Why this Twitch Studio is a good thing (And other positive Bungie things)

First of all, this is me going on about some positive things. I know, crazy right? But we need some positivity up in here for once. Okay, so I've seen a lot of people moan about how Bungie never communicate with us. So imagine my surprise when I enter here, read an update about how they plan to stream more, and then see a thread about how stupid this is. Well, I'm not one for sucking Bungie's Dick and I think there are a lot of issues with this game that need fixing. Like a LOT. Too many to list. But I think so far, since the CEO change Bungie are starting (STARTING being the key word) to go in the right direction. Let's look at what has happened since the CEO change: We get a roadmap. (Not much of one but it's there.) We get an apology for Crimson Doubles Shell drops AND a Garanteed 320 Ghost as a way of saying sorry. We get Bungie saying they intend to stream more and therefore communicate more with it's players. Bungie hires a writer from the Mass Effect Series (Opnions on this may vary depending on thoughts on Mass Effect but I see hiring a writer from there as a positive.) So far, since the CEO change, most of what Bungie has done has been positive. Can you imagine Bungie giving us 320 Ghosts even a month ago, or deciding to stream more? And I will admit, the long road to this point has been full of utter shit. But since this occured, most of everything has been positive. Now most will say it's either a coincidence all this occuring at once, or a futile attempt to prevent people going over to The Division. And they may well be right for all we know. But whatever the reason, it's a improvement. And while it's NOT perfect, it's a step in the right direction and a breath of fresh air after all the money at the screen comments and the nerfs. Now, onwards to why I think this Twitch Studio is a good thing: 1: Better communication: ASSUMING that we can avoid PR gaffs like the Vault Space Questions Incident which made everyone cringe and focus on REAL questions (Which may be hard with spam and not real questions), this will allow a open and direct line to the devs. This is important since we can get info directly, find out game plans, and call Bungie out on Bullshit and make our voices heard without question. 2: Something might slip if we are lucky: You know how Bungie are always tight lipped about updates? Much harder to do with a live stream. Many a time in other livestreams for other games, something slipped that should not have. If we luck out we might find something good, or find out about something bad before it happens. 3: More openess: Like they say not everything will be a big reveal. But what it WILL lead to is a more open community. Having some actual faces rather then Deej behind a screen may lead to more openess on Bungie's part. 4: Sneak peeks at updates: We know nothing about the march update. But with streaming, they can show us such updates without worry. Now, a few things that need to be avoided. 1: Forced comedy: Noone laughed at the Vault Space Gag from home Bungie. We wanted real questions not constant Vault Space Questions. Natural comedy is OK, Forced comedy is not. 2: Avoid PR Bullshit as much as possible: PLEASE don't focus on hyping us up. Let the product do the hype. Show us things, but don't sugercoat everything in a PR sauce, because PR Sauce tastes like bullshit and does not go down well. Be open and helpful, DON'T be suits. 3: Show us as much as you can: I always got annoyed when you planned to show us things and ran out of time or focused on comedy vault space. Show as much as possible. 4: ANSWER QUESTIONS: Be open. Be nice. Pick the best ones. Pick some hard ones. TLDR: Bungie are STARTING to go in a better direction thouh are not fully there yet, Twitch Studio may be a good thing if they don't -blam!- up.

 • An entire weekly update to tell us that? They could have put this on the forums. This is the reason people don't read them anymore. It is nearly March and we still have no idea when the PVE update is coming out, what will be in it, how much of a light level increase will it be? Some answers isn't much to ask really, even if they just say when they will release the next PVE update I would be fine with that.
