I'm glad that somebody brought up my user name, or at the very least understood what it meant. The truth is that yes, I am slightly bitter, but it's really at the culmination of what Bungie have been up to as of late. I fully recognise that Destiny isn't a bad game--even though others seem to misinterpret me--but to me it wasn't what I was expecting.

Expectations almost always lead to disappointment. Blizzard taught me this. Maybe this is your moment.

Editado por Capt Explodabob: 8/21/2014 9:00:12 AMSo your advice is to embrace Nihilism and not enjoy anything? After a decade of amazing games, I only imagined the best of Bungie, as they only offered the best. After hyping up their game countless times, I though that the once great developer could deliver... I was wrong. I learnt not to expect a lot, but Bungie has never let me down before this. If you consider that all I wanted was what was advertised to me--not a -blam!-ing Borderlands clone with PvP--then my expectations were at a reasonable level. Still, there are developers who can be counted on with almost every game, developers like Bethesda, Bioware, Valve, Naughty Dog, Remedy, Irrational, EPIC, CD Project Red, and now, 343 Industries.

I said expectations lead to disappointment, which is a semi-common saying that I have found true in my experience. You make such blanket statements as if your opinion was the Word of God. So its pointless for me to engage you in meaningful dialogue because you have no intention of listening. I would have better luck talking a kitchen table into setting itself. This is obviously very personal for you. I doubt half the posters on this board even know who 343 is, but you seem to have the whole thing figured out. Even I barely know who "Marty" is, but you're on another level when it comes to keeping track of pointless game industry drama. Like I said, Blizzard let me down with Warcraft III...crushed me really. Now, years later, I enjoy just about everything I play. Because I enjoy it for what it is, not what I want it to be. Video game development is art.
Personal opinions about other peoples artwork is just as meaningless as its always been.
Stop being so butthurt that the game is not what you expected. It's still a great game it's even gonna be bigger than halo so stfu and borderlands hasn't got a thing on destiny my friend this game kicks ass borderlands is boring loool
-
Another branch owned by call of duty. What do you know...
-
Would you feel differently about Destiny if Marty was still at Bungie?

Editado por Darrus Ralier: 8/20/2014 11:47:57 AMI'm not trolling or anything, but I just wonder...who is Marty? I mean sorry if I don't who he is,but I play Bungie games, not looking at the staff. However,I give them credit.
-
The reason I chose the username 'Ghost of Marty' over my Gamertag is due to the fact that Bungie terminated his contract without cause, creating turmoil within the Seventh Column. I chose this picture and name so that people wouldn't forget the best composer in the history of gaming on this site -- so did a lot of other people. When you see people with the same avatar as me - now you know.
-
You are a joker loool how much of his money he made had he given you for you to go on bum licking him like this? Well I got news flash for you mate he doesn't give a damn about you or your stinking avatar trollling
-
But when people miss interpret you you bring a bad name to marty
-
Uematsu nobuo thank you and goodnight
-
You're marty, aren't you?...
-
Na,I already knew about him. This is the first thing we've agreed upon since your comment about destiny. Seriously,I just didn't know he was called Marty. Now I feel bad. :(
-
Marty O'Donnell was the lead composer for the Halo games and Destiny.
-
His music was the best.
-
Oh yeah. That Marty.

Editado por Capt Explodabob: 8/20/2014 11:27:16 AMNo, but I'd feel differently about Bungie. While playing the BETA I still had that moment of, "Wow! This music is amazing!", that I got from Halo.
-
oh yeah just the music at the menu screen when starting Destiny was like wow this is amazing

Editado por Capt Explodabob: 8/20/2014 3:17:53 PMYep. My favourite part would have to be the random piece of music that plays while just hanging around the Tower. I can't really describe it, but it would come out of nowhere and was very intense. To be honest, while overall I didn't fully enjoy the BETA, I'm on the fence because of rwo things in regards to buying the game: 1. The fantastic memory creating moments the music brings 2. Halo. While a lot has changed since Halo-era Bungie, some of the core employees from Halo still work there, and while I'm not sold on Destiny, my blind faith of Halo makes me want to believe that the creators of my favourite series--and one of the best Sci Fi series of all time--are just masters of despair and deception, and will have an amazing product come launch. If Destiny turns out to be the amazing game that I want it to be but don't think it will be, then I'll come back here and edit every single negative post I have ever made about the game saying, "I was wrong. I'm sorry. Destiny is awesome."... But I don't think I will have to.
-
If you came back and did that, I would be impressed but as you said probably not happening and it's k I like destiny a lot you may not anymore so I hope you find a game that you can have your expectations met :)
-
It was just a small taste of a game the full game may be even better and I'm sure it will be
