Thought we were getting your wish a couple of seasons ago with the Komodo quest.... but no!

Heavy linears need some fine tuning. Right now, there's nothing a HLFR can do that other weapons don't do just as well, if not better. Arbalest should be left alone, though. Buffing it is asking for problems in PvP. Give it more damage vs. bosses and elemental shields but leave it at that.

We need a non exotic trace rifle as well.

We need BETTER linear fusion rifles, as are they simply do not belong in the heavy slot.

Me personally, i have a few opinion's about liniar's that I'd like to share, especially since i love them, but admit their mostly not worth using. (JUST MY THOUGHTS, NOT SAYING THIS IS FACT). 1. All liniars except sleeper stimulant, should be energy ammo bassed. As to why i feel this way, almost every conceivable detail about liniar's, can, and will get outshined by snipers, except for 2. I'd even argue these 2 details would still make snipers look better. Liniar's have no tunel vision, and liniars can 1 shot supers, where only hi-impact snipers can. Their damage for the most part wouldn't be a match. Even with the potentiall exception of line in the sands god roll, snipers would still outshine liniar fusions. This is 1 reason why i feel Liniar's except sleeper stimulant shouldn't be heavy weapons. 2. Before anybody here thinks i forgot about Arbelest, how could i? I was thrilled to see a liniar fusion i could actually use way back in the revelry. Only other moment i can think of that made a liniar fusion usable/potentially meta, was the beggining of gambit. Liniar's were busted, especially pre nerf queenbreakers (which was a specail weapon in d1). Let's be hypothetical here. Say snipers didn't exist, but liniar fusions did. What out their, would cause you to willingly use a liniar fusion, in either casual or high end activities in d2, except Arbalest and sleeper? I'd love to use liniars for anything, but to me, liniar fusions don't do nearly enough damage, to warrent them being heavy weapons, with the obvious exception of sleeper stimulant. It even made sense to me how sleeper was ironically a heavy weapon in d1. Those are my 2 points that i feel warrent liniar fusions (except sleeper), should be energy based. I do want to note, liniar fusions need to get this help, if they are to be even considered usable. However, if these changes should or should not happen, is a completly different story. Me personally, i want it to happen. I started loving these cause I'd enjoy sniping, if i could adjust to tunnel vision. We have no iron sights sniper in d2, and d1 had "no land beyond", so theirs nothing else for me. I do admit, im not saying these changes, or any changes to Liniar's should, or should not happen. This is purely just me saying, if Liniar's get looked at for help, this is what i feel, should happen. Liniar's are unique, and have great potential to be impactful, and loved in destiny. If bungie still feels some bit of their intuation to create, and evolve on unique ideas (i highly doubt this), then i feel they should help liniar fusions like this. That's as best as i can describe it. Thank you for reading, and lets hope these guns don't stay looking like wasted effort forever. I love liniar fusions, but i won't deny what they currently look like.

Agreed that there needs to be more but more importantly. They need tuning. The fact that I’d rather use pretty much any other weapon in my heavy slot means a lot. They just feel like they are lacking something. Maybe they should pierce enemies like sleeper or do something along the lines of “rapid hits decrease charge time”. I’m not sure exactly what needs to be done but they just don’t feel very special.

Keep the damage output on em as is, make em all standard fusion rifles, and give em all special ammo.

CF has good rolls what you talking about. I have box breathing and high impact reserves.

Its definitely an unrepresented weapon archetype. I decided to resurrect my Xbox account for New Light to see if it was worth coming back to Destiny for Season of Arrivals, and it's linear fusion rifles are extremely rare if you are beginning Destiny 2 from scratch with New Light. And the game rubs this in your face everytime Banshee has a bounty for linear fusion rifles.

They should also make them special weapons like they're supposed to be.

Don't forget making them Special Weapons

The only legendary linear fusion rifle that you can use in the winter is Line in the sand. Tbh though linears should become special ammo weapons.

Hmmm not sure if we need more arbalest such that it can one head shot while the guy is behind you.

Proof that linears do more than xeno? Because Ehroar vids say otherwise, they need a rework or a buff
