I hate it, as does my friend.
I can not understand the reasons for this change. I often heard "there are so many gameplay options when combining the different primary weapons" or "This way I can cover all distances"... The old weapon system did the exact same thing. Scout + Shotgun covers all ranges and offers more gameplay options. Nobody needs the same gun twice. I know an Auto is not a HC, but they both are primaries, they are very similar weapons. And it never matters which one I use.
Instead of "kinetic" and "energy" its just primary twice. This makes everything incredibly boring. It does not fit the game and is anti-fun.
There are more things I genuinely do not like and sadly these are mostly core parts of the game (I.e. Similar supers, Hunter as a whole, everything about pvp,...)
I hoped for destiny 1 in year 1 but all the problems fixed and more fun. Instead the game lost the "destiny" feeling, it's identity.
I do not believe that you will change this, since it is a gigantic part of your new game, but I wanted to let you know that I think it was a very bad decision. It will definitely make me enjoy the game less, I can tell this from the beta.
Edit: BUT I have to say the game looks and sounds absolutely awesome, especially the particle effects from abilities. (the lightnig grenade looks gorgeous)

Editado por DaFrazzls: 9/20/2017 6:21:19 AMThe new weapon system is stupid. While I'm generally an open minded person, I don't like the new weapon system at all
-
Editado por WarPig403: 8/29/2017 5:14:27 AMthe only compromise between the 2 systems is if ammo synths are in destiny 2.so you can quickly replenish power ammo every 5 minutes or so if you dont have any.But that really is just a lazy bandaid fix.I dont like the new weapon system as much as the next guy but thats the only thing i can think of.if they did move weapons around to diffrent slots the sandbox would have to be changed significantly.Which makes alot of work for bungie.
-
Yes the weapon system is shit! Just imagine going to kill a raid boss with all primary weapons. Wait we have power weapons with limited ammo, now we have the same type of big ass clunky bosses that we just hide and shoot no real thought. But now we have two primary weapons versus y1 of 2 now called power weapons. How is a shotgun in the same weapon type as a rocket launcher?! Just saying. Long boring boss fights coming up.

As much as I have been ranting about this change, Bungie needs to decide what kind of player they are really trying to attract. It appears on the outside that it's PvP and they are attempting to make it go MLG'ish. Now here's the problem with that, there are already a lot of those types of games. The community itself is fairly small when it comes to actual sweaty gamers. So where will the revenue come from to make more games, there won't be it will only be enough to support map packs like most PvP games today. The PvE community searching for a truly engaging, story driven FPS space adventure is huge by comparison. Just look at how many people bought vanilla when they thought that was what they were getting. Sure the content would have to be immense but so to would be the fan base if it lived up to the hype. I mean with every expansion so far they have been taking something away that made PvE enjoyable when it comes to our weapons. So much so that the majority I saw were all using the same primary for PvE in TTK. I just can't see sustaining a strong PvE community in this game, especially with the latest changes. I mean it's a sci-fi fantasy and it should play like it. After an event I should say god that was fun let's do it again, not damn that was a chore I think I will skip it when it comes around again.

Personally I'd rather bungie allowed us to decide what weapons go in what slots, within reason of course. Combine both D1 system and D2 systems... Kinectic weapons - as it is. Energy weapons - all elemental based primary weapons, low impact/high rof shotguns, low impact/high rof sniper rifles and fusion rifles. Heavy weapons - HMG, rocket launchers, grenade launchers, swords, high impact/low rof shotguns, high impact/low rof sniper rifles, linear fusion rifles. With this system you could only equip either a low impact SR or a high impact SR, not both. Also a fusion rifle or a linear fusion rifle. This would create a lot more diversity for weapon set up. Bungie could even change the designs of the sniper rifles to accommodate this alternative weapon set up. Low impact/high rof SR's would keep the current designs - semi auto High impact/low rof SR's would change to bolt action SR's.

By far the worst thing bungie could have done. It definitely makes the game boring and slow
-
The new weapon system, in PVE, is shit.

1 ResponderMost of the community hates the new weapon system, especially people who like to raid more than play in the Crucible. Bungie's current PR is to say absolutely nothing and pretend everything is fine.

1 ResponderEditado por GreenD614: 7/22/2017 10:06:08 PMDestiny is turning into COD.. Wonder if Activision has anything to do with it?

Agreed. No disrespect to anybody but I don't understand the "cover more range" argument tbh... all the primaries are varying degrees of mid-range weapons relative to the range variation offered by shotguns/snipers. I also liked the risk/reward of using those guns - snipers are slower to aim / pull of critical stuff for most casual players and take you out of the immmediate fray to help with aggro for your teammates and shotguns were high-risk to receive some hits in groups of enemies if not mindful... with the two primary system and how the two levels appeared, it seems like the same slow fire fight in my opinion - pop out of cover, empty half a clip, duck back behind cover while they fire your way, pop back out and finish them off, cover again to reload, rinse and repeat. Again, no disrespect to supporters at all - it just wasn't my thing and I felt it made the battles pretty monotonous for me. (It also feels unnatural to have snipers and rocket launchers in the same class - one requires arguable skills shots to be effective while the other is a point and shoot... presumably for way more damage).

17 RespostasEditado por GalaxySpider: 7/22/2017 2:45:44 PMDisagree. Elemental legendary primaries. Something the community asked since TKK! I will gladly that that over my sniper (I can still use via the power slot). It's a weird but quite interesting experience and I fell in love with it. Huge benefit for PvE actually and in PvP I'm really enjoying encounters now. IMO there is nothing to be worried about Raids etc as well. A game build around that system can't provide mechanics which would be counter productive to it. It would be nonsense. The Destiny feeling is still there. Especially the identity. Titans with Walls, Warlocks and their space magic, fast and nimble Hunters jumping around everyhwere, weird seeker grenades and abilities. And roaming supers chasing and killing you (or your enemies). No clue what you are talking about. It happens the same in D1. The Destiny feel is gone when the game plays no like Destiny which certainly is NOT the case. Its Destiny, just a little bit different. That's what I expect from a sequel. Tweaks and/or improvements and not the same old shit, tbh.

6 Respostas2 things. 1. We have known for a while now about the changes to the weapon system. 2. In knowing #1 you should obviously know this is built into the game and is not something that is going to be changed. The real question is, is a deal breaker for you and many others like you? Deal breaker as in will not buy D2 now.
-
2 RespostasOddly, I'm cool with it, but for a very minority reason... I only ever use sidearms nowadays. Unless we're talking about Telesto or Ice Breaker, that's my special of choice, so it basically hasn't changed anything for me. Is this response helpful? Probably not, but that's life, right?

2 RespostasWell then... you AND your "friend" do not speak for all of us that like change.

1 ResponderI like it, as does my friend.

I like it, as do my friends. Have fun and may RNG be forever in your favor.

I agree. In PVP it's an actual upgrade. In PVE it is bad and limits how you can play. It doesn't matter if they increase heavy ammo drop rate, you are still stuck using the same guns. It also doesn't matter if they allow multiple elemental slots on the second primary guns. SO you just go to your menu and change it from void to solar, you are still using a pulse rifle and a scout rifle, or a hand cannon and a submachine gun. I liked being able to pick off random ads at mid range with a scout rifle, pop a heavy towards a boss when there was an opening, and stick a shotgun in a shielded ads belly all at the same time.
-
3 RespostasHow is not having to cower like a small child, until your icebreaker refills, not fun??? I see so many of these threads and it always the same thing "we want our shotguns and snipers back "
-
7 RespostasIf Scout + Shotgun was the same thing as Scout + HC or Scout + AR you wouldn't be bitching. As it happens they aren't the same thing. Scout+Shotgun suffers from a hole in the mid-range, and severe ammo problems in the super close range. The new system suffers from a lack of one-shot power in the close range without dipping to power weapons.
-
2 RespostasI LOVE it on pvp, but HATE it in pve.
-
Antifun is a good way to put it
-
The new weapon system is awful. Monotonous and boring for PvE. I do not foresee myself having much fun at all doing countless strikes or raids where I'm using a primary weapon for almost the entirety of the activity. So lame. And why did they completely ruin the PvE experience? Because of all the crybabies on these forms that complained about shotguns and snipers in the crucible. Congratulations to those whiny morons, you ruined the sequel.
-
13 RespostasPersonally i like the new weapon system and there is obviously more about it than they are letting on in the beta. If my suspicions are correct youll be avle to install/uninstall arc/solar/void mods into any wep to have them switch slots, if exotics are included this would be very awesome. I hope i am right, otherwise D2 is shaping to be another disappointment
-
I hate it. Plz change it back for pve at least.

4 RespostasEditado por Bung1eIsLame4sho: 7/22/2017 1:30:49 AMThe new loadout system for PvE is a pile of hot garbage. Bring back the D1 loadout system for PvE.

I'm with you. The new weapon system is terrible IMO. So disappointing.
