Right, so this is an issue that i'm sure plenty of people have come across but i think it's time that Bungie addressed this Before Rise of Iron drops.
Me and a friend have been through 4 strikes, and for three of them we have had a player who has done nothing.
He hasn't been kicked for inactivity and seems to reactively shoot at enemies and players, should you close to him.
I can only assume he has some sort of bot, or tool that allows him to stay seen as active but he actually isn't.
This player,
[REDACTED]
Did jacksh!t until we started pushing him off the edge of a map, if we were on such a map, and then sent us a message telling us to "f*ck off".
We have reported the bell end but nonetheless, this needs to be sorted and i think the best option would be to vote kick players.

Will never happen because it would be abused. I'd kick people all the the time with a friend just for shits.

The 'vote to kick' method is, in my mind, something that is nearly impossible to implement for a couple of reasons- 1. If the main point of this is for strikes, what is to stop 2 people from being in a fire team and kicking the third person right as they get to the boss? 2. Also, what if somebody needs to go to the bathroom right as a strike boss is reached or are getting something ready outside of the game for the first 30 seconds of a match. While I understand the frustration of dealing with afk players, the solution isn't really that appealing when you consider what could happen.

20 RespostasI want an option to kick active players then. If I get kicked because I got up to get a drink real quick, or stopped a baby from pulling a TV on herself. Something that literally takes less than a minute and you just can't wait.. Then I want the option to kick people who just run straight though strikes to get to the boss. Now I know what they are doing and I'm fine with that but most times they run ahead and die so I have to spawn next to them, usually meaning I can't go back and kill the aliens. Which is something i like to do. Alot of the time I'll be doing that when those people rush ahead and purposely get them selves killed. Pisses me off. So yes. I could be ready to play when the match starts and you don't have to rush to the end. Give us options for both.

Been saying this since year one. It works in left 4 dead, should work here. And even if there are people that just go through and try to troll by kicking randoms make it a vote option, just like L4d.
-
Step 1 whip out sparrow Step 2 push absent player against a hard surface Step 3 boost directly into him at short range Step 4 revive Step 5 repeat unti the a hole starts playing
-
Sorry but that is a -blam!-ing retarded idea players would kick random people just to be dicks so -blam!- that idea

1 ResponderMy vote is to just give an option to remove matchmaking. I would always have it turned off. 85% of the time I double the kills combined of the other two players I'm with in almost every PvE matchmade nonsense anyway so why should I be forced to carry scrubs when I can easily solo in the same amount of time
-
Me and my friend would troll inactive players or people trying to get carried and let them finish the mission for us but we would sabotage them at every turn. Sliding into them while they're sniping so they miss shots, dropping bubbles or blocking with a sword in front of them while they shoot rockets. Drop bubbles on the boss to protect him from harm. Let that chump trying to get carried kill every enemy, we would try not to make orbs. If they somehow died, we would wipe. Rinse and repeat. Of course we would report and block them but man, it felt great.

11 RespostasYou are entirely correct, however to boot an inactive would be virtually impossible. Here's what I mean: let's say two friends are playing and a third wants to team up. Well the two just say, ok we will boot the third random. Obviously you may say, oh I wouldn't do that, but some would. Your next option is for you two to leave the strike and go into a new playlist and lose the inactive player and start over. The biggest issue with that is losing the strike bonus. The easiest way to fix this is give a timer to return to strikes if you leave. I've been saying this for a long time. Regardless if you have inactive player or you need to do something quickly, I think the bonus should have 5-10 minutes to return to strikes to KEEP strike bonus. That way if you get an inactive player, leave the strike and start over with no problems. If you need to do something and need a 2 minute break, no problem. Like if you like this idea.

4 RespostasEditado por I Need That Head: 8/8/2016 9:18:24 PMMakes sense, by doing so, it'll cut down their AFK time. So let's say it usually takes 5 minutes to get kicked; by pressing the "kick for idle" option, their time will be cut down to 20 seconds. If they move, well then they can stay.

1 ResponderWe need an Option to kick hunters.

Editado por More Cowbell: 8/8/2016 7:26:29 PMI don't run strikes anymore, but agree with your post as PoE is unbearable due to afk a-hats. As far as I'm concerned, afk pve players are as bad as pvp cheaters. I also think there should be an option to ignore matchmaking when it is available.
-
Bump. I had someone a couple weeks ago that made his controller stuck so he would walk forward the entire time. me and the other random finished the malock strike and the afk guy was still there in the next strike which was the fallen saber. I positioned him so that he would walk of the edge and his ghost spawned right next to me so i could just revive him and watch him fall again. I did that about 60 times before he finally did something.

Editado por Ceramic_Knight1: 8/8/2016 6:10:12 PMYou stayed in the lobby with him for 3 games? That's your problem. Of course there's no way having the ability to kick randoms in a strike could ever be abused. That's not something this community would ever consider doing.
-
The way I used to boot players was message them to join fire team or Xbox party. If they joined I would ask them if they wanted to join my fire team cause after the strike we are going to raid or do trials and need a third. Players used to join 80% of the time, now they are smarter. But if they join, kick them from strike and party.

This type of thing is very open to abuse, so I'd have to say no. What would be a much better option (though possibly more technically difficult to implement) is to simply make the matchmaking optional. Meaning, you can just turn it off, and only members of your fireteam are put into the strike. This would solve multiple problems. 1) Randoms can't join, so no more inactive players. 2) No more waiting for that last friend of yours who takes 300% longer than normal humans to make whatever ultra-complicated sandwich he wants to eat. Just start up and he can join the fireteam later when he's done. 3) Some people (myself included) would love the challenge of being able to solo heroic strikes again, especially now that they have modifiers that make it a little more fun to grind them out.
-
There really should be. If your character doesn't move for a minute I should be allowed to boot you.

2 RespostasSo much crap on other threads for auto matchmaking for raids and now this!??? No salvation for the cursed I suppose!

Reduce inactivity timer. Implement proximity alert that starts the inactivity timer if a player doesn't join the same zone as the two others within a specific time. No activity completion loot for said freeloader if they don't meet specific criteria as they drag heels through the activity.
-
I've thought about this a lot, and I think it would be better to vote to decrease the inactivity kick timer
-
As much as i would love this, theres too many little children who would abuse it. The only way it would work is if they did it somehow so it couldnt be abused by little shits who just think its funny to boot others.
-
Editado por TrulyDontCare: 8/8/2016 12:54:17 AMI'm all for it. They could easily do it in a fair way too. We could report somebody as inactive, then a timer could start. If they don't respond within a set short period of time, they get booted. That way, the people who say they have to leave for minute can still stay in (as long as their teammates don't mind), but we could boot the people who are just being assholes. It doesn't need to be any more complicated than that, IMO. It's a pretty simple and fair solution.
