Bungie broke that LS a while back, just reload it and run through it normally and maybe it'll work.

I reloaded the planet several times, I walked through, I rode through, I flew through. Tried killing everything before the room and also killing nothing, enemies never spawned into the room and no portal ever showed.

Slow walk into the lost sector -> stop moving when the name appears above your super bar -> wait until you hear them spawn/see red on radar -> continue on
