I keep seeing posts on tik tok of people who barely play the game all upset how the tangled shore is going away. We gotta realize we’re not paying to own the content. We’re paying for access to it for the time it’s around. If that’s upsetting then maybe this isn’t your game? There’s no other option. If we want to get new expansions the old ones have to go. I would rather get new expansions.

1 ResponderEditado por Mugen141: 1/24/2022 6:03:33 AMI've played a ton of MMOs in my time and I've never seen another company remove paid content the way Bungie does. You can try to defend it all you want but it's a bad practice. I understand the practicality but you can't expect people to be okay with paying for something only to have it taken away.
-
Honestly tho this is the only game I’ve seen that removes paid content.

5 RespostasOr they could add content and let the players worry about storage space on thier consoles/pcs. Or they could do what mcc does and allow players to install parts of the game they want to engage with. So if I don't want moon content I won't have moon installed. I'm actually fine with them removing campaigns or planets. I am not fine with them removing any of the following:, 1. Raids 2. Dungeons 3. Strikes 4. Pvp maps 5. Gambit maps

5 RespostasWhy shill for the removal of content? Why announce that you have stockholms? Why?

To be honest I’ve played destiny 2 to death and getting rid of old gear for new stuff is ok with me.

1 ResponderEven though I don’t care that a 3 year old location is going away, a lot of people do. I’ve never played a game that removes older dlc content, even if it’s because destiny’s spaghetti code can’t handle it bungie should’ve just made a new game instead of trying to support one which has to have content removed to keep going. Not sure how true it is, but I read that the content vaulting started because bungie changed a lot of code behind the scenes and had to update everything. They didn’t feel like updating certain activities with low player counts so they removed them. If this is the case then why is vaulting still a thing?

3 RespostasNew players and “solo players” who barely play all mad that campaigns are going away need to realize this ain’t a single player game or a free to play game. Anyone who actually plays spends a lot of money every year. It is what it is. If the current system isn’t your thing it’s not going to change. You should play a different game.

4 RespostasPeople put videos of themselves talking about Destiny on tik tok?

It's disturbing that people are complaining about this on tiktok.

Meh, you can't dismiss people being mad about it. Pretty much every game has the same EULA specifying that technically you only own a licence to access the content, but they aren't actively removing content. It's also terrible for game conservation for people who are into that. It is what it is at the end of the day, there's nothing you can do about it, but it's not a bad take to be kinda peeved about it.
-
Or maybe they could learn to code properly and use data properly. Battlefield has 3x the amount of data as this game and has no issues with new maps and old maps. 1 map is 3 planets on this game plus add in all the graphics.
-
2 RespostasBut what about my 6 year old content that less than 1% of people still interact with
-
9 RespostasYea but these peoples don't use logic They live in a fantasy world where everything they think and wishes is facts They honestly think that it would be possible to keep everything and add new stuff with no issue.....armchair developer with no basic knowledge

People can’t accept reality. Bungie has made it clear they’re not making destiny 3. So that only leaves them one option which is to vault old D2 content to make room for new dlc. That’s just the way it is. It’s not up for debate. We can either take it or leave it.

1 ResponderWhile I personally don’t have an issue with content getting vaulted, I want to play Devil’s advocate for a minute. Bungie never clearly disclosed that paid content would be removed from the live service during the game’s life span. Had they been forthcoming from before D2 even launched people could have made more informed purchase decisions. Some may not have pitches D2 if they knew the content would only be accessible for a max of 3 years. Almost no other game works like this. Where the older campaigns become inaccessible while the servers running the game are still active. You may not be able to play under the old rules and leveling system or economy, but you’re more than welcome to replay those old story threads. In fact the amount of content can be used as a marketing ploy to get people to finally jump in for the low low price of the last expansion or two, being able to play years worth of content. Yes this isn’t too different than if Bungie had shut down the D1 servers when ShadowKeep or Beyond Light released. People still enjoy going back and playing D1, even if most of us have long since move on. But unlike that scenario D2 is the current game getting supported with content and sandbox updates. We’re not playing Destiny 3. And it was Bungie’s choice not to hit the “reset” button by releasing a D3 to have a fresh start, not our choice. Had they done so with BL they would not have needed to remove any campaign stories. We would have a new game with only the content Bungie wanted or could include at its release.
