I to can lie and say I thought well was op months datto made a video about it

Smoke and fire Did Luke smith say at any point before datto’s video that he thought well was op? No He said it after and used datto’s video as reference Now it may be true, it may not. But, we have 3 community managers, datto did their job in the shadowkeep reveal stream Community will request changes for months on end before they’re even remotely considered. Datto mentions something and it is directly referenced just a couple weeks after If you’re honest you know how it looks, deny it, that’s fine your choice. But it is the truth. It looks dodgy as hell
-
Are you kidding me. Game development takes time. "referencing it in a video" doesn't mean they hadn't seen the forums before. We are still "months on end" before they'll nerf it because they have to first think about how they'll nerf it, then playtest it and see how it feels, change it and try again until they find the best way they can improve it. They can't just go "hey, let's remove Lunafaction boots, halve Well's healing and remove its damage buff" as soon as they see someone (whether its a streamer or a random dude in the feedback forums) complain about it. It takes "months on end" not because they ignore player feedback in favor of youtubers, it takes months on end BECAUSE THAT'S JUST HOW MUCH TIME IT TAKES.
Did Luke smith say at any point before datto’s video that he thought well was op?
Yes. When they nerfed Phoenic Protocol & all the other super regenerating exotics at the start of SoO.

So he said that well was game breaking op, made everything too easy? Or did they just nerf it Then mention that it’s op after datto made a video

Editado por Jvp WReNCh: 8/15/2019 1:21:52 PM
So he said that well was game breaking op, made everything too easy? Or did they just nerf it Then mention that it’s op after datto made a video
Firstly, they haven't done anything to it yet. Secondly, they said it was game breaking:
Destiny Dev Team: For Season of Opulence, several notable weapons are being adjusted. We want to ensure that encounters—raids and other endgame content, for example—remain a challenge. Some of these weapons have been overwhelming that challenge. Our first choice is to buff underused weapons, but if we continue to push every weapon up higher and higher, it will be impossible to maintain challenging experiences. This is not a full list of changes, but some of the most impactful. Along with the weapons above, we will also be making some changes to some Exotic armor pieces. Primarily, we’re paying attention to pieces of Exotic armor that grant back Super energy. We felt they are increasingly becoming “must-pick” gear choices. Orb generation from teammates is meant to be the best way to accelerate your Super generation. These Exotics are allowing players to bypass this teamwork mechanic by generating a large amount of Super energy without relying on other players’ orbs. Also, because these items are so overwhelmingly strong in situations where players face off against large numbers of enemies, some activities were designed considering the use of armor such as Orpheus Rigs, Phoenix Protocol, Skull of Dire Ahamkara, etc. This means if someone in your fireteam doesn't have these Super Exotics equipped, the activity becomes far more difficult. We are making some changes to these armor pieces to try to preserve their power fantasy and still leave them as viable choices for difficult activities without making players feel like they must have them equipped or be at a huge disadvantage.
https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/47823

Ok great thanks It already took the nerf people are requesting based on said article So why is it being looked at again after datto made a video about it
-
Because they haven't stopped looking about it between the moment they saw players complain about it and the moment Datto made a video about it ? Because "deciding something is worth nerfing" isn't the same as "figuring out how to nerf something without making it useless" and that one of those two takes more time ? Because that's just how responsible game development happens ? You first analyse the problem, come up with a bunch of possible solutions, then you try them all to see what feels better and then implement it before testing it a lot to make sure it doesn't break anything else ? What did you expect ? That they'd have a magic "nerf" stick they waved around to fix it and that they were arbitrarily waiting for shadowkeep to release it ? No. They're waiting because it takes time. End of story.
-
Your first mistake is assuming they’re responsible Your second is thinking they don’t cater to a small percentage of their playerbase
-
It's not. The order you're seeing things isn't the order they happened.
-
Item gets looked at Item gets nerfed Streamer makes video Guy claims item was being looked into(again) And yet it simply looks like Luke smith is appeasing datto since said item was already nerfed
-
It's NOT already nerfed. They were already in the long process of nerfing it properly to avoid making it useless or breaking anything else.
-
Yeah it kinda took a nerf already. Not too long ago But you do you
-
It looks that way to a layman. Bungie doesn't just flip a nerf switch to make changes. If they're nerfing well, they've been planning & experimenting ways to go about it for months. You seeing a Datto video before someone at Bungie told you about what they're doing doesn't mean they made the decision based on the video.
-
Except that’s completely how it looks And let’s be honest, wouldn’t be the first time would it
-
You are simply mistaken. Bungie does their due diligence and doesn't make any chanhes until they look at data, which is what has the final word.
-
Yes, it would be. Again, the moment they tell you about something isn't the moment they start working on it.
-
And yet they seem to coincide quite perfectly with when they are cried about
-
No they don't. I already gave you a link of Bungie saying basically what Datto said months ago.
-
Because people are still steam rolling content
-
Doesn’t answer the question as to why after already taking a nerf It is being looked at again Nor does it answer the question as to whether they were really still Looking immediately after the nerf and not bringing it up again because datto made a video See here’s the thing, people are so quick to jump on the “you hate streamers” wagon but so far I am yet to encounter one single post that addresses the questions I have asked. What I get instead is round about answers to different things that do not answer the asked question
-
Because you're asking a question only a bungie employee can answer, and because none of us work for bungie you're asserting your position must be correct. To that I ask, can you prove they weren't already looking into nerfing well of Radiance?
-
And you're answering a question only a Bungie employee can answer. Asserting your position, to be correct. You said it yourself. Only a Bungie employee would know. Instead of saying that, or not even attempting to assert...anything...you say this
Because people are still steam rolling content

Because maybe they felt it hadn't been nerfed enough.

because....maybe
-
People are still steam rolling content Fact Bungie had previously looked into well A fact proven by the nerf of phoenix protocol. And frankly, them not feeling its been nerfed enough is supported by them saying there will be changes coming to it. Why would they consider changing it after a nerf? Because they feel it hasn't been nerfed enough.
-
People will always steam roll content. So now you assert this notion that Bungie's reason to nerf...is to stop people steam rolling content and that a general....all purpose nerf....to auto regen exotics....is grounds for that. I'm not asserting my opinion on the subject. I observed and responded specifically to you. Not once did I even mention the subject at hand. I brought awareness to your train of thought. You claim only Bungie can answer....yet you still try to answer.
d'oh
