Tbh trials should’ve never returned but the community begged for 2 years for it to return. It’s really just not a game mode that engages most people. Imo they need to make a new 3v3 “competitive” mode all together. Honestly if you want my 2 cents we need new core activities as a whole. Not new strikes or pvp modes, but a whole new activity that becomes our new “gambit” of sort. I’m sure that’d be a massive pain, and I can’t even begin to imagine what it would be, but the 3 core activity system has just grown stale to most. The only people I would be content with letting take over as director would be a lead dev from WoW, as much as people like to trash on Luke for his scarab lord title, that is what this game needs. Someone with a very finite understanding of MMOs from both the player and the developer perspective. But as it stands now, Luke is that guy, and until he pushes us back down to 100k daily players, I trust the dude to make the right choices, in the end. At first, sure he might make mistakes, we all do. As long as they’re corrected (like the fixes made to Y1) then it’s fine by me. Just please don’t take a year next time.

  • Fair enough. Sadly the lack of new core activities is a symptom of greed. Bare minimum output for a steady stream of cash flow. Destiny is being held in stasis (pardon the pun) because it has achieved equilibrium, it keeps about the same predictable amount of players and therefore a predictable income. Bungie obviously is not interested in making something great, thats why joe staten is no longer there.
