5 RespostasHere's a better analogy, since buying a lottery ticket is not difficult, and requires no work. I'm going to compare people who got the icebreaker from the raid/nightfall, to the people who just bought (aka 2 lvl 28 weeklys) it. Lets say I go out and build a house for a man, and he gives me a new Mercedes in return. Now the man has you build 2 sheds in his backyard, and gives you an exact same version of Mercedes that he gave me. Clearly, I had to work harder for my Mercedes then you did for yours. This, is where some people are coming from. However, I think both sides are a joke. You didn't earn your Icebreaker if you bought it from Xur. You also got lucky that he was selling it, since that too is RNG. The fact that you can get a weapon as good as the Icebreaker from Xur/simply beating a nightfall/beat the raid, is a joke. I'm on the side that weapons as good as the Icebreaker should be both random AND very hard to get a random chance of receiving (much like the Mythoclast, assuming you don't drop Atheon off the cliff).

Well said. So far I got suros as a random drop in the vault and everything else I have was a weapon bounty. If anything, I would say the suros feels more gratifying because it was free! But the other ones were earned. Because they weren't random drops. The people saying they "earned" their weapon...you got super lucky. Good job.

3 RespostasWhat are you talking about? You have to earn the coins to spend. Strange coins are a random item. Completing a strike you get a random item. The whole game is random, so it make no difference where you get your item, you had to earn the coins to buy it, or do a hell of a lot of strikes and get very lucky. VOG done 5 times now and still only got 1 item! Now if you wanna moan about anything, moan about the lack of items you get to the amount of time you play.

think about it this was, they will be releasing more DLC's with more content.i.e., armor, weapons, and other. so the exotics that we get now will probably suck ass -blam!- when other exotics are released later

3 RespostasI've logged more than enough hours to be an 'earner' and I've had two exotic rewards.. from a nightfall and from vog hard mode... not a single magical exotic engram rewards. or crucible gift.. I've also completed multiple exotic bounties. and purchased two weapons from xur. I 'earned' suros from beating a nighfall strike. I 'earned' vex from vog hard mode atheon. I 'earned' bad juju, thorn, and invective from bounties. I 'earned' the vast majority of my strange coins from the weakly herioc strike . what this actually means is that I play the game. and utilize all venues available to me to progress. That's playing the game.. it should be for your enjoyment when you play. and mine when I play.

"Not Earn": Get Strange Coins from Weekly Strikes and hope the random number generator gives you some more from Engrams. That's the gist of it. There is no cut and paste system for 'earning' gear in Destiny. You either work for coins, or play repeat the strike playlist/crucible/raids until you get it. I guess buying Engrams for motes is both at once, since you get the random drop from the Engram as well as the mote farming. [b][/b]

3 RespostasI don't care where people got their shit if it's not raid gear. I didn't get an exotic I ever used until level 29 and still don't have exotic armor. I do however, buy exotic armor from Xür all the time to disassemble that shit for shards. It's not like I haven't "earned" rather than bought exotics either, but when they were even for my class I thought they weren't worth my materials anyway. Now, if you think I'm a retard for not equipping gear just for the Light, you're the type of player no one wants on their team anyway.

I earned those coins, also being a Warlock, Xur has had absolute shit gear for me everytime (I already had the chest piece from a legendary engram). Stop complaining about "earning'.

To be honest these discussions are pointless. If you get give or take 20 strange coins to buy a weapon, then you earned it. If you invest your time into farming (like a farmer farms his potatoes) then you earned your weapon. The only time you wouldn't be earning was if you stood in the tower doing absolutely nothing and some dude walked up and handed the item to you. Then it would be a gift. However that doesn't happen.
