Closest I ever got to an extraction shooter was Division 1 dark zone. I happened to play during the free “server slam” for Arc Raiders. Slight learning curve. Overwhelming amount of items, and some hidden mechanics. But once you get the hang of it, it’s extremely satisfying to play. The ARC are scary as -blam!-. The skill tree is well thought out. Sounds/sneak mechanics are paramount. Gun play is very solid for a third person shooter. Proximity chat is one of the coolest features. Non mic communications are intuitive. Game looks and plays great. Killer soundtrack. As far as losing gear, it’s not all that bad. The maps are large enough to where you can avoid teams. Comms are as useful a weapon as guns. The fact you’ll eventually be able to craft your loadout gives every extraction worth. It’s been refreshing to not have to worry about “where am I gonna store all these guns!?” Lol I can’t recommend this game to everyone, just like I couldn’t recommend EoF to many of my friends to get them back into Destiny 2. But having played the final free test of Arc Raiders, it was solid enough to draw me in. Release game is even better. Solo play is also fantastic. Have had great experiences just using diplomacy with others. One final note: I’m on Series X, and the game performs flawlessly for me. Lemme know if you end up getting it. I’ll be playing it until Renegades drops; then I’ll be playing both.
