Margaret Stohl: Lore Destroyer. With a single tweet, she ruined dozens of fan theories, trivialized the work of D1's writers, and managed to suck the intrigue out of the Destiny experience even more.

Soon on Twitter: "the exo stranger is not cannon, just your guardian hallucinating. Phenomena known to happen for newly 'reborn guardians' whose connection to the light is still 'getting tuned'. In d2, it doesn't appear because your guardian has now a stronger connection to the light. We believe we closed that story arc properly'.

This isnt just a middle finger to the lore community its a middle finger to THE WHOLE community. More excuses for your teams to keep being lazy and shallow. Do they not realise that with each decision like this you just piss away another section of your once loyal and invested community.

There goes Byf's job lol. This is quite disheartening. Here I was excited about the raid patch too. Oh well, that didn't last long. When did the comic book industry take over Destiny? Won't be long until we get the 80th reboot and learn that Cayde's parents were killed by gangsters bitten by radioactive spiders. No point in getting attached to "folklore" that can be retconned at any moment.

The sheer idiocy and incompetence displayed by these morons is impressive. It’s practically inconceivable that an entire group of people can be this stupid and blind to common sense.

This is just proof that Bungle is so lost in this project that they can't see the forest for the trees. They are incapable of looking at what they've done and recognize what is good and what is bad, what are their strengths and what are their weaknesses. They can't tell what's hateful bitching and what's well thought out criticisim. They can't tell what's whining and what's insight into things that really just don't work. If they look at the lore from D1 and don't see a beautiful, deep, epic world that was unfortunately lost on most players due to the terrible integration that they implemented, then they are truly lost. I have been saying since vanilla Destiny that they should hire a think tank of their most passionate players to give them a set of outside eyes and perspectives. I would have hired people like MyNameisByf and DSRLJoker immediately and without hesitation. A think tank of lore fanatics, solo players, group players, and PvP experts would have helped them tremendously. I think it's too late. Curse of Osiris was by far the worst conceived and worst written piece of Destiny content ever produced, mostly because of the way it shit on both the lore of Osiris and the Vex, but also because it's just objectively a terrible story and a terrible game. You could know nothing about Destiny and you'd come away thinking that Osiris isn't fleshed out at all, Vance is a godawful character, and you spend two and a half hours coming to the conclusion that the Vex aren't much of a threat at all and everything is pretty much inconsequential and totally forgettable. It's just a really bad game by any metric. I think Bungle is totally lost at this point, and I don't think they can tell their asshole from their elbow.

I think it was just a poorly worded tweet. She also said that since it was supposed to be written by characters in the universe we have no way of knowing if they are deceiving us or showing bias. I think of it as folklore to the characters in the game, canon to us reading from the outside. Just my opinion though.

FolkLore is basically the same thing as lore and to there point, since these are all secondary sources it is actually closer to folklore than lore.

It's not the devs fault, they made the game how they like it, it's your's, you keep complaining about it, stop it, IT'S JUST A GAME.
