Days of the future cats? Interesting indeed. Who doesn’t like cats? Even if they are future cats cats are cats and cats are good.
Is that saying you want in? I'm assuming that's what it meant, so I'll post this!
"HIIIIIIIIIIIIII!" A woman yelled, suddenly appearing behind you. "My name's Molly, communications officer of the Black Egrets! I'm here to help you set up your character sheet! So, first thing's first, let's talk about your attack slots! You have 5 of them, and can fill them with any attacks you want! Bear in mind, though, that this 5 limit is divided between regular attacks, and special ones. What's the difference? Well, regular attacks can be used as many times as you want! Melee strikes will always be singular powerful hits, and ranged strikes will strike at least 2+ times, but with lighter hits. They'll also always add up to the same attack total (20). Special attacks have to have some sort of limit on them. An regenerating mana bar, a certain amount of shots before needing to refuel at an ammo station, simply needing to reload, etc. Can be whatever you want! They can also break the 'melee single powerful strike', 'ranged multi weaker strike' rule, and their damage values can be higher (the less you can use it = higher damage). These also include things like heals, status buffs, and the ability to analyze enemies. Things to keep in mind when choosing powers; Enemies will either be Melee (M), Ranged (R), and/or Visible (V). You'll need to match up your attacks with the enemy type to hit them. Most attacks will only be able to hit Visible enemies, but if something does hit invisible ones (like a homing missile or something), then it'll be MUCH weaker than standard moves. Enemies can have Defense (DEF), and Multi-Thresholds (MLT). DEF means they'll knock off a certain amount of damage with each strike, meaning single powerful hits will be more effective. MLT means they'll be able to tank a certain number of strikes each turn, so multiple weaker strikes will be better. You'll always have a move to raise your own DEF by 1 for that turn, and a move to raise your MLT for 2 for that turn. (Defend and Dodge respectively) So, no need to worry about sacrificing an attack slot for these! You can't see enemy health bars by default, but you can give yourself some sort of scan ability if you'd like to! In addition to these you'll have Blockbuster attacks, which is where you'll want your super cool finisher moves. So, save those. Damage values will be determined by Aifos, so don't bother listing those. Just say what you want the attack to be, and what targets (M)(R)(V) you want it to hit!"

Ol. I don’t have a lot of time today but I will work on the character when I can. Edvard the Bard shall be a amazing hero!

Okay. The RP won't be starting for a little while, so that's no issue, but I will need to record it down on my computer, which I don't have a lot of the time, which might cause some problems... Anyway, in addition to basic attacks, you'll also need 2 blockbusters, and an optional passive ability; positive passives will lower your max HP, negative ones will raise it.

Editado por Warlock Holmes: 5/10/2020 5:03:37 PMOk here is a first draft. Vicious mockery(R)(V): the bard unleashes a stream of magical insults, cryptic poetry, and harmful words to a enemy im range. Now I was thinking this would do a small amount of damage and have a chance of debuffing the enemy. Rapier(V)(M): The bard carriers a rapier around with him in case he needs it. He prefers range. Healing song special ability(V): the bard is able to sing a magical song of healing. A number of people that he can see (or himself) regain hit points. This special ability can only be used once and then he must have a some drink to clear his vocal cords. Magical Secrets(R)(V): so you may want to edit this ability to balance it. Anyways I wanted to make the character more adaptable. Basically the ability let’s the bard mimic any spell like ability he can see. Basically he sees a ability and then stores the magic to release it when he sees fit. Releasing it creates a slightly weaker version of the stored ability. For example if he watches a person shoot a lightning bolt for 20 points of damage then he can store that lightning bolt spell and cast it later but instead for 10 points of damage or 15 or something. Also has a long cool down like only 4 times per day or something. Bardic inspiration/cutting words(R)(V): the bard utters words or phrases of inspiration before or during a battle. A ally who can be seen within range gets inspired and gets increased defense. Now when there is no ally’s around the bard can use cutting words. Basically the opposite of bardic inspiration where he launches a stream of harmful magical words on the enemy’s increasing his own defense. Irresistible dance(Blockbuster)(level 3)(V): the bard plays his lute and sings a happy tune. All enemy’s that can hear have a chance to start dancing uncontrollably basically immobilizing them. Glyph of warding(Blockbuster) (Level 3): the bard creates a magical ruin of warding on a certain object or location of his choice. This ruin can be set to activate under certain conditions such as a certain person walking nearby or the ruin being touched. Once the conditions are activated the ruin will explode in a wave of magical force. Legends lore(passive): The bard is a trained historian and a wanderer seeking our tales to tell. He has a 50% chance to be able to identify lore of a area/person/or item.

Alright, so this is what I got, adapting these to the combat system. Edvard the Bard (Warlock Holmes) HP: 100/100 BB: 5/5 Vicious Mockery: 10 DMG (R)(V)(Hurts enemy's feelings, lowering MLT by 1 on the next turn) Rapier: 20 DMG (M)(V) Healing Song: Heal all allies for 40 HP. (A)(1/1 Casts) Magical Secrets: Copy any enemy's attack (max 60 DMG)(5/5 Casts) Bardic Inspiration/Cutting Words: Raise the DEF of either self or ally by 1 for two turns. (A)(4/4 Casts) BLOCKBUSTER: BLOCKBUSTER: Legends Lore: Automatically Analyze any enemy hit by an attack. (Can also analyze locations, if I make that a thing) Legends Lore lowered max health by 50. You'll notice I left the blockbusters blank, because I'd like to talk on those. An immobilization against all enemies seems a little op, especially for only a level 3. I think we can raise it to a level 5 if you want to keep that, or immobilizing a single enemy instead. In either case, I think it'd work for 3 turns, and I don't think I could let it work on bosses, at all though. Glyph of Warding works for the most part, but location isn't factored in too heavily in the combat system--it's more along the lines of what you see in video game RPGs, like Final Fantasy, Child of Light, or Brave Dungeon. I was thinking either; A. It could just be a straight up attack. B. It could be set on an ally, and explode if that ally is attacked. Other than that, though, look good?
-
I think it would be fine to make irresistible dance only work on one enemy. For glyph do warding would it work that I could put it on ally’s and myself (in case ally’s are not around.)

Alright, so how does this look, then? Anything you'd like to change? (A)(4/4 Casts) Defend: Raise DEF by 1. This turn only. Dodge: Raise MLT by 2. This turn only. BLOCKBUSTER: Irresistible Dance (3 BB): Send an enemy into a groove, leaving then unable to move for 3 turns. (R)(V)(Doesn't affect boss enemies) BLOCKBUSTER: Glyph of Warding (3BB) Place a rune on either self or ally. When that person is attacked by an enemy, deal 150 DMG to the attacker. (Invisible enemies only take 30 DMG) Legends Lore: Automatically Analyze any enemy hit by one of your attacks. (Can also analyze locations, if I make that a thing)

That sounds good.

Well in that case, be prepared.. For the days of future cats are coming...

Cool! I’ll try to put it into my computer a bit later, and run it by you!
