Cmon. Am I the only one who felt his story was wasted and that he should somehow be revived for later plot lines in destiny? Sure his sisters are out there and could potentially carry on his legacy or pose the same kind of threat he did but this the guy who planned for his heart to be put into a gun so he could live forever. What if he came back in spirit through the Touch of Malice? He's out of his bargain with the worms now. And he still isn't dead. Hell it wouldn't be too big of a stretch for him to help us Guardians as a weird "thank you" for killing him to get him out of the deal. I don't know after reading the books of sorrow countless times I just feel like his story should have a little more expanded on it.

4 RespostasOryx was weak. Not weak overall, but weak from lack of tribute. When we killed Crota, a large flow of tribute stopped and left Oryx in a weakened state. Based on the worms, part of the bargain was that they had to remain true to their nature for the rest of time. Oryxs (Aurash) nature was exploring/inquiring. There are two sisters left. Someone more lore savvy correct me if I'm wrong, but of the two remaining sisters, one must never give up on her cunning, and the other must never stop testing her strength. Idk about you, but the one who's nature is strength sounds like a fun fight.

Well theoretically the hive will continue to kill and destroy every civilization in the universe until it's "perfect". This means eventually, they will have to come fight us

5 RespostasEditado por Kyoto6712: 3/7/2017 5:25:02 PMWell think of this..... When Oryx died, he was in his physical form when he floated down on Saturn. He had taken energy in him (hence the blinding explosion) but his physical form still exists. Its just lying around somewhere on Saturn waiting to be possessed. Destiny 2?

6 RespostasEditado por GalaxySpider: 3/7/2017 5:19:13 PMAFAIK his sisters do not share Oryx' point of view and how he wanna satisfy the hunger of his worm. So I doubt they will continue what Oryx started. But there is one major Hive alive, not even the grimoire or the Worlds Grave has actual information about: Nocris. He seems to be a hive prince as well, just like Crota. A statue is placed right next to Oryx' and Crota's. It seems like Nocris is Oryx' joker, or anything like that, in case if Oryx will ever fall in battle. 100% sure Nocris will play a role in D2.

3 RespostasMy only problem with Oryx's death was that it felt too easy and a little bit rushed.

Sure. The new Omnigol strike says straight up that death is not the same for the Hive.

I'd rather hear about Savathûn and Xiva Arath

2 RespostasEditado por Ghost593835: 3/6/2017 10:27:29 PMOh. Oryx isnt oryx the mad god. Oryx is Sauron.

8 RespostasOryx is dead. Very, very dead. In order for an Ascendant Hive to be killed entirely, one must kill them in their ascendant realm. This explains how we killed Crota in Crota's End: we went into his Ascendant Realm and killed him. With Oryx dead, the mantle of The Taken King remains unfulfilled. We could have taken the mantle, but doing so would reject our ideology of serving the Light. Savathún or Xivu Arath could very well take the mantle. It's unlikely, but possible.

Editado por dnrobs: 3/7/2017 5:14:42 AMDidn't we kill his sisters just before him? Oh that's right his daughters.

To be fair, the only reason Oryx isn't honoring his deal with the worm posthumously is because nobody is still using ToM.

9 RespostasEditado por CIytius: 3/6/2017 2:18:33 AMIt is entirely possible for Oryx to return. I do not remember what card this game from but in the Book of Sorrows, Oryx brings his sister(Savithun, I believe) back to life by destroying a planet of some alien race. What did this, is that he killed them with trickery(the way Savithun would have killed them). Doing this somehow brought her back to life. So if one of his sisters killed a race the same way Oryx would have(this would likely involve one of the sisters having to learn to "take"), Oryx could be brought back.

There are a few more Hive gods to kill, don't worry!

3 RespostasTouch of Malice? Or the One Ring? "Oryx, the Enemy of the free peoples of Earth, was defeated... His soul passed to the Guardian, who had this one chance to destroy evil forever. But the hearts of Guardians are easily corrupted... And the Touch of Malice... has a will of its own."

4 RespostasEditado por zakkbailey: 3/6/2017 5:06:14 PMThe Hive, Taken, and Oryx in general are boring AF. I personally hope they are gone in D2.
-
1 ResponderI liked his story but I'm ready to let the hive and taken stay in destiny 1 to be honest I hope we don't see another hive dlc at all or at least until the third game in the series
-
5 RespostasCompletely. I was very disappointed with the ROI expansion I felt it should have been a continuation of the Oryx storyline. Oryx when he was defeated was obviously Taken by himself. So I felt there should have been more to the Taken Oryx story, or maybe even Nokris.

When he "took" himself at the end of the regicide mission he ceased to have any free will. While it is true that he is the taken king he does not control the deep. The deep controls him. This is why when you are fighting oryx in the raid he loses the favor of the worm gods for a small amount of time after we stagger him
