You do realize they did have balance in PvP right? But then everyone couldn't live with Random Rolls. And speculation is still needed. Where are the sources in the article as they're all very vaguely talked about. I'll stick with my experience of the two companies so far as I played Activision games since CoD:WaW. You go ahead and keep that article from 2017 close to your heart. And Eververse besides the initial push in D2(which wasn't the best I heard. It's been too long since then for me to remember it 100%) has been good. You could attain all cosmetics through gameplay and still can(Except for the more recent one but even then they have the Best of Y1 for all those who may not have played in Y1).
You go back to COD world at war to reference Activision, but dismiss an article from 2017 as too old 😂😂 We also aren't getting an event engram..... Also the sources are from staff AT Bungie lmao

  • I gave WaW as an example. I played WaW, MW 1,2,3, BO 1,2,3(I left after 3 became as reskinned Destiny), Advanced Warfare and Ghosts. Actual copies of what Activision has put out and an article with alluded sources doesn't warrant my time on reading. I'd rather play from the company instead of hear speculation or hear-say about said company. This isn't my first rodeo. And we may not be getting an event engram but we'll still be getting Bright Dust to get what we'd like. And go through that and give me some real names from it all.

  • You are highly entertaining ☺ I give you actual proof, you give me your opinions ☺ You also miss the point, at the first opportunity Bungie have removed engrams (with a knock out mechanic) and replaced them with direct purchase for money, or by using a currency that drops in small amounts from grindy bounties or deleting loot, that they have made less prevalent. That is IndeBun. Bungie-Vision were ironically more generous ☺

  • Proof? Where are the names of those sources? Anyone can write an article without legit facts. It's been done in this day and age just for the clicks. ANd I'm not missing the point. It may be setup differently this Season but the bottom line is still there: you can play to attain what you'd like. Plus this is the first Season of this. We'll see what comes of Eververse come Shadowkeep as like I said. They're still gaining thier independent footing and trying to find a good bar to set on most things.

  • Smh, Jason Schreier is a respected journalist. Do you not understand the point of anonymous sources being protected by their interviewer? This is the accepted version of events leading up to the release of Destiny, and has never been refuted by Bungie, which it would be if it was inaccurate, as you claim. Where are YOUR sources to refute this? Soooooo Bungie introduce more monetisation in the game, but that's ok..... because all of the monetisation before was Activision? Is that the point you are trying to make?

  • Never heard of the guy. But you do you. And no, they add the ability to buy things outright(whereas if you bought the packs of engrams before you had a CHACNE of getting what you may have wanted). With direct purchases that are available at all times you can get what you want directly for money. Or save up your Bright Dust(which you can earn by completing Eververse bounties or by JUST PLAYING THE GAME like you always have. And I don't enjoy articles with anonymous sources. Gives you free-reign to say what you'd like. Destiny 1 and 2 have been great(D2 was a bit of a rough start but it picked up April 2018 and has been just as good as Destiny 1 since). I don't care as to what happened in the initial build of things. From what I read somewhere the story to the higher ups was "too linear". From what I can tell they fixed that and I've had fun delving into the lore and many other things in game. But I mean if you have problems with it you're free to have those problems. I personally have a problem with Rally Barricade's dip but I mean that's one of the few small gripes I have but I still play and have fun anyway. Bungie is it's own entity now. How about we wait a bit beyond Shadowkeep to see just their studio in action and go from there. It's what I plan on doing and have been waiting for since I first heard about an Activision/Bungie partnership.

  • It doesn't give you "free reign" due to the fact that the people giving the interview know what was said. Again, Bungie have never argued against this version of events, and would have if it was even the slightest bit inaccurate. As to earning bright dust through playing the game, you can get it by breaking down duplicates.... but seeing as you get 100 bright dust from breaking down duplicate armour, but the cheapest piece to buy (class item) costs 800, I suspect the idea is to encourage purchases with real money. Bungie have always had control over Destiny, the majority of the poor decisions have been down to them. I don't need to "wait and see" to be sceptical of Destiny's future

Exotics get you 500 bright dust and if you play enough Bright Dust comes and goes like the tides man. Sometime you spend a lot but then you accumulate it easily. Play a lot and it doesn't become a concern. Though I will say the Tribute Hall was a bit wth? But beyond that it's been good and I've been able to get what I like. And why would Bungie want to comment on an article in 2017 when the game was done and they were already on D2? Let alone with anonymous sources, who knows who you're hearing it from. I like articles with sources. Why would they need to be anonymous when they're no longer working there and D1 was already done?
Bungie have always had control over Destiny, the majority of the poor decisions have been down to them. I don't need to "wait and see" to be sceptical of Destiny's future
That's your take and you're entitled to it. I'll go along and keep enjoying Destiny.

  • The staff didn’t leave, they still work there. That's the point of the anonymity. Yes exotics break down into 500 bright dust, but they cost 2500+, it still is there to encourage purchases with cash. I still play Destiny, doesn't mean I have to like Bungie though
