Polaris Lance is exceptionally bad

Like, most Scout Rifles are kinda bad at the moment, but I decided to pull Polaris Lance out of the vault for a bit and give it a go and I am just... flabbergasted. I have never seen an exotic with such a pitiful damage output, even in its perfect circumstance. Getting precision hits loads another shot, but that shot is just as useless as the first so why bother? And then there's the Masterworking process. Good grief, don't get me started on that. Get fifty kills with a burn that does, what, a TENTH of the damage of a bodyshot? Are you high? That was some tedious nonsense. And now I have Dragonfly, which would be good... if this could actually get kills in a reasonable time frame. But it can't. Because the damage was gimped to players would HAVE to get five chain headshots to do anything. Why is this exotic chained to its perks so tightly? You got things like Vigilance Wing, which were for a time the best guns in the game even if you removed both of their exotic perks, or Sleeper Simulant, which takes the core focus of its weapon type (Charged precision hits) and throws it out the window in favor of truly ludicrous damage. But poor Polaris Lance is stuck being just... unrelentingly terrible, even for a Scout Rifle, the class of weapon saved from being "the absolute worst" only by the existence of Sidearms. What the hell, Bungie?
