When Low KDR = Being a Good Dad
I have a 6 and 8 year old who play my account. My 8 year old hovers around a .5 KDR to maybe getting one kill. My 6 year old gets a kill about every 3 games. Hi favorite play style is the "punch people in the face game mode". So why does everyone look at KDR? Well because most of you don't have kids or if you do you don't let them play Destiny. You all should try it. Be a good dad or mom or uncle or aunt and let those kids impress you with how much fun Destiny is.
In the mean time... I don't want to group with you either if you discriminate against people who have a low KRD. No hard feelings. I just like grouping with people who are a bit more accepting and social.

I am sorry for trolling your post, but I have kids of my own, and I won't let them play this game till they can understand the difference between good and bad. I too have a 6 year old son, he's definitely not ready to start contemplating the finality of death, nor is any other 6 year old. Edit = too many people being ignorant idiots. Why is media age related? Because some of it has been shown to be unsuitable for certain age groups, hence why things have age ratings. We all have a pretty long life and plenty of time to contemplate the complexities of life and death, we do not need it put upon us during childhood. Let kids be kids, get them outside, exploring nature, not sat in front of a murderous game.

I disagree. I wouldn't let my 7 year old go into a pvp match unless it was against AI or he goes in with a full fireteam and their blessing. With my SBMM not only would he get crushed but it wouldn't be fair to my teammates trying to win. I let my kid run around on patrols though.

My kids are grown, youngest is 16, but if they were younger I'd let them play Destiny. This game is not that bad as far as violence. Just look at GTA or Doom where you see blood gushing on screen, or carjacking. Don't mind the negative comments, People like that will cry about how violent Destiny is and kids shouldn't see it but, will post pictures of aborted babies on freeway bridges for the entire population to see. Judge not lest ye be judged. That is written somewhere, right? Oh yeah, the bible isn't it. A little off topic, but after reading some responses I had to say something. Kids today are exposed to so much violence in the news and television shows, including cartoons. I watched looney toons when I was a kid, and never thought once about shoving a rifle into anyone's face to see if they're feathers were numbered.

This is awesome. I have an 8 month old myself. Sometimes she'll sit in her bouncer and watch me play, or in my lap and play with me (same as Street Fighter V). Sometimes she gets the controller, or I'm just more focused on quality time with her. More times than not though, she decides to get hungry or poop in the midst of a match, and with no pause, it's either quit the match or lay idle to go perform fatherly duties. At the end of the day, it may (in a lot of cases) demonstrate some correlation to skill. But it's still just an arbitrary number that adds no value to one's life or self worth.

Not sure how destiny equates to being a good dad Only thing I can personally see destiny possibly teaching anyone is how to lose with humility. Even then any physical sports will do a [u]much better job [/u] of that

I like this post. I am not surprised to find an abundant amount of salt in these replies but I personally think that you are a great dad. As other people have pointed out, you could be letting your kids play a game that's actually inappropriate for kids. Instead, you let them just mess around in the crucible (a tame setting compared to other game's pvps and by definition of the lore it is simply a training ground). I am certain that your kids are enjoying harmless fun and it is truly great that video games allow people to bond together. No matter the age or the person. I think people on these forums have forgotten what it was like to just have fun

My missus used to play alot in y1 and sometimes she would do ok, sometimes not (cbmm). Now she hates it and when she does play she can't get a grip (sbmm). Point is there should definitely be at least some sort of social playlist for people just to jump in and play casually. Imagine I have a friend over and I'm trying to get him into destiny, their not going to have a very enjoyable experience in this current state of sweatiness.

I think I played against your 6 year during Iron Banner. There was a Hunter just moving in circles, aiming at his feet, usually in a corner near where he had just spawned. I had to laugh. Naturally, that team lost.

7 RespostasLol at these people who say "how come you're letting a child play this game?". My daughter turns 20 next month and she grew up gaming with me and we spent endless hours at the skateparks. Hell I even took her to a Papa Roach concert when she was 10! She's a great kid who isn't afraid of real world shit cause I didn't hide her from it. She works fulltime and maintains a 4.0 in college, plus she's a great person. Dads, show your kids what the real world is like so they don't rebel and turn into druggie 420 losers!

Bambi, Beauty and the Beast, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Lets see, murder, next up love, betrayal, murder and then love, betrayal, poisoning, and kissing a sleeping girl. Any of these movies makes Destiny look like a peaceful wonderland. So to all the awesome parents putting down the op, shut the hell up and walk the walk.
