If SBMM would be implemented, two things will happen:
1) -those with high scores/high skill will ONLY face others on relatively high score/skill (this will make harder for them to farm for Legend rank, or even reach teh ranks for weapons, not impossible, but harder)
2) -Low skill and low rating players will have a easier time to climb the Glory ladder, facing similar skilled level teams/players
The tryhards don't want this to happen. The tryhard "skilled" players got their Luna by FARMING LOW SKILLED, SOLO players. SBMM will not allow this anymore, they will always face equal opponents, and they will have a way harder time to push for ranks and achievements.
Thus, they don't want SBMM to come back, because they are scared of facing oponents of equal skill, they want easy fast wins against folks such as myself, to get their Luna and brag about how good they are.
The rest of the player base, the majority, is stuck feeding their egos, and they are literally a glory farm for these dudes.
Streamers and youtubers will have a harder time posting awesome clips about their 180's and other shenanigans, will have a harder time to climb.
These players HATE, and are scared to death about sbmm and solo queue being truly solo. They want / need a system such as we have now, where they can fireteam with other skilled friends and go and steam roll new players and players who aren't too good at crucible, to get their weapons then BRAG ABOUT THEIR ACHIEVEMENTS (all done against lower skilled players, btw).
I have watched a streamer for example whom, when he start facing high skilled opponents, simply quit and went to do pve because "ehmmm...i need to finish my weekly milestones", in fact he was raging that he was losing and stop doing pvp for the day. This wouldn't have happened if he would have faced noobs like me and constantly winning, in fact he would have gladly pvp for the rest of his stream, showing his "skillz"
Here you have it folks, this is the reason.
I would gladly take a queue time increase if sbmm would be applied, and not the system we have now in place, it is corrupted, broken, does Bungie don't see this, don't they care?
TLDR: the wannabe mythic glory ranked ones don't want sbmm. Because then they will start to lose against same level opponents

24 RespostasPunishing players for being good is a terrible idea. Why do the scrubs want SBMM? Because they don’t want to play people that are better than them... pathetic
-
1 ResponderOr crazy thought I don’t want to sit in q for 30 mins only to match with someone with Walmart wifi.
-
Im lower tier and i dont want it. Simple reason...the laggggggg that came with it in d1. Just made you whole wall of text invalid, as lower tiers dont want it either
-
6 RespostasNo sorry I got my Luna by working my ass off don’t belittle that. It wasn’t handed to me by any means. I did a huge majority of the quest solo as well. Don’t get me wrong I to agree that the match Making can use adjustments. A major problem is connection not skill.
-
1 ResponderWhat are you even talking about? Glory rank is used for matching in the comp playlist. Yes there are times when it matches outside of rank but if you are 3000+ rank its not going to match you with low skilled opponents.

13 RespostasEditado por chomperzzs⁷: 12/30/2018 4:02:02 PMHow about all the not so good players just get good and stop being not so good. Rather than complaining that your simply bad and want to play against other bad players so you don't feel so bad cause your thumb don't work. Bungie can't make you better at the game only you can

7 RespostasEditado por LouieMags4: 12/30/2018 3:51:37 PMThis argument only applies to Quickplay. Skill based match making is already implemented in Competitive, FYI. Not arguing that it’s perfect by any means, far from it, but the argument pertaining to Glory and Pinnacle Weapons is moot. These guys are entering Comp to obtain these weapons. If the top tier are farming in QP and six stacks are pub stomping, then I’d advocate for some level of SBMM. I get the crux of this argument, but I do like the notion of no SBMM in QP though

Lmao at the salt mine youve created.

5 RespostasAgree, the biggest problem is there are those that like PVP but only want to play occasionally.... I'm one of those, granted I played alot more in D1 when things were better, maps were better and IB gave you reasons to play. ... now I don't even know have the maps, I hate PVP and there for don't play. On the other hand you have players that play 3+ hours a day, know the maps in and out and play with meta weapons in full teams.... tell me again why any new player would want to play? Correct... there is none, there for Bungie caters to the Streamers and such.... . It's just a constant downward spiral as player base decreases.

10 RespostasI recall reading or hearing several years ago that the high level players don't want to play against people as good as them and Bungie listened.

2 RespostasEarly mtashed on Destiny 1 SBMM. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=132Y5oX4zsw
-
Only way to improve comp is to make it solo Q only. Other than that, nothing else they could do.
-
Didn't bungie try this and everyone complained the matchmaking was awful and loads of lag? Don't really think you can have both without dedicated servers which ain't ever happening.
-
All very true. And the best part? Bungie knows it too and is happy to feed you to the lions. Why? You might ask. Because Bungie believes you, the mindless masses, will buy their trash game just because your hero streamer plays it. Who is the blame? Bungie? The freeloading streamer-trash of the world? No, you are, the consumer.

2 RespostasJust to be clear, SBMM is skill based match-making, right? So then what's the alternative to that? And what's CBMM? Sorry, as a PvE main I don't really know much about all this so some clarification would be useful.
-
2 RespostasWe already knew this, but Bungie won't do anything. They don't care about this game, and they certainly won't upset their precious streamers.
-
6 RespostasAre you limiting this to Just Youtubers / Streamers? because I think you hit the nail on the head there, but I do feel it's not only the streamers and dreamers. it's everyone in general I think. I Remember I had this debate with a "Destiny 1 Veteran", as she called herself, I have been playing D2 for a while and haven't Played D1 A lot, She kept bragging about her stats in D1, How good it was, etc and D2 is shit. we had the debate about SBMM vs CBMM, and I said SBMM is fair because it makes for a more playable experience, she kept ranting that no it doesn't and CBMM is better, and she is so good in PVP etc. Long story short, I got the D1 collection for like, next to nothing, challenged her, I still had blue mediocre weapons, and she had all the nice shit from D1, she died, quickly. So, to make my point, I agree, Players can reach their "Skill Cap" quickly with SBMM and its more enjoyable, with CBMM, her "Clan" could run 4 stacks and carry her the whole time. figures. On Another Note: (just had to) I do not justify watching People play a game I own myself, I don't justify watching people play games in general, as the time you waste watching someone play a game, you could have played the game yourself. It's like buying a Brand new car, and watching someone else drive it around the parking lot, doing burn outs, while a crowd of 5 people stand there and say "hey I have the same car! I wonder if my car can do this, I don't know but F*CKIT lets watch this guy drive the car anyway"

4 RespostasSorry for the question but what's SBMM?
-
6 RespostasSorry bud. Hate to burst your bubble. Having tiered ranking, AKA Glory, effectively separates individuals just as SBMM would. In fact, it functions even better than SBMM in that it takes into account if players haven’t played in a long time by allowing them to get reacquainted with the game. Thus, they do not have to jump back into matches with people who WERE their skill level when they quit. Competitive is the new SBMM. If you can’t make it past a certain Glory score, it’s because you have hit your peak.
-
2 RespostasOh I agree so much. What I would give for longer ques but an actual chance of getting glory Rank. So tired of losing rank when you lose against the same 4 stack 3 times in a row because no-one plays that side of crucible unless you have to or are a 4stack. Win three in a row against solo quer's, lose three in a row to 4stacks, its like what a massive waste of time. I laugh at anyone who says they are good at this game in pvp purely because I know the only way they have that rank, is because they stack. Not because of skill. The moment things get hard or they start losing they leave till they can win again. I'm still new to the game and learning, only played now for about 3 weeks, and this games pvp is some of the worst experience you could possibly have. Played so many games before this that had pvp as one of the best features, but this being farmed by 4 or 6 stacks in crucible/Gambit is getting obscene.

11 RespostasThis isn’t how competitive works at all. Get to 5,000 glory and then tell me that it isn’t a -blam!-ing sweat fest. The problem with matchmaking is that it’s just messed up to begin with. You’re already supposed to get matched up with other people at your level. The problem is, somewhere in the system is a hole that ruins this experience for some people (i.e. being 1,000 glory and getting matched against people with 3,000 glory, etc.). This has nothing to do with streamers or Youtubers. This post is literally just a salty player who’s looking to complain because they got screwed over in a solo queue match in competitive even though you knew that it’s not a good idea. Quit complaining about stupid shit. How about we fix the issue with paid carries and work on game balance instead?
-
2 RespostasI was watching someone's stream for the first time, not gonna mention names. I've seen their YouTube videos in quickplay and they're always really good, usually wind up with like a 3 or 4 k/d. So I'm watching their stream and they go into ranked cause someone donated and wanted to play with them and suddenly this dude is struggling. No more easy double and triple kills, he's going one for one almost the entire time. And while that does make for more interesting gameplay, it does not make for a good stream. And a bad stream means people don't watch. Which means less advertising for bungie.
-
Wrong, most of my friends who play Comp are not top 1%. But they grind and they get there, someone sounds bitter imao!
-
Actually, you’re wrong. Bring back SBMM, we don’t care. Dropping 30-50 bombs in quickplay gets boring af real fast. Meanwhile you baddies will end up still complaining because you can’t overcome players at your own skill level because you won’t be facing the players even worse than you are. I teccomend
getting gud
-
4 RespostasSo, Bring back Mayhem?
-
I’ve seen first hand how many people in this community are far better than those streamers.
