The Power Progression system is tedious and destroys fun

So you are playing, you are having fun, doing the thing and then you hit 950 and the numbers aren’t going up anymore. Yes, you can do stuff for pinnacle gear, but you are essentially just doing harder versions of things for the same gear you were getting already, just slightly, potentially better versions. This isn’t fun at that point. I am not against the more challenging things, but my play time isn’t about having fun at that point anymore. Without any form of forward momentum by just having fun in the game, it knocks out the fun in playing the game. Max power doesn’t mean anything beyond the damage input/output. That’s not specifically bad, but when it doesn’t mean anything and you don’t see little numbers growing, doing things start losing meaning. When the milestones don’t have value, doing them loses meaning. Why run strikes beyond getting rid of the marker on your screen? This is why grimoire score is good, you can do things and get a higher number.

As a New Light player, I was so relieved when I got all of my characters up to 960. It was like I could finally actually start playing the game. I could work on my builds, learn how specific weapons worked, experiment, etc. Now I get to be choosy in what gear I’m using. I don’t have to use whatever is the most powerful. I don’t have to worry about being under-levelled.
