You'd just get stomped by solos. It's fine as is.

I seem to only play against stacks in Control less than 10% of the time. About 1 in 12 matches. When I do at least the games end really quickly and I don’t see them again.

I disagree, when I don't get team shotted I'm doing just fine.

6 solos make a team. It’s still 6 vs 6. You’re still going to get team shot.

Actually....it doesn't get any better. In fact, when I play ib Freelance it's generally sweatier than regular ib against stacks. In D1 we had a freelance called mercenary. I was nowhere near as good as I am now. It was MUCH worse than regular control/clash. It didn't make it any better. At least if I went against a stack it was only once in a while. Unlike in solo play where....THE PEOPLE WHO JUST ENJOY PVP TEND TO SOLO RUN JUST TO GO IN. How do I know this? I do this now.

people think they will magically become good players if... if they have freelance, if they have weapon x, if this gets nerfed, if everything but if they tried to improve. freelance IB is every bit as bad as regular matchmaking, the D1 freelance was a failure, and yet we get people who expect it to solve their problems here, it doesn't make sense.

they need to blame something for their lack of knowledge and skill. freelance or not the blueberries will still go double negative.

With the way the game currently works and with what guardians can do compared to what they could do in D1 freelance modes should at least be considered something to look into. There's real issues around the way teams tend to end up with far better connections simply because of the fact that they can be made of people that cause them to for various different reasons, from internet quality, to location, and also the numbers that they are "stacking." It might be a good way to separate the more competitive side of a given playlist from the more casual side. Who knows though, with this game its often just your time to lose when its your time to lose. But maybe removing teams from a more competitive playlist would result in the game having to manage less times to lose.

I think that when all things are considered, IB freelance easily works the best overall out of all the playlists in the game. But whether or not someone thinks that kind of depends on what they consider to be a successful playlist in light of certain things that are unique to Destiny. Like Titans, if there were a playlist with no Titans that could very well be the most successful playlist. Wouldn't you agree that they should look into separating Titans into their own playlist? Oh, I also forgot. With a lot of the people who play stacked all the time the reason they give for not wanting freelance options is because then they would have to play more stacked teams. So what is that?

Bag over your head pretending the matchmaking is horribly unbalanced. That one or two people get the lion's share of kills for both teams and the rest are fodder. It's been complained about vigorously as well. Poke some eye holes in the bag.

I always said if I ever played a Titan I would do it with a bag on my head though. The one or two people getting the lions share of kills thing is a problem and so there's no reason to pretend like that's not the reason why a lot of people play on teams. It makes it more likely that the one or two people doing that are on your team. And you will still be playing against teams with more solos who have no communication and you will have a connection advantage on top of that. Remember the "unique to Destiny" thing I said earlier? There are issues around how people wind up doing that in regards to whatever it is they use to determine skill in this game but even if that system were perfect there are going to be people who are better than other people in a lot of lobbies if the game works right. If peoples' problem is that they just can't stand the sight of someone doing better than them then that's fine to, but all that should be kept to the more casual playlists. Because the funny thing is that when the game starts trying to hand out wins it makes it so those one or two people are still at the top of the lobby but its all far more fake.

never once went into how matchmaking works, pulling side bars out your ass to think you got a grasp on something. I said it's unbalanced and it is. people tend to play in teams because it's a team based game, they enjoy playing with friends and clan mates, or want to win. everyone has communication, it's built into the game. if they use it to equalize things or not is a totally different story. if the balancing works right it should never be 1 or people doing everything. they are being burdened, and the rest are fodder to them. makes in zero fashion any different of a stomping that the regular playlist offers. oh guess since you say leave it to the "casual" playlist you don't even know the topic under discussion. the regular "casual" playlist.
