockets, in my opinion. Do you have any good examples where it outshines other rocket launchers? I honestly can't really think of any. Most bosses move so the burn effect isn't too useful. It might be nice in control but I'd rather use truth for tracking.
