So a major selling point of the Switch is that it will finally (unlike other console iterations by Nintendo) have games developed by third party studios.
Everyone seems to be pretty happy about this.
WELL I'M -blam!-IN PISSED! Don't you dare do it Nintendo! I don't want that glorified tablet holding my games back. Sure it is powerful enough to play Skyrim (a game that is 5 years old), but if devs have to start making their games shit just so that it will be supported by Nintendo...well -blam!-.
Think of the games you enjoy like Overwatch, Titanfall 2, whatever it is...when it comes time for that game to get a sequel it is guaranteed to be worse if it has to run on Nintendo switch. The graphics will be held back. The processor will hold back the number of NPCs and in engine physics. The lag will be a really -blam!-ed up issue - there is definitely gonna be a difference in lag input when the device is docked versus undocked - devs will have to deal with this shit.
I could go on, but by now most of you should have gotten the point we all missed up front:
Once again, Nintendo will be holding back developers.
And in case you forgot...just remember how the Wii got a different version of CoD and Tony Hawk because it wasn't strong enough to support the other console versions. And the Wii was a better system.

12 RespostasGames are already being held back on the PC due to console. Now you know how we feel.
-
A year into the consoles life, developers will stop caring for it just as they did the wiiu. So this won't be a problem after a short while lol.
-
Heyheyheyheyhey guess what? Different consoles...
Have different builds for the games.
Xbox and PS4 will have better graphics than the switch, and PC will have better graphics than those two. The Food Chain of graphics. The graphics chain, if you will.
-
1 ResponderWe don't need 3 ps4s. Xbox can't even keep up with sales, why would Nintendo waist their time when they can be the party, co-op, handheld console. If I were an indie Dev, Id put all my games on the switch.

They will not be holding back developers

Editado por takun39: 1/15/2017 10:23:27 PMOr they could just not make an underpowered console. But I guess that's impossible so....
-
1 ResponderAt least Nintendo has the right idea with there games, they actually try and make their games run good instead of prioritizing graphics and damning everything else. And, no. No console is going to survive without 3rd party support, that was stupid.

Everyone seems to be pretty happy about this. WELL I'M -blam!-IN PISSED! Don't you dare do it Nintendo!
Why? Do you want it to fail? Why do you think Nintendo has failed most of the generations in the last few decades, lack of 3rd party support.
I don't want that glorified tablet holding my games back. Sure it is powerful enough to play Skyrim (a game that is 5 years old), but if devs have to start making their games shit just so that it will be supported by Nintendo...well -blam!-.
How do you think I feel about the shitty console generation?
Think of the games you enjoy like Overwatch, Titanfall 2, whatever it is...when it comes time for that game to get a sequel it is guaranteed to be worse if it has to run on Nintendo switch.
-blam!-ing why? How? What? Too many question, not enough answers.
The graphics will be held back.
There's that console mentality, that "only graphics matter" mentality. At least Nintendo is actually willing to surrender that so that they can actually make their games run at 60, something the PS2 did all the time.
The processor will hold back the number of NPCs and in engine physics.
How does this affect the entire market? Why don't these companies make multiple ports that differ from each other to combat this, or are they just that lazy?
The lag will be a really -blam!-ed up issue - there is definitely gonna be a difference in lag input when the device is docked versus undocked - devs will have to deal with this shit.
Do you know what lag input is? Do you even know what that is?
I could go on, but by now most of you should have gotten the point we all missed up front: Once again, Nintendo will be holding back developers.
Well, that's not true, is it. Most Devs completely abandon Nintendo in the first year of a launch, so anything else is just an issue with the other consoles.
And in case you forgot...just remember how the Wii got a different version of CoD and Tony Hawk because it wasn't strong enough to support the other console versions. 6 RespostasIf developers think a specific console is holding them back, they won't develop for it.

I mainly get Nintendo for exclusives they carry any other games I have my PlayStation for.
-
1 ResponderIt's Nintendo exclusives I really like. Third party is always a good thing, but I wouldn't have a Wii U if there wasn't Zelda, Mario, Smash, all that.
-
1 ResponderI strongly believe devs will just abandon the Switch much like they did the Wii and Wii U. Remember when Nintendo promised that 3rd party devs were making games for those? I remember.
-
5 RespostasIf you want to play generic shooters like Titanfall and CoD then maybe the Switch is not for you, you can already do that on your PS4 and Xbone.
-
Trust me, third party devs aren't gonna hold back for the poorest selling console as well as the poorest performing console on the market. Devs know where the big multiplayer communities are at as well and it ain't the Nintendo consoles.
-
1 ResponderLol don't worry about it man. The switch will not get the type of third party support you're suggesting. It might get a few games that have come out, but definitely not any games going forward like Red Dead, Battlefield, COD, Mass Effect- or any high budget AAA third party game. All they're gonna get is rehashed games from last gen and indies. The biggest third party game they have is over 5 years old LOL.
-
5 RespostasFrom what i've been hearing it's actualy more powerful than the standard xbox one. Might just be rumored though
-
1 ResponderAs far as Overwatch is concerned there's no amount of graphical fidelity that will hold that game back lol. Nothing about what it is doing requires a lot of processing power. As a PC player of the game it can be ran on a toaster. Also if devs want they will develop for the thing. It's just most don't bother when the work load is more than the gain. Just like how devs are moving away from last gen. This is part of why nintendo is perpetually in their position of 3rd party support. The only thing that's going to save nintendo there is the ease of porting. Which as I mentioned hardware performance is one issue. Architecture and how things are coded are another, as well as the way you interface with the game. Nintendo makes it harder for developers, and the install base isn't a great incentive a lot of the time.
-
Resident Evil 4 on Wii was the best version so it can be done. I wouldn't get too worried though - its not like Nintendo have been trying to discourage third party developers, they're just not interested cos no one (except me) has a Wii U. If the Switch sells well it'll get third party support, but its not like thats going to stop Nintendo developing its own in house titles.
-
3 RespostasI couldn't care less about the power of the Switch. Nintendo have been producing the least powerful console of the big 3 manufacturers for the past 3 generations now, and have managed to produce some acceptable visuals thanks to their low demand engines. Don't expect anything better than a portable Wii-U though, I'm not really too expectant on anything worth playing aside from BotW and Yooka Laylee.

8 RespostasEditado por Vgnut: 1/15/2017 9:57:13 PMNintendo's not holding back third party developers because third party developers won't be developing for the Switch. Been through this dance enough times to tell you your fears are for not.
-
2 RespostasYou big mad or little mad?
-
Don't worry, the switch will get as much 3rd party support as the WiiU did. It'll still be a nintendo box just as it was.
-
Developers arent going to dumb down their games across all platforms just for a few sales on Switch Seems silly to worry about. Why would they hurt their sales for Switch users?
-
The only reason to even monitor the switch is Fire Emblem Warriors.

Editado por The Quillster: 1/16/2017 2:04:11 AMToo bad Nintendo seems incapable of matching the specs of it's competitor consoles... not saying that's a bad thing as the Nintendo exclusives are often enough of a draw to get people to buy it, but if I'm going to play a new release, I'm going to play it on the more powerful console.
