I guess you’ve forgotten your early D1 experience. They will learn just like the rest of us did.

The New Light experience teaches almost nothing. I have someone in my house who just started the game a few weeks ago and has no idea what he's supposed to be doing, where he's supposed to go, what builds even are and how he's expected to get all this information. And before you accuse him of just being dumb, this guy plays tons of classic RPGs, MOBAs, and various "hero shooters" on top of things similar in principle games like Borderlands. Destiny just does not seem to want to teach players how anything works and the game just dumps players into the world with their hands tied behind their back without even a "good luck" thrown in for encouragement. Vanilla D1 was practically holding your hand compared to the experience new players get now. All the effort to teach a player how the world worked was baked into the Red War campaign and that got ripped out forever ago. It's only gotten worse for new players over time, not better.

I agree with this. The structure of the new light experience is a convoluted mess.

Why are we responsible for keeping them playing? Lol if someone wants to leave because they don’t want to Google something let them

Of course not they aren’t playing. But are you going to play in a fire team with 100s of 1000s of guardians at the same time? Regardless of what everyone whines about concerning the difficulty changes there will still be enough guardians out there form a fire team and run content. 9 years into a game is not the time to start worrying about whether or a not a brand new player is out slaying in patrol zones. It’s about retaining your core community

Not these generations of gamers. Most move on, or go to other games. They are easily turned off by what destiny tried to do or be. While we might say "good, we don't want players like that," that mentality will be destiny's weak points. Instead of attracting new players and keeping them, they leave and take their friends with them
-
Exactly, and its not like there weren’t challenging activities available to the hardcore players. It makes one wonder why bungie is deliberately hurting their own game.
-
Options like how you can run a campaign normal or legend. Have that option for activities as well.
-
Well patrol simply should not be the nightmare it is on the new destination. Also duos and trios are being harshly punished by a developer who has always maintained that destiny is a multiplayer game. It is easier to do the legendary activities by yourself now!
-
Yea, I'm sure with all this backlash bungie getting, they going to tone down or adjust a few things. But when? That is a mystery lol
-
Right, hopefully sooner rather than later.
-
You also can’t let them bring the game down or dumb it down. If they put the time in they’ll get it. It’s not that hard.
-
Can’t dumb the game down when difficulty is selectable. 🤷
-
They can and they did.
-
They can do anything, pointless thing to say. We are talking about causation. Optioning easier difficulty doesn’t affect the design of the intended difficulty or optional higher difficulties. The Nightfall playlist proves that.
-
So what’s your point?

Editado por MC 077 Lasombra: 3/13/2023 7:47:32 PMBesides being right when you said I’m wrong? How about that smarty pants? That it’s better for the game, as it lets new players acclimatize to the game better. No one likes a game where they drop in overwhelmed. So more engagement, more players, more people to do harder content with. I dunno, I see a lot of win-win there. What’s the downside? You have to pick a difficulty level, brrrrr. Bungie has had to address this issue more than once, which as a D1 vet, you ought to know if you are one. So your argument is self serving crap that doesn’t help anyone. Even yourself. Geniuses abound on these forums.

I don’t have a -blam!- argument. I don’t give a -blam!- what they do or what you think. You -blam!- turd.

That’s what I expect from critical thinkers. Big hurt mad cause wrong wrong
