Can you answer me that?
I see so often when people talk about Luna's, the owners of the gun come out and flat out tell people that Trust is just plain better in every way to Luna's yet you never really see them give any particular reason as to why.
They never explain it, they never give evidence, they just tell you that Trust is better in an attempt to stir the conversation away from talking about how absolutely broken over powered Luna's Howl is (and by extension, Not Forgotten).
I can give you one good reason why Trust, even at it's absolute best roll, is not better than Luna's Howl. Luna's Howl kills in 3 head shots at all times. There's literally never an instance in a 1v1 gun fight where Luna's cannot kill in 3 head shots. You fire the first 2 shots into a guy's head and you proc the perk, then you fire the third for 131 damage. Even if the opponent has an overshield from popular things like Force Barrier or One Eye'd Mask. The Luna's just shoots directly through the shield and kills you anyways in 3 head shots.
Trust kills in 4 head shots. It's fastest time to kill is 4 head shots. Now, you could have Kill Clip on your Trust, which if you had that active you could get a 3 tap to the head. But that requires a lot of setup and requires you to get another kill beforehand and just happen to run into a Luna's user that doesn't have their perk already active either. Too much setup for the same time to kill if you ask me.
You could use Rampage, but to even meet the requirements for a three tap to the head you'd need max stacks of Rampage, which is 3 kills in a row without dying and then you'd need to be at full health to even be able to fight the Luna's user.
You could use Explosive Rounds to distract the Luna's user; it doesn't make the TTK any faster but it makes the enemy's screen shake a little more. But banking on the other player messing up their shots isn't a very good counter to Luna's. It definitely is betting on the losing side of the bargain.
So I just went over all of the really high quality perks for Trust and they all require some amount of tedious setup to even match the normal TTK of Luna's Howl. Even a Godroll Trust would require a lot of setup to even match Luna's. So, let me ask you one question Luna's users that talk a lot of smack about how Trust is the counter to Luna's and is so much better than Luna's:
If Trust is so much better than Luna's, why isn't everybody that has a Luna's just using Trust instead?

1 ResponderHere’s the answer. A god roll trust is slightly better than Luna’s howl. Let me explain why. If you look at the base stats for Luna’s and trust, they are almost identical: Luna’s howl Impact 78 Range 47 Stability 61 Magazine 10 Reload speed 59 Handling 42 Zoom 14 Inventory size 60 Aim assistance 79 Recoil direction 95 Trust Impact 78 Range 43 Stability 60 Magazine 9 Reload speed 55 Handling 42 Zoom 14 Inventory size 60 Aim assistance 78 Recoil direction 96 Those are base stats. If you add the perks for Luna’s zen moment and magnificent Howl along with the stability masterwork you have a god tier weapon. However, if you are able to obtain a Trust with a god roll of smallbore, accurized rounds, opening shot, and explosive payload it is better than Luna’s howl. The reason is twofold. First, in all weapons, range is King! This roll of Trust will outgun Luna’s because it has significantly more range. Second on console, the flinch and bloom from explosive rounds is devistating. It will disrupt the aim of a Luna’s user in most cases. Add to that the opening shot so you land that first disruptive hit and you have the recipe for the second most dominate legendary hand cannon in game. Trust is not better than Not forgotten.

Who said that?

Luna and nf shouldn't be nerfed especially nf cause think of all the pain grinding to legend and getting multiple quests done just so casuals can cry nerf to what you've killed yourself for, I'm a firm believer in nerf and buffs equilibrium but nerfing luna and nf is just stupid...
-
2 RespostasSimple. The gamers who have Luna's Howl are lying about how great it is to prevent BUNGIE from nerfing it. Gamers always lie to preserve their in-game advantage. I wouldn't trust any gamer with my life.
-
Luna is powerful Trust is consistent Not forgotten is both.

Luna is powerful Trust is consistent Not forgotten is both.

1 ResponderThey’re just flat out lying to everyone when they say Trust is better. Luna’s Howl/Not Forgotten are the most broken OP weapons currently in this Meta. Not sure why HC are so dominate but it is what it is. Personally I love HC as much as the next guy but Not Forgotten especially should not be able to engage Pulse Rifles/Scout Rifles. Kinda defeats the purpose of Mid/Long range gun fights.
-
Probably because it's an accolade a badge to say "Yeah, I did that and I killed you with it but I earned this through salt and suffering"
-
Trust is superior at range, Luna is a mid to close range weapon
-
1 Responder1 random person on ps4, I'll carry you to fabled just tell me a good joke
-
Cause I used trust for the whole quest and I prefer Luna's.
-
They mean the range, a trust with explosive rounds and range masterwork can outgun luna at the right range, luna’s range is a good chunk lower than a good trust. The aim assist and damage drops off when your range is low which is why luna’s users feel that trust is an all around better gun just because of the range alone. But at close range, luna wins every time, but at this point, a skilled shotgunner with chaperone could kill a luna’s user as well. At the same time it also depends on the luna’s user and whether they can land those headshots or not, but a lot of the negatives of luna’s low range are overcome by the beastliness of the gun when the perk procs
-
Never heard anyone say this
-
An explosive payload trust will beat a Luna’s 80% of the time in a straight 1v1 in the open, you just can’t land the crits when you’re getting hit, trust also has way better bullet magnetism when it comes to crits. As a base gun trust is better then Luna’s , the perk on Luna’s is why we use it though(I’ve found myself using Sturm and drang a lot lately though)
-
Luna IS better than trust. But a trust with explosive payload can outgun a Luna sometimes. That's what I used during my grind.
-
Who said that, it differs from person to person and the roll on trust. I like lunas better since under the right scenario it can have a faster ttk than trust.
-
4 RespostasWhile I’ve never said trust is better, a good roll would make it more consistent at further ranges. It’s the same reason “not forgotten” is better than Luna’s; more range. In a lot of scenarios Luna beats trust. Some people just prefer consistency. I have seen people who prefer a good rolled 180 compared to Luna’s. it’s really a matter of preference. Luna’s is a beast weapon though.
-
luna is strickly better than trust wtf are you saying? as someone who used trust up to fabled, i can assure you they are basicly the same. Lunas is better if you do criticals... orherwise they are the same. same firerate, (about) same damage. 5 or 6 shots in the chest, 4 shots in the head for trust. 5 or 6 shots in the chest, 3 in the head with howl... trust isn’t better but it can compete with luna’s just fine.
-
Trust has the flinch advantage but if the luna user can fight through the flinch, its really hard
-
1 ResponderI use Luna's to show off. And Redrix. Then I get Gold tier medals and Quickplay to show off even more. Then I ignore my hatemail while I'm living in the Crucible. I promise I'm not arrogant.
-
Because they're stupid, next question.
-
2 RespostasI’ve heard that Trust is more consistent to Luna’s. Can’t really expand on that as I’m not quite to fabled yet.
-
Not a huge fan of Luna’s. I feel obliged to use it sometimes, but out of guilt for how much time I’ve spent obtaining it. I far prefer my bow. Less useful. Harder to use. Spotty reliability. But more fun.
-
If I can out gun a Luna with trust in a one on one then it’s pretty clear that trust is fairly equal to Luna.
-
3 RespostasIf you can't land 2 consecutive head shots, Luna's Howl sucks. Use Explosive Rounds and flinch people so bad they can't see straight. If they miss 1 shot, they're dead. Trust is just an incredible weapon in PvE and PvP depending on the perks. Trust can get the magical combination of Flared Magwell, Dragonfly, Rampage, Range Masterwork, and a Backup Mag mod to create a truly devastating PvE Hand Cannon. I'd rather have it than the curated Nation of Beasts.
-
2 RespostasA trust with explosive rounds is hard to shoot theough. Idk if it can roll with high cal rounds but if it cans I would maybe choose it over Luna.
