I check every morning when I get up, have for many years, & when it's in a good place it's around 50-55k building to 85-100k during peak euro hours. If it's 30-35k when I get up, I'm like wow that's low. This morning it was 18k, meaning there was roughly around 36k total players in destiny (pc is usually around 50% of the population during euro hours, drops to 30% during us peak). That's staggeringly low & they gotta be worried at bungie HQ.
I check every morning when I get up
Saddest thing I've heard in a while.

Its on my twitter feed, and on my recommended Google notifications, I'm also retired, autistic, and I'm home 24/7. Let's hope you make it there hey
-
You hope I become autistic & never leave my house?
-
pretty sure they mean to retirement but, you can choose to be obtuse if you want.
-
Asking for clarification is literally the opposite of choosing to be obtuse, my guy.
-
You chose to be an -blam!- and you know it.
-
You've been talking to yourself for too long, my guy.

As has been stated numerous times, no seasons since seasons began have been this low. D2 on twitch this morning had just 900 viewers, & there where 14k players on steam. Gernader Jake, biggest D2 streamer tweeted last night telling D2 streamers to jump now, everything is dying off, twitch views, youtube views, Google searches & impressions. Its that bad bungie tried to bribe creators last weekend with free marathon keys if they be more destiny positive. I've been around since day 1 in 2014 & community sentiment right now, & interest in the franchise has never been worse, even curse didn't feel this bad (I don't think). I'm actually preferring to sit in silence, reading, than playing & I've played every day for 9 years lol. My entire clan of 100 who mostly logged on daily, all stopped in the last 5-6 weeks, just gave up. Sad times

Final Shape is it and that's next year. A lot of people will stop playing by then and if Final Shape is any good some may come back. Everything has a rhythm.

Bungies plan is keeping us hooked till 2030 lol
Bungies plan is keeping us hooked till 2030 lol
Well they better have good product!

They would be back to that weeks from closing the doors but they learned from that and made sure that everything is purchased for an entire year so they don't really care if anyone shows up or not. Just fire up the hype train once a year and the rest practically runs its self so they can focus on more important matters like making two new games. I figure the day the second of the two games launches is the day they pull the plug on whatever is left of this game.

Games got so much wasted potential, sad to see it go out this way but the numbers are showing atm

Just borderlands wannabe to me

Editado por ㄥㄖ几乇: 8/10/2023 8:51:17 PMRead about how bungie got really lucky with covid in that lots of games where paused, everyone was home 24/7 & people just gamed so destiny did really well, or at least held firm for those 2 years or this dropoff may have happened sooner. I think this is the first time that theres actually good games coming out that require time investment & not just a 7-8 hour story & done. Diablo, baldurs gate, final fantasy, all took players, & it's clear this, along with bungies connection issues all year, nonstop bugs, disabling things, crazy monetisation, radio silence, tone deaf articles, & removing power levelling which showed even the most ardent addict that there's not much new content in this game. Then that state of the game hit which was full of excuses, & all the leaks that show quite a bleak future of same old same until 2030 & people just stopped caring, just walked away. Oh not to mention, Starfield drops in 3 weeks, the game that though not live service, potentialy is the game we thought destiny could have been, already sold very very well on pc, & is on gamepass day 1, it could literally kill the destiny Xbox community dead, especially if this vidoc is as expected, more of the same. Sad times indeed, but maybe for the best. I think they'll let it die because them acting swiftly & waking up is probably beyond their capabilities in the current climate.

You made a good point that I'd never considered regarding Covid and numbers, something I'm sure they will be well aware of. That being the case, it makes me wonder even more why they are making the decisions they have recently.

Feels to me like some people there don't want destiny to be a thing anymore, whether it's intentional to push people away so they're free for marathon & the next addiction or they're just tired of this archaic spaghetti they made 15 years ago. But they're 100% pushing away average & veteran players. I think they're happy for it to sit here & farm new players for however long they stick around. Even last night's twid, more returning guns, more returning missions, all Aimee at new players & new players will indeed love it, but for most of us it's tiring. I've seen the leaks btw & unfortunately
they back up what I said above, outside of final shape itself, everything seems to be old things coming back including a 10yr anniversary pack next sept, £60 & filled with D1 exotics & armour, seasons filled with old stuff like st14 guns etc, a year off in 2025 with no content followed by a trilogy in this game taking us to 2030, vex themed, more returning things. They're gonna lose so many old players & are hoping new ones flow through.
-
I totally agree, we get a state of hte game with excuses on allocation of resources as the cause of things not getting done and then we get info that we will be getting more old content back to us.. Sorry but, I don't give a -blam!- about those old missions which I played a ton and already got what I want from it. I continue to pay to have new events, activites, guns, armour and yes cosmetics to earn while playing. I don't continue to pay to receive old weapons, old activities, old events, old armour being given or sold back to us as that means resources not allocated to new things. I have slowly over the last 2 years stopped feeding the monster. I will not be preordering Final Shape and I hope nobody else does as well. Wait. hold off. show bungie that they need to hold true to some promises and actually listen and hear us and stop making excuses.
-
I'm sad to see this, not surprised but sad none the less. It's a shame that they can't just provide the basic content people crave. I'm sure if they actually gave the game a few basic content injections half or more of the complaints with vanish in a heartbeat. But "making games is hard" so I guess that'll ever happen, again, makes me sad.
