Not sure about the final boss (my team didn't quite make it there), but a fair amount of it is not to difficult to figure out, a little trial and error and we figured out most of the mechanics in a decent amount of time. What actually took us probably the longest is just simply not being able to do them, mostly because of dying. Turns out that always being at a disadvantage (especially 25 under) can be rather brutal, especially with the token mechanic. As for is it ever obvious, it kind of depends on the raid, eater of worlds was pretty obvious throughout the whole thing, spire on the other hand took a fair amount more to figure out (that raid can be fairly complex). Crota was not all that complicated or hard to figure out either.

  • I would actually say they are probably about even, this one is maybe a bit harder due to having more enemies in its encounters, and requiring more adaptation (something a fair amount of people have a lot more trouble with for some reason). Again can't speak for the final encounter because I haven't gotten there yet. It is also somewhat hard to fully tell because we are currently underlevel for this new raid, meaning that even thrawl can kill you somewhat easily and can take more than a punch to kill. I am mainly guessing that they will end up being about equal because I am assuming it will get a fair amount easier once we are the correct level. There are a fair amount more enemies but they are mostly pretty weak, even at 25 below we are killing them pretty effectively. Really the thing that is going to determine how easy or hard people find it, is going to be how well they can adapt to things. Scrounge has a fair amount less adaptation, but does require some skilled played like snipers. This one doesn't seem to require a certain number of skilled players to do specific tasks, but does require everyone to be able to adapt to the situation they are in, basically everyone has to be able to do everything, and change up what is happening if things go wrong. You don't have nearly as specific rolls in this one, just more so general two person teams, which even that isn't set in stone because you might have to run off and help another team if you can, or change team members part way through (which we ended up doing in the second last encounter). If you are fine with adaptation, then you will likely find this raid to be not very hard (at least up until the boss as far as I know), but if you are one of the many that have a fair amount of trouble with adaptation, then this raid might be a lot harder. I would say spire is currently one of the most difficult raids for basically everyone, tons of enemies spawn, an insane number of mechanics, about 4 of which are instant death ones, requires a fair amount of adaptability, and requires 2 somewhat stronger players to kill more and be the leaders of callouts and organization (kind of a captain and co-captain). And I would say this new raid is likely easier than spire, if nothing else. At least up until the boss fight.

    Crystals/Blessing buff makes the whole raid harder than Scourge??? [spoiler] Plus having to pass buffs and be aware of specific enemies to shoot throughout, along with extremely very important crystals?? [/spoiler] You're right. Scourge is harder.

  • I am confused, I said this raid is likely a bit hard than scourge, or at least most will find that to be the case since this one requires more adaptation than scourge (I find more people have problems with adaptation, one of the main reasons many had trouble with wrath of the machine). Or did you mean that you agree spire is harder?
