Forsaken is too integral to the story of Destiny to be sunset. In my opinion, the same was true of the red war, but that story was self contained. Forsaken, it’s characters and it’s story are very much still an essential part of the games canon.
Currently as it stands, Destiny 2 doesn’t have a campaign. It’s DLC does, but the base game of Destiny 2 has a handful of missions that take place in Destiny 1, and after that, seasonal game modes. You’ve walked the game back to release Destiny 1, when the game was bare bones, had no story, no narrative to string everything together.
We want to see Bungie moving away from what Activision forced them to do, not spend 7 years working hard to loop around and end up in the same place.
If nothing else, please release the red war and forsaken as optional downloads, I wouldn’t even mind if you charged 1000 silver for people to be able to own this legacy content.
Forsaken, the dreaming city and last wish are all fantastic success stories for Bungie, some of the most impressive art I’ve seen in general. Please stop tearing this game apart.
If you really want to save space, is it possible you might consider compressing your textures? Remove some of the lost sectors?
Having already sacrificed one campaign, it looks really bad that you’re considering sacrificing another, when the base game still doesn’t have a campaign.
That’s the thing about free to play, Bungie. You can’t just reap the benefits of free advertising, you actually need to make some sacrifices to your free to play players. Either of the red war or forsaken would fit that perfectly.
Seriously though, on a personal note;
My old clan and I played leviathan constantly, even when we had no rewards left to claim. We bonded a lot there, throughout the years we’ve grown apart, some of them have passed away etc. the thought that I can’t go back to leviathan, to walk through the halls of those memories, actually really hurts.
Sure, you’re a huge company that’s hardly moved by the hurt feelings of a single gamer. But I have friends who have now passed on, where the last place I saw them was Calus’ throne room.
I would very much like to return there, at least once.
You made art, you gave it to the world, people experienced it. To take it back, to deny people access to art they have connected with, is singularly cruel. Let’s be real, that’s not something Bungie would do, it’s something activision would make Bungie do.
But... activision is gone, so...

3 RespostasDo you really think Activison was the problem? You honestly cant tell from all the lackluster content we are getting now that it was bungies fault?

1 ResponderI didn't realize how much I loved forsaken until it was announce that is was gone. Bungie already got rid of so much to make way for Beyond light. I was looking forward to playing those with my two new characters. And yet now no more Red War. No more Curse of Osiris. No more Warmind. Now no more Forsaken. Honestly. There is a lot of things I could say about this, and none of them good. (Also sorry if this is repetitive I'm just speaking my mind)

17 RespostasForsaken was the high point of D2 and Tangled Shore is one of my favourite destinations but I absolutely cannot abide the fact you encouraged Bungie to resell us content we already paid for. Content has to be cut for a story to move onward and Forsaken and TTS represent a place out of time. Crow’s and possibly Spider’s story need to move onward and they can’t do that without it being jarring if they still exist in their previous versions.

1 ResponderThe fact the base game no longer has a campaign kinda sucks.

1 ResponderWild how you can only do the campaign 1 time on each character. Why do we won't it taking up space? I barely wanted to do that campaign 1x let alone 3x+. I had to do the the main story 6x it's not fun its tedious. No one is doing the campaign more than 3x.

2 RespostasI’m with you on this bro, but the problem is not particularly the file size, it’s rather the game engine. If they could, I’m sure they would keep everything in the game, but the engine is very shaky, and the more content they add, the less stable it becomes. I could go into detail about it, but sadly until they upgrade the engine, the vaulting is the best solution so far. (And I’m saying that despite hating the whole vaulting thing)

12 RespostasHope your not expecting people to pay 1000 silver for content they already paid for??? You may be happy to do so but that's absurd.

Editado por Rogue: 10/12/2021 7:18:09 AMEven for paying customers. Do you have any idea how jarring beyond light is as an entry point? My partner has just started playing, and every cutscene is people talking about characters he doesn’t know, places he hasn’t been, events he hasn’t experienced. All the while having it shoved down his throat that “oh this is so different than normal, stasis is super new and different and not the light.” Like, this dude barely even knows what the traveller is, hasn’t even unlocked his light subclasses, and he’s already knee deep in stasis. The canon, continuity, pacing and monetisation of this game is truly a mess. I bring this up because I can’t see who it benefits. Not Bungie, not the players old or new. You need the red war to connect with Cayde, or his death means nothing. You need forsaken to have the context going into beyond light. To just start D2 in Beyond light is light starting a book series at the third instalment. It’s honestly a little embarrassing, and I really don’t want to sling insults at Bungie. I truly do love the art you guys produce. But things as they are, are a mess. —-Subsetting curse of osiris and warmind was harmless. They were tiny expansions that, if I’m honest, we’re never even worth creating. It’s thanks to curse of osiris and Warmind that destiny 2 is so old, while releasing beyond light and witch queen. Without wasting those two years, the 3 year life span of content would be much more tolerable. But we don’t live in that reality, all we can do is try to improve what we have now.
