I dont believe we should trust the drifter, heres why: he is not loyal to anyone, his name says it all. He left the risen/guardians for the power of the dredgen and then left the dredgen for the power of the creatures. He also is probably salty no one cares about the dredgen until he got back after the red war. Technically in d2 theore no mention of dredgens or shadows until he returns.
The drifter understands the guardians greed for powerful weapons so he tested us with gambit and then the malfeasance.
Gambit is a test to see if we are ok with wielding darkness and The malfeasance quest had us doing the dirty work and getting this weapon that is supposed to kill guardians. Knowing that we ourselves are loyal only to weaponry he is using us.
When the thorn quest is available it will be his ultimate test of our greed. The gun that started it all corrupts more guardians to the drifter.
Hes not in this to make friends, he wants powerful pawns.

Believe me, I don’t trust him. He’s a shady guy with clearly dark motives. However, he knows things I don’t. I have questions regarding what his endgame is, and he has the answers I need. Acting as a spy for the Vanguard won’t let me get close enough to discover the truth, especially when he’d know I’d be standing against him in that case. Furthermore, his partnership with the Nine make things all the more complicated. If they’re working with the Drifter, whatever he’s doing must be important in the long run. So while my true loyalties lie with the Vanguard and the City, I have to take this risk and side with him. If I am ever to uncover the truth, I have to gain his trust first. At least, that’s my reasoning for why I side with Drifter. Other people might just want to be evil or some other dark stuff, but I my choice is built on an entirely different motive.

6 Respostas<The Shadows are people walking the line between Light and Dark. Step out of line and you end up dead. The Thorn doesn't corrupt if you purify it, which is what literally everyone post-Yor has been doing. Malfeasance was meant to kill Shin, but obviously it ain't gonna happen. I'm more worried about the affiliation with the Nine than I am of any scheme a Dredgen could come up with.>

2 RespostasHere’s the thing. If we side with the Drifter, we side with the Nine. Therefore, we side with our Sol System instead of a weakling Titan, the only strong Warlock in power, and 3 factions that hate each other
