So I just came back after 2 years

So I haven't seen anything after the first year of Destiny 2 and it's (in progress) to finish downloading. I was curious to know what all has happened in the past years since launch. What's happened since the first year of D2 since I been gone? Anything good? Anything bad? Nerf's? Buffs? New Raid(s)? I seen the Valentine's festival event is going on again. Did we have another Halloween one too? Heard we had Trials, but didn't we have that before in year 1 of D2? Max level? We still having to use LFG for raids now? Are they even worth it? I was a Sherpa in D1 and loved the raids, even nightfalls were fun...(to an extent). I had fun helping those who didn't have anyone else to do certain quests or challenges, or just wanted a to complete the raid their first times. Anyway, I'm looking to get back into the raid scene again and making a weekly thing like I use to doing a few raids a week and nightfalls. However, my question is all for you since I haven't been back in about 2 years. Is it even worth it? If so, would it be possible to join a new clan, (my clan of 4 years is dead) rip lol. I'm not gonna make this into a LFG post, but I'm rather chill and would love to be with ppl that know or could perhaps get me caught up with everything that's happened since launch. Thank you. :)
Anything good? Anything bad?
There’s a new Seasonal Artifact equipment slot. Obtaining the Artifact allows you to earn mods and additional light levels temporarily (these mods and levels fade at the end of each Season). Armor has changed significantly (Armor 2.0). Weapon slots changed around some with the Forsaken expansion. One new tree was added to each subclass with Forsaken. As well as a new PvE/PvP hybrid mode called Gambit. Bows can now be earned and equipped as weapons, and LMGs have been brought back as weapons. If you’re purchasing the Forsaken campaign, play that fairly early on, as the big story reveal for that campaign happens in the first few minutes. Leave Shadowkeep for after Forsaken. A few exotics from D1 can be earned through certain quests.
Nerf's? Buffs?
Lot’s of nerfs in various places, quite a few buffs here and there.
New Raid(s)?
If you were here for the Osiris and Warmind expansions, that would mean there are four new Raids that were added since then.
I seen the Valentine's festival event is going on again. Did we have another Halloween one too?
We had another Halloween event, another Xmas event, a Spring Solstice event.
Heard we had Trials, but didn't we have that before in year 1 of D2?
Trials of the Nine was suspended some time ago while the devs worked to make it better. It’s heavily expected that Trials will return in some form in the coming Season.
Max level?
The minimum level has been bumped up to 750. You can currently reach a soft cap of 970, with gear maxing out at a hard cap of 980 (the Seasonal Artifact can boost your light level past the hard cap).
We still having to use LFG for raids now? Are they even worth it?
Raids still don’t have matchmaking. As for whether the Raids are worth it, three of the new raids drop new exotic weapons as a rare reward upon completion (two of them are quite good), while the fourth and latest raid has a quest for it’s exotic weapon (also not a terrible weapon). I don’t personally raid, so I can’t comment as to whether or not it’s worth the time investment to play through these raids to earn the various rewards (there’s some decent lore though). (΄◉◞౪◟◉`)

    • Hello. Welcome back. I am by no means the best person the answer all your questions, but I can help with a few. Soft cap is 950, the hard cap is around 995 or higher. Level really doesn’t mean much except as a guide to what you can do. For example there are Ordeal Nightfalls that are level 980. There have been new raids added and new lairs. I’m not a raider so hopefully someone will answer that question better for you. Too many buff and nerfs to go over. Was pvp still 4v4 when you played? If so, it’s changed back to 6v6. They have brought back some D1 maps which is nice as they are made for 12 players. They’ve tried to make changes to the D2 maps but it’s still not great imo for 12 people. LFG is still being used for most things. The harder Nightfalls have matchmaking now. Sorry I can’t answer all your questions. I still play this game, but not nearly as much as I used to. And not even close to how much I played D1. I hope you have fun coming back. It’s not bad. It can get confusing as there’s a lot to do. Good luck!
