All quests should have a PvE and a PvP path right to the end. The Thorn quest started well but then reverted to must complete PvP and must complete PvE elements.
Give people the choice. They’ll be happier and are more likely to keep playing if they’re happy.

But I want the lore for the Ace of Spades because Cayde was my favourite character; I don’t want to head shot with a hand cannon in PVP though because it’s frustrating and tedious.

If you wanted the lore that bad, you'd look it up or kill 25 people with headshots (not hard).

The point isn’t that I want to read it, the point is that I want my guardian to experience it. I’m not saying get rid of pvp just give people more than one way to complete these quests because some of us genuinely can’t stand that element of the game.

So stop being a little PvE -blam!- and play 3-5 matches of crucible.

Hey, more power to you if you like that element of the game just feels off to me personally that the final farewell to a beloved character is locked away from those of us who don’t enjoy that part of the game needlessly; headshots with s hand cannon? Easy peasy! Head shots in the crucible ... less so.

All right, consider this, would you rather be matched against people who WANT to be there or those who are only there because they HAVE to be? I read a post from a user who’d just sit their character down and wait out the matches; they didn’t want to play but they had to participate to continue a quest. Also, forcing crucible into things that make no sense just breeds annoyance; twice as many people play PVE compared to PVP so it’s probably safe to say users prefer that part of the game.

So you should walk around shooting AI for 30 minutes to get whatever you want? Sorry but if you dont go into crucible, you dont deserve the gun. And 33% of the population is a big number when crucible is just supposed to be "another mode".

Yes I would rather! Thirty AI is thirty headshots and thirty kills, easy and hassle free! And my point is that if only 30% of a player base is doing a thing it’s really not the wisest mode to force people to play. You didn’t answer the question ...

eLiTisT is just a -blam!- term the casuals made for when they are attacked by someone who spends for than 30 minutes a day on a certain game. This game was supposed to be an mmo/fps/looter shooter (for hardcore players) until the casuals came and wanted everything to be 10 times easier.

Look, i get you are struggling with a 0.6 kd, but it doesnt mean you have to complain every time something takes more than 10 minutes to do.

Look at all the cares I give! Oh wait, I don’t; see I’m not playing the game the way you are, kds mean exactly nowt to me, I’m just over here playing for the story and the lore. Heck, I wouldn’t mind if the pve campaign to get said weapon was twice as long or more difficult, I’d happily tackle vex minds and cabal captains with enormous health bars over hitting the PvP where people seem to take things far too seriously.

Because you like it, dude. You like that mode so you’d naturally be good at it. I don’t so I’m not good at it. Again, we play very different games; my character thinks crucible is wasteful so she doesn’t play it, nothing wrong with that. Stop getting bent out of shape over how I and others like me play; we’re not asking for things to be handed to us, just for another way to earn it. Have crucible exclusive weapons but don’t stick a PvP step in general quests, it’s just a lazy attempt to get people playing that mode. You never did answer my question so I’ll ask it again; would you rather go up against people who feel forced to play or those who want to? There’s no challenge in taking people like me out cos we dun care, people like yourself who want unto be there are more fun, surely?

Not sure what maths has to do with it? Again, you haven’t answered the question. Easy kills aren’t fun; taking down an opponent who doesn’t know what they’re doing isn’t fun at all.

That's why i play comp. I dont really understand your point but getting 25 headshots in quickplay isnt hard, like at all.
