Ok I have been meaning to right this post for a while so ok here goes... Where is the power fantasy in D2 ? With adds that scale with you, what is power level any more ? It’s simply a number next to your name which Bungie thinks we want to chase like some kind of blind morons. Where’s the power fantasy ? I’m not saying I want to spawn into the EDZ and look at a dreg and his knees shake and he kills himself but we need a power fantasy nonetheless, maybe the adds should scale within 20-30 levels of us ? Power level is irrelevant, meaningless and not worth chasing other than to get into raids. With all of Anthems floors and there are plenty, bricking PS4 consoles, kicking you back to the dashboard, crashing, glitching and more. The power fantasy (when you get to play the game) is very much there, alive and well. I have more time for Anthem to ‘get good’ than I do Destiny 2 for which the game has been out over five years ! Bounties, nah thanks not everyone wants to do them, the same boring monotonous grind doing the same things to rank up. All the good weapons get nerfed, this arks back to the whole power fantasy though frankly. The EP shoty, WOTW, Sleeper, good exotics that made us feel powerful that got nerfed. We begin to get the power fantasy back and adds begin to feel less like boring old bullet sponges, only to have all the good weapons nerfed until they are a shadow of their former selves, all this even after the Forsaken dlc dropped for which they released a trailer stating, that they ‘don’t care what having three shot guns means, we are interested to see what the community will do with it, we know it will likely break the game but that’s the element of fun that has been missing’, yet nerf them into the ground only months later. PVP being 6v6 is too much, most maps are too small and this means that with Bungies broken spawns you can literally die from a guardian using their super and spawn directly infront of them to die by their super for a second time moments later. What should have happened was Bungie should have said ‘we hear you, we are aware you guys want 6v6, but the maps don’t lend themselves to this size teams, we do think that 5v5 would be more appropriate until such time as we release further maps with new dlc content that have been designed for 6v6 teams in mind’. With the add of some of these op weapons like Lunas etc I see a lot of players claiming that the state of pvp is unplayable and zero fun. Does Bungie address this ? No they don’t. Prestige raids are fun but not with set load outs, yes it’s a challenge for a while but frankly a boring one and one most players can’t be bothered with. Masterwork cores or Enhancement cores (because Bungie thinks changing their name makes it all ok). Yes I do believe that the infusion system in Destiny one was too easy. I am all for change, but enhancement cores were not the answer. I think what Bungie fails to realise is that not one single person in this community said we wanted this game to be one (too easy) or the other (to grindy and hardcore) what we want is something down the middle, yes of course you should be rewarded for your time. You put more time in of course you should get that ‘God roll’ or the better weapons. Just as much as someone that has less time on their hands should be able to pick their controller up and play for a few hours a week and still be able to compete. It should be fun and rewarding for ALL players not just a minority few. Enhancement cores should be removed from infusion they take away the fun element and force you to play in a way that stops you from experimenting with your gear or from even being able to wear your favourite armour. Factions should be assemble at ALL times, just like Destiny 1 and as I see a further post about today, exotic class items should be available for those factions. New gear every season means more reasons to play, or further ways to rank up with powerful drops when you rank up your factions. Not this week on week off rubbish we have now. (Lately not at all due to factions being removed from the game). Masterworks are fun sure, but let’s not forget that these were introducing to make the vanilla weapons pre Forsaken feel a little better and give a further grind to the game. Now Forsaken has dropped why do we still need them ? This may be more a personal thing for me but this is lazy development, release a weapon which is ok, but better with a masterwork to put in a further element of grind. It’s an exotic if it’s worth the grind it should be OP and powerful, it should be good upon dropping !! Holding you back on the drops you get, Bungie seems to love doing this and the RNG for that last remaining piece of gear you need seems all but none existent. Bungie actively lock you out of that hunter cloak or those Titan arms that warlock chest you have searched for, for weeks. Only to have one drop and then what do you know three more within the next four engrams you get. The sad fact of the matter is that I honestly don’t think Bungie has the brain power or imagination to make this game something truly great again. The same dev team that made Halo did not make Destiny 1 and the same team that made Destiny 1 did not make Destiny 2 and personally I think it shows. Why the hell don’t you play your own game Bungie ! Go play D1 and see what this game is missing. If a developer has to ask streamers what is wrong with their game then there is simply no hope ! Why don’t you just visit your own forums Bungie, the whole community is screaming at you with ways to make this game better but you simply don’t care, don’t listen or take on any of the advise. Over 14 million players bought Destiny 2 Less than 500.000 play every week now, And this system counts all three of your guardians as three separate logins, it also counts players on Destiny 1 of which there are plenty as I’m one of them ! (And who knows if it counts separate logins for those players with three guardians over there too ?!!). This recent DLC has done nothing to bring them back. I know I will never be back, even after a few very promising things, like the whisper of the work exotic quest this game continues to fall flat on its face. Now I just login to the forums to watch Bungie burn because it’s the only way I can get release for them breaking my favourite game. I gave up playing three days after Forsaken it was too little too late for more and frankly not good enough. I was searching for this incredible fix to mend everything and it didn’t do that at all. When I left Destiny 1 I was so ready to leave, I have 12 guardians on Xbox and 3 on PS4 I have all exotics and been flawless countless times and own all armour, have almost 500 raid completions on my main Xbox profile almost 300 on PS4 and an unknown amount on my other 9 Xbox profiles. I was so ready to go on to new and better things, but I just couldn’t put up with how bad Destiny 2 was any longer, I couldn’t keep adding to the player base and giving Bungie a false narrative of their game. I find myself back on Destiny 1 which is such a shame because D2 looks great, it sounds fantastic and no one Bungie, no one does gun play like you do !! But the content, the drive to play, the reason to grind just simply is not there, And I have no idea whether it’s because the same teams is not at the reins for D2 but it sure feels that way. You will not catch me ever preordering another Bungie game, IF I ever buy D3 it will be after a few months and talking to players and finding out if there is enough content and how the game feels. You have extinguished all the good faith you had from your player base Bungie. You know what I hate Bungie for more than anything, breaking up clans, killing friendships. Where’s this friendship end game you spoke of Bungie !! When all of our friends no longer play or now that my clan has only one playing playing and that was me !! To join another clan for the same thing to happen, player by player people leave for other games never to be back. My trials team no longer players my best friends no longer play. Yes of course we keep on contact but those days of logging back in daily, playing together and running raids are long gone. I would love the franchise to come back Bungie I really would, this isn’t a ‘I’m done Bungie’ post, it’s not even a complaining post about how bad the game is, because frankly I gave up on it months ago. It’s a plea for Bungie to start listening. To stop putting their heads in the sand and thinking all is ok. Read this Bungie and respond to me...
