I am once again calling for difficulty and challenge to be nerfed across the board. The game is being beat by Warframe and most decent fair looter titles even Diablo 4 may pass up destiny soon in player population. You abandoned your players to tune up difficulty to inflate player metrics and they have abandoned you. The stuido itself has fostered every negative aspect of its reputation and community.
Things like perfect tracking around and through cover, infinite range, aimbots, aoe through geometry, knockback. I feel like I’m playing the saltagreppo dbag difficulty. It needs to be said that there are a caliber of players that you simply cannot nerf. Like salt or esoterickk. They will always outperform what you create but creating something that only challenges that player abandons the broader audience which you did with lightfall and are currently paying the price for.
The massive amount of nerfs to player experience have massively overinflated the difficulty it goes from no difficulty to gm instantly. Bungie this seasons artifact specifically show how bankrupt the studio is creatively that you had to nerf hammer titan for some delusion of balance. I’m beyond sick of being nerfed only to have power resold to me in the seasonal artifact and what makes it worse is there is no revert after said seasonal artifact is gone. The studio is terrible at what they think will be problematic to what actually is in reality problematic. Like one can guess that hammer titan was nerfed because of the weakening seasonal perk that makes kinda sense but where is the guarantee the nerf gets reverted when it goes away? There is none and a play style was lost forever one that was a staple of the subclass for some dumb devs ego and laziness. The ever present and consistent entropy on player power fantasy build crafting and investment is why you are regarded with the lowest of respect because these practices are despicable and should be criminal in the gaming space. Players shouldn’t hate a studio and want its downfall that should never be apart of these kinda relationships but the degree that bungie has gone to undermine anyone moderately invested in this game has created this sentiment. Personally I continue to play despite bungie because I enjoy my friend groups but unless there is a mass revert of light falls nerfs and affect on the game I’m done and will not purchase the final shape in protest.
The guardian that Sherpa’d me in my very first raid that became a really close friend brought me and my friend group together can’t even touch the game because of what you’ve done to it. Has gone as far as asking us not to ask him to play destiny. You did that bungie and in the situation you are in these are the people you need to earn back with what happens next. The final shape has NO LEGS TO STAND ON if you don’t revert and shift yourselves away from everything that was attempted with lightfall and the negative business and development practices you use in game. Error on generosity and pursuing player satisfaction than challenge and hours of game metrics. If final shape is more of the same the consequences you should be aware of.
For the dim this is not in ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM about pvp. If I had anything to say is either let it die or explicitly and completely separate the balances and their practices and never nerf anything for pvp’s sake again in pve.
PSA: with all due respect and to tone down any unnecessary ugliness please don’t comment if you have not done anything above base difficulty or (no shame) can’t or are unwilling to do any content that is harder. This is a discussion of the overall changes lightfall brought and it is hard to take anyone seriously who isn’t talking from experience. It does no good to fight over stuff that is just plainly content you don’t engage with. I think that’s fair.

Alot of these people have no lives. So they like it the way it is. Bungie is finding out there is alot more casual players then people who play 5 hours a day. Who agree with you. Things were fine until they changed and now look there firing half of there staff. When playstation takes over probably be alot better.
-
A good way to satisfy all needs would be to bring back Five of swords (or something similar) that lets us customtune the difficulty, not limited to Nightfalls but everywhere. Like this, the sweats can have their sweatfest and the casuals can do as they please without feeling horrible.

2 RespostasAs always, it's about options. There should be harder difficulties with proportionally more rewards and lower difficulties with proportionally less. If your problem is with difficulty at the hgihest level, you'll need to get over it. If your problem is with baseline difficulty or lack of lower-tier options, I support it. Everyone should be able to play at levels somewhat near where they'd like and there's no reason we can't have those options. Obviously we can't have specific skill options for everyone but another option or two on the lower end would be fine. But they would (and should) be generally less rewarding than higher tier difficulties.

1 ResponderLooks like this game is just weaving out the players that aren’t good. I say let it be! Makes harder content easier to beat when using LFG. 🤣

1 ResponderThis is exactly why I stopped buying season passes and took a break. I was finally starting to confidently solo legendary lost sectors to get legendary armor that I’ve missed after the Witch Queen. Once Light Fall dropped, difficulty changed, mods changed, and I was no longer powerful enough to solo lost sectors. It felt like I was back at square one and I really didn’t feel like putting the time in to get back to where I was.

21 RespostasEditado por Dredgen Truth: 12/11/2023 1:07:46 PMA lot of people are leaving the game, but I have my doubts about the idea that difficulty is any significant portion of the reason. You have to remember that any sentiment from the forums, reddit, twitter, or any other social media, are a tiny but vocal portion of the playerbase, and even amongst them the talks about difficulty are a point of heavy debate. I think there are two much more significant reasons that people keep leaving destiny. The first is that things aren't exactly going great at bungie right now, and even the people who like the game are hesitant to support it because doing so means giving money to the executives making those decisions. I think the second and far more potent reason that the average player isn't touching destiny right now is because it's hip to hate on destiny right now. Whenever someone talks about getting into destiny, they're always told "you mean that dead game that everyone hates?", and then they come into places like this and see how vitriolic the discussion of the game is and it's not much better. Simply put I think the community is a lot of the reason that people don't touch this game. For better or worse, the perception that people have of us is that we're a bunch of filthy addicts who can't stop playing a game that we hate, and constantly lash out at anyone who has a different opinion than us, and there's no significant push back against that kind of perception from within the community because there's way more people who aren't even playing the game anymore specifically trying to make it seem that way than there are people who still enjoy the game and have any interest talking about it online. Despite the fact that, when you get down into it and actually start playing with people in the game, our community is quite nice, the outsider would only see the vitriol. The people who continue to hate on the game that they keep playing. It doesn't make us look good, it doesn't make the game look good, it does nothing but hurt everyone involved.

What keeps me coming back is the GMs but I refuse to use a side arm for AB since it makes no sense. They have no range do little damage.

2 RespostasThis is 100% correct. Unfortunately you have try hards and sweat streamers the smallest percentage of player base by far in Destiny that say keep cranking it up. All the while there sales have went spiraling down. And yet Bungie keeps shooting their own foot off by the hair brained ideas that all paying customers want a sweaty game . Its just not the case and Bungies revenue is paying the price for the changes they continue to roll out . All the while players keep leaving the game along with their money .

3 RespostasThere are 2 types of hard : 1. where you have to learn/master a new mechanic or something similar Fun or. 2. make everything 2 shot u and have a -blam!- ton of health (what destiny did) not Fun.

4 RespostasA video recently showed a player who sandbagged a whole season of challenges and got around 9 million XP which took his season level to around 450 and it wasn't even enough to get to light level 1840. Ridiculous and only achievable by 24x7 players. Not being able to get up to level is crazy and so is the fact that they have activities which automatically cap you to a lower light level. Each season I get so tired of the grind I quit before season level 50, then come back a few weeks before season end to see that NOTHING ever changes. They buff some stuff and nerf other stuff to make players change up their builds and waste time relearning another way to play.

15 RespostasWhy do people want the game to be so difficult. I really thought games were supposed to be a escape from reality and all the stresses of life. Why frustrate players by making peoples builds useless season after season. I’m done happy I didn’t pre order

2 RespostasEditado por Griever: 12/10/2023 8:06:43 PM#makelightlevelsmatteragain Edit: let me clarify, every activity that levels do make any difference in, we're either significantly over leveled, I think we only see advantages 20-30 above, but they gain advantage over us up to 40 below. They cap us 5-25 below, some activities scale this differently, Master dungeons cap us at 20 below (1820), GMs cap us 25 below(1815), meaning you'll be fully prepared for GMs level-wise before Master dungeons. Or they buff every enemy to be 5 levels higher, some buff the enemies further as you go further in like Dives and Coil. What is the point of leveling up if we gain nothing from it? Either we should benefit from our time or they should just do away with the level system and just scale difficulty like Halo did, removing modifiers as well.

1 ResponderBuff player aim, positioning, and decision making. Every problem solved.

7 RespostasIf Bungie would make hunter and warlock's as OP as Titans ,then it would balance the game better . But even then Bungie knows they went to far on the nerfs ,but they do what the man says. and the man says nerf the living god out of everything.

3 RespostasI tried new Blind Well well with randoms for first time yesterday.. miserable experience red bars with a million health everyone dying every 5 seconds just dumb pretty over every activity being master NF

I know what you mean. The boosting services are probably founded by some D2 devs as well as the names you mentioned in your post. Both parties don’t want to see each other going bankrupt. Excluding abilities nerfing, I see no point in nerfing guns for PVE activities. The list can go on and on..feeling lazy just to discuss this in detail. The main point is “ to play this game with complete satisfaction, you need a group of 6 hardcore players who have nothing to do in real life, I mean you need 6 jobless people “. Personally, I am enjoying this game recently; no master raid, I do GMs btw (wishender main lol), coil is also fun as long as you are matched with right people, use the discord group. Make sure you watch tutorials before you try any harder activities 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 a cooperation between Bungie and streamers lol 😂. Personally, I hate streamers that you mentioned and I dislike all their videos shorts and will keep doing that and encourage people to do so. The reason is that they are manipulative to the core, and fed by Bungie. I don’t understand why Bungie themselves won’t open a Tutorial collections, they can hire a bunch of people from this forum who are the so called “simps” 🤣🤣🤣🤣

4 RespostasAs soon as they announced there wouldn't be a power increase to play for , and the absolutely AWFUL Lightfall trailer, I lost interest and haven't spent a penny since. Because the majority of new content and loot is behind a paywall, I cannot really play anything that is challenging, but I can imagine how bad the game has become by the comments, and the way players characters have all been watered down, regardless of how long they have played and grinded to make those super builds. Sad times for a once excellent game

Changing the difficulty is not going to really do anything because the business is the actual problem. What they have shown over the years is that they like to create problems, and then try to sell you the solution only to find out that they replace the current problem with a new one. The biggest problem they have is wanting to control how players play their game. All gaming businesses do this, but this one has stepped way over the line, and now they created a huge problem because if they revert the difficulty after conditioning players to play how they want them to play knowing streamers and the hardcore players have been asking for this? There will be backlash, and they will lose a lot of those players. This business did this to themselves🤷♂️
-
For me the problem with difficulty is that they keep nerfing anything that make the game slightly easier, enemies keep getting stronger but our guardians keep getting weaker. I am extremely bored with being killed over and over again even when I'm in a sea of sunspots.

Why do players who want the harder difficulty - why are they against this? Stop going against each other. Its Bungie's fault period. The lowest level difficulty.. let's imagine EDZ/Nessus..etc patrol zones and Vanguard Ops to the next lil blip in difficulty Legendary Lost Sectors.. is too extreme a step jump in difficulty. No one is asking to take away your hard difficulty. Can you not understand there's other people in the world? Your hard -blam!- will still exist. If Bungie cannot offer better difficulty options to its whole player-base it will not recover to help even you dedicated to the absolute PVE hardest level folk. Start banding together to save this game - so its crystal clear to Bungie how to keep it going... Or continue being selfish and watch exactly what its doing now.. die. -
5 RespostasWell written! I too have friends -blam!- to play this game anymore. The "Challenege" as Bungie called it,with the continued focus on having to have the right gear for the right build with weapons that have the best perks is making the average player hate this game. Coil is the perfect example, platforming, traps, immunity bosses, and overly large hit point pools coupled with the huge damage scorn snipers do. You have to do multiple runs and you have limited revives. It all adds up to an experience that is NOT engaging for the average player. If you can't one shot a champion the nerf to stun timing has made it almost impossible to kill them with anything short of a super and a ton of your heavy ammo. Some of the easier legendary lost sectors that I could do are now so frustrating that I just only do them for the exotic drop of a new exotic and then never go in them again. The continued focus of you have to play this sub class this season is driving me away form the game. I like Arc hunter but this season is so focused on solar that I now feel forced to run a sub class I hate! Anyways I agree with everything you said!

I like where they are going with Riven's Lair being baby mode and Coil being more challenging. Very good start in my opinion of bringing back easier modes for activities while increasing rewards for those who do harder content. They do need to tone down the length of Coil though, the difficulty should just increase each room instead of each run. Lowering difficulty on the bottom end for a "Story Mode" would be perfect for new players or those who don't care about challenge while keeping the rewards low as well. Also a cohesive story for new player so they aren't lost such as the old campaigns (compressed if necessary) but that's a different topic.

1 ResponderEver since Activision left there's been this weird creeping philosophy that Bungie has been implementing with their mechanics and that is: It's always one encounter too long. With Lightfall that trend continues but now with more enemies. I've seen people say "tedious" and yes, that is basically it. Unnecessarily tedious and more time consuming than it should be.

1 ResponderEditado por zxionisus: 12/12/2023 12:16:44 AMA couple of devs were on a Destiny-themed podcast recently talking about (among other things) their thought-process on power difficulty. Baseline is the hero nightfall and legendary lost sector. Everything else is based off of that level of difficulty. Raids are harder, patrolling is easier, etc. If that’s the case, why are overload champions prevalent in baseline activities? Unstoppables are ok. Armor piercing dudes are also ok (sidearms though?) I don’t know. I think if I had more control over which weapons I wanted to apply mods to, then it might be more fun. Let me make whatever weapon type I want to have overload mod, because each nightfall, dungeon or lost sector is different and calls for a different approach. At least tone down the overload champs by shortening their immunity phase after they are stunned. I’m not necessarily advocating for an across-the-board decrease in difficulty. But, an occasional PVE event in all activities where we are overpowered would be fun. I think it would get people into raids and dungeons that don’t normally enter those activities.
