You want to know why the graph shows the MIDA WAY up the top? Why the 1000-Yard Stare is a mile in front of everything else? These weapons are at the top for one reason, overpowered? Not at all, its laughable that this is even a possible answer.
No the reason behind why these weapons are at the top of your graphs is because you have nerfed every single other weapon and ability into the floor that forces us, the players to use these weapons. Scouts & Snipers were the only only guns untouched, scouts still technically so from your poor nerf hammer.
Scouts & Snipers are fine the way they currently are, they just SEEM overpowered because we have no choice but to use them because fusion rifles are terrible, sidearms are meh, there is no primary that can compete with a Sniper, hell even at close range its possible beat a primary with a sniper which is laughable.
Now the changes to Snipers are kind of ok, but personally I would just preferred if instead of bringing everything down to the same low boring level, you would inject a bit of power into the game. For example, our supers ... Don't even feel like supers anymore, just fancy coloured Guardians saying hey look at me, with very little abilities to them.
I don't feel like a Guardian anymore, just feel like a beaten down kid who had all this potential but it was all squandered because their elders mistreated them, the same way your dealing with the Guardians. Its sad how much potential your throwing away Bungie, it really is :( wish you would just make the correct decisions and stop catering to the crying PVP community.
Im not hating on the PVP community, I respect their wishes are as waranted as the PVE community, but our voices should be heard and treated equally. The PVP game and PVE game need to be seperated, what is broken and overpowered in PVP but fine in PVE shouldn't cause the PVE side to suffer and vice versa.
Ill give you a scenario, imagine the Gjallarhorn from year 1 power levels ... on a Primary / Special in PVE its brokenly good ok? Now its fine in PVP though, its not broken at all, in fact its a gun that people enjoy using, similar to the MIDA at the present moment. Im gonna ask a question, how would the PVP community feel if Bungie nerfed that perfectly balanced and fun gun to use in PVP into the floor because it was broken in PVE? Somehow I doubt it would have been changed in PVP.
Edit: Brilliant feedback in the comments below, very sensible and civilized, its why I love this community. Keep them coming guys, hopefully the message will get across to Bungie <3

No 1k was populair fot its potential to 1shot en spawnkill everything. mide is a great snipercounterer with a great time to kill. It even flinched all the friking light out of those gaudians. All other weapens dont get a chance to shine beguise indeed there are better opition and destiny is on his way for a better crusible. Its actally getting greater every time bungie releases a patch.

16 RespostasEditado por sergantsnipes05: 4/9/2016 8:59:59 PMThe thing is, while I love me some PVE and it gets a large amount of the marketing attention, a lot of players are trying to act like PVP should play second fiddle to PVE. PVE gets people in the door, PVP gets them to stay during content droughts. Its how most games like this work and a lot of other MMO's function the same as well. My personal opinion on PVE balance is there really hasn't been anything that I've noticed changing PVE in any meaningful way due to PVP nerfs. Shotguns have been being balanced differently since February of last year, fusions got a buff to damage against non guardian enemies, Pulse rifles got changes to where the PVP nerf wouldn't effect the PVE nerf. Sure some subclasses got hit a bit too hard like sunbreaker, cauterize could use a slight buff to a 1.5 second cool down and most of the roaming supers could use a damage buff to non guardian enemies

True pve&pvp weapons need2b separated completely. I always felt that the point of having crucible gear&weapons were strictly meant for that nothing else&that would help bungie find what the problem is. So by allowing all weapons2b used n any game mode -blam!-ed it up. Example:1. A shotgun that does extra bonus damage2the fallen, should not b allowed2b used n pvp...where r the fallen n pvp. 2 now this weapon with this perk might b Slightly overpowered n pvp bcuz of other possible perks, so they say nerf it, it is a unfair advantage over other players. 3. & hence now this nerfed weapon with its fallen pvp perk is now utterly useless n both. &that is reasonable why the list of weapons will b4ever broken or nerfed bcuz bungie won't wake up&seperate the2.

54 RespostasEditado por STARKILLER2258: 4/8/2016 9:37:57 AMThe fact that they even LOOK at graphs to see what is being used like a bunch of psychotic control freaks pretty much tells you all you need to know why the game is going to shit. I swear to Christ games going "online" was probably the worst thing that could have happened. This was my first on line game in 35 years of playing games, and its been an eye opener. I remember the days when somebody made a great game, left you alone with it, you played, became powerful, and practically wore out your console replaying the game. Not now, noooo, they got to f*ck with it, and tweak it, and control it, and suck every last bit of fun out of it. As an old world gamer I think this new style of gaming blows ass. great to play with people, but bad letting the douchtools into your game to mess with it..

3 RespostasWeapons are overused due to the rotating meta. Bungie gives us incentive to use a couple of classes of weapons because they are the most competitive. Then they don't like that we're using those weapons. Are you Bi-polar Bungie? I haven't seen such a stupid stance on ANYTHING in my entire life since I got out of Jr. High and stopped dealing with stupid teenie bopper girls who don't know what they want. This form of "balancing" is as stupid as having your girlfriend call you at 2 in the morning just to give you the silent treatment.... This is why PVE and PVP need to be entirely separated. We should be allowed to keep fun/powerful weapons in PVE, regardless of the whining that goes on in PVP.

1 ResponderWhen their nerfing erode the mountains down to plains, and plains into crevasses, the low hills, untouched, begin to feel the wind.

I'd moreorless agree. There are some fundamental flaws in Bungie's balance philosophy. I've considered creating a thread on the matter, and I may still do so. Still, it essentially boils down to tow main points: 1. Bungie brings things down in power to 'balance' them making them not fun to use, rather than increasing the potency of underused items. As you said, thread maker. But there's another part to the problem, and that is... 2. Bungie's philosophy is to create an ever changing meta, rather than a balanced meta. So they have opted for the route of patching the game to nerf/buff certain items so players will use different things every few months. They believe this keeps the game 'fresh.' Instead, I personally believe the philosophy should be to bring all the items to a good potency, making them all viable, and only making tweaks when something loses its viability. This would allow players to use different items based on their playstyle rather than based on what is 'best.' That second point is the one that irritates me the most, personally. It's a fundamental flaw in Bungie's design.

6 RespostasMy feelings exactly! Every time I get a decent weapon it gets nerfed along with all the time and effort I put in to acquire it. Watching all our hard work get destroyed is NOT fun. This is a video game and video games should be FUN! 2.0 was kinda the last straw with the Gally and Icebreaker nerfs, but I held on and bought TTK hoping things would improve.....but all I got was more nerfed weapons and hard work pissed down the drain.
-
Read a bit. couldnt pay attention.. I think you missed one though.. Items were easily obtained. from vendor or Xur. Mida was sold by Xur. 1k stare? You could buy that from the Vanguard Quartermaster (Think thats the right one. it was over by the ship gal.)

*rolls dice* Come on scout/fusion meta!!
-
There would be be no need to nerf anything if they buffed guardians health. That way weapons still inflict the same damage and other weapons can be brought up.
-
Sidearms arnt meh, :( my sidearm has gotten me out of tons of trouble, I wish there was more verity in them tho

Well said

I agree that you say because they've nerfd things to the ground but honestly I think people just lack skill so they complain and ask for nerfs or buffs. Because I always use hawkmoon for PvP and trials and I destroy people. But others wanted a buff. That buff is only gonna help me more and I have proof if you want my trials come back.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if those were doctored figures to just justify changes they were making.

8 RespostasI HUGE BUMP. The maJor reason the guns are ranking on the usage scale is - 1 - they nerfed all viable competitive options. Example Mida is the same as ever but now can compete at all ranges but super close. It's excelling because it's a good round gun. It's never changed? Never been buffed or nerfed ? All options were removed making it excel. 2 - they gave everyone the same op sht A> sniper (1000 yard stare) and B> - shotgun (consp theory d) I'm not saying that everyone shouldn't get these guns - far from it. But they killed all variety and removed reforge like fcking amateurs, only to give everyone access to one op option. Guess what people are going to take? Same with the quillims. Bretonars stand wouldn't piss it. 55 back up rounds Unseeing eye has never dropped with good perks for me. Leaving few year two options. Bungie needs to sort it out......

4 RespostasEditado por TheShadow: 4/9/2016 2:03:07 AMAnything from this day on that is used the most will get nerfed. This nerf train Bungie created will never stop and PvE will always pay for it. Expecially since Bungie stated they won't separate the balance. Keep up the great work Bungie ;)

2 RespostasEditado por StrawbeeMilk: 4/9/2016 7:02:30 AMI do like how Bungie are trying to balance the PvP because let's face it, it is unbalanced. The PvP is fun to play, seeing those golden numbers come from the top of guardians heads from a sniper headshot is satisfying. But these recent class and weapon changes still affect the PvE which is really disappointing. I play Destiny for the PvE side. I love every week finding a group of friends or a random LFG group to run the raid because it is fun. I don't want to be hampered in PvE when the problem is CLEARY PvP. I don't play this game because I feel obliged to, I play this game because it is enjoyable. I liked the new mechanics that have been put into the game since Taken King and I really believe that Destiny will (one day) become an even greater game like its predecessors. Lot's of people complain. Every time a new patch comes out loads go back on what they were just arguing against. e.g. "Ghorn is too OP for PvP and PvE." *Nerfs Ghorn*. "Bring Ghorn back to its former glory." "Destiny sucks because they don't listen to their playerbase." - See my point. I really liked the old days. I ran a VOG the other day to get the No Time to Explain and we 5 manned it which is no impressive feat but it gave back great nostalgia. Killing Atheon and opening that exotic chest reminded me of some pretty let's say "enthusiastic times." Now I am not defending Bungie nor am I attacking it. I am just saying that Destiny is a good game, it has its flaws that are slowly (slowly) being ironed out and it has its awesome moments. This community is awesome as well as being toxic. We are all individuals yet we are all a part of this expanding world of Destiny. Thanks Bungie and the Destiny community for being a part of this great game! :)
