Swords.... so damn good right now.
I'm loving how good swords are right now. Especially on my titan when paired with stronghold. Add in disruptive blade, passive guard, bleeding edge and concussive dampener. I'm going toe to toe with overload and unstoppable champions

2 Respostasi love them, but cant help but notice.... targeting and random teleports happen alot now. like il be swinging at a captain and.... now im 20 ft away for some reason. or il be swinging at a target annnnddd it turns out i wanted to kill a tree.

Swords are better now than the were last year, but log into D1 for 30 minutes and use Raze Lighter or Dark Drinker and you will see a huge difference right away [spoiler]swords are way better in D1[/spoiler] I logged into D1 last night and patrolled the moon for a bit, using Raze Lighter to get solar kills for the bounty I picked up. Fought a taken boss that likes to spam fire attacks and when my health got low I blocked with the sword and tanked 100% of the damage. [spoiler]block with a sword in D2 and you will still take damage and die, blocking has minimal effect at best[/spoiler] I have been using swords alot more often, not just for the bounties. My Throne Cleaver has 7638 kills so far, 3419 kills on my curated Strykers Surehand. The sword attacks in D2 are slower than D1 and ammo reserves is way lower also. [spoiler]with Armanatarium sword ammo is 112 [/spoiler] Bungie still has a ways to go to get them up to par IMO

besides when i go all over the place before hitting my target yeah the sword is dam fine ps hit detection still need sorting out

I agree that swords are in a great spot right now. But worry not! Bungie is surely to nerf them again next season.

The problem is they were much better before the season if u were a stronghold titan. Bungie first nerfs everything and than gives some buffs and people go ape about it :). They nerfed the reserve first. The season mod enhanced sword reserve gives same as the normal sword reserve before this season and the normal sword reserve was nerfed. Than the block is nerf too if u are stronghold titan. With high defense swords in season before u could block hive axe giant slam without problem and could block forever with stronghold. And they nerfed the bottom tree striker knockout buff too. It worked for swords too for 60 percent plus dmg. Now its not working. Carrot and stick again.

They are good... Until Bungie decides that "they're overused" and nerfs them at the end of the season just like they did with snipers.

There are some actual options to make you tanky enough to use swords this season, but still stomps + peer to peer ruins it for me. Finally blocking is useful instead of just an ammo drain.

Swords were always good tbh, if you timed the aerial attack to counter stomps. Stronghold made them viable in a lot of cases, but I'm slightly intrigued on how good they are now compared.

I liked them better before. I still never bother blocking. Just another dumb mechanic that is very situational and it only works half of the time, it's very glitchy. The only swords that feel better now are the hunter specific ones. Quick fang and gold tusk. Go figure, hunters coming out on top again. The other swords all feel clunkier and hit registration is not any better at all or in some cases it's worse. I still use them a lot but the whole rework on them really didn't do jack shit. All they needed to do with swords was improve their targeting and hit registration (which they didn't do) and maybe improve their lung range by a meter or 2 (which they didn't do).

Yes, one of the few good things about this season. Swords are so much better that I have trouble not equipping one. This is the first time I've really been using Worldline Zero in the 2 years since it released. It is ridiculously good at defending and eats very little energy to use. All swords are vastly improved though.
