You have to figure something out that caters to both PvE and PvP players.
It's so sad. It's like PvP players are completely oblivious to the fact that some people do not play Crucible, Iron Banner, and Trials of Osiris.
These people are the ones who enjoy PvE content a lot more and will need that quick revive in a nightfall, strike, mission, or raid.
I see exactly why PvE players get mad when people call for a nerf. Some guns used to be great but are now useless in PvE. Why? Because Bungie actually listens to the communities complaints and little whines that go around the community.
Destiny has truly got to shit because of the PvP players. And it will continue to dig itself in a deeper hole to cater to those who play Crucible instead of finding a way to fix it.
And whose fault is this overall? Bungie's of course. With their lack of PvE content overall, leaving us in the dark with live events every now and then, they are actually struggling to keep up. That's why Crucible and PvP players have become such a big problem. This game will continue to break down as long as they are focused on PvP and as long as they aren't differentiating exotics and legendaries for each individual instead if just the weapon itself.
Every time they buff or nerf something, it's a redesign to that whole class of weapon. I hope Destiny 2 is fixed with this sorry game.

PvE is easy... It's literally done once a week, and then forgotten about. A very small amount of people run the raid, nightfall's, or strikes just for fun. A very large amount of players play pvp for fun. Catering to the largest active group is business as usual.

PvP doesn't have 'a very large amount of players' anymore. Did a lot of people play crucible after Taken King and the previous DLCs released? Yes, but with the shrinking audience pool, the lag has increased lately with less and less players being spread farther out and matched up against each other. However, by now anyone who considers themselves a PvP player has moved on to better games with actual online balance and smoother gameplay. Destiny is never going to be a serious destination for gamers looking for an awesome PvP game mode. Unless something changes in a big way in Destiny 2 and they add dedicated servers, I don't see it changing any time soon. Going and doing PvP in a game like Black Ops, and then heading into the crucible only highlights how slow the online gameplay really is

Sorry but I thought Bungie could have done better by giving PvE players more content. That's what their game should be all about. Perhaps they could actually focus on giving us some good content.

Can we have stats please? I'd love to see a spread sheet in lieu on an opinion.

If only I worked for bungie, but I can provide you with this... Go to twitch and see how many viewers someone streaming PVE has vs someone streaming pvp. That's a pretty good indicator of what people consider fun about the game. During trials streamers like luminosity48, or Gothalion will reach over 5k viewers. During challenge mode popular streamers like giggle monster struggle to break 1k.
-
Well what about the thousand of other players that are heavy pve players hat don't stream? Just because people stream their pvp because they want attention doesn't really mean more people pvp. It's just the most popular to stream. Often the people who do stream raid pve stuff are the people who are doing things not many other people can do, I.e soloing oryx stuff like that. PvP is more enjoyable to watch as opposed to killing patterned AI's. Kinda like watching football in the sense. Would you want to watch them tackle their training gear? Or other people. Nothing personal, I just have a pet peeve for lack of data, and when there is another side that people don't wanna see nor consider. I like to be able to argue all sides.
-
Another note to consider... If PvE really was the backbone of destiny, they would cater to it more. They just simply would. Look at games like WoW, that have a very vocal pvp community, yet never get what they ask for because the PVE community is the vast majority.

My opinion is generated by the hundreds of people I have on my friends list, and my countless thousands of hours playing this game. PvE is big the first week or so of the expansion, then it's literally a routine that you perform because you have to in order to get the best gear. Once you have done your weekly raid and nightfall you don't continue to run it over and over and over just because you think it's so amazingly fun that you can't stop! Yet, people do play pvp because it's so much fun they can't stop! Out of the hundreds of people I have played this game with, less then ten are PVE only(and they don't play the game after the raid had been completed, they play other games until reset)
-
Maybe the age range of the players I play with and the players you play with differ. The majority of the people I play with are older who like the pve aspects of the game and don't really care or only have time to do one or the other. Either way without stats it's merely subjective.

Editado por PsivenJR: 12/29/2015 11:26:58 AMI'm 32 ;) My friends are around my age. You don't need to be young to have a competitive spirit. You just made a comment that leads to what I refer too. "or only have time to do one or the other". This is exactly it, I agree. The people I know that only PvE often play the game so little that they can't be competitive in pvp and therefore find no enjoyment in doing it. As a company, whose complaint weighs more? The customer who spends 3-6 hours a week on your game, or the customer who spends 20-40 hours a week?

Editado por Ske1tl-l: 12/29/2015 11:53:02 AMI see where you're going with that and with the interest of the business on the line how many people of our age ( being 29 myself) make up the population of destiny? Not nearly as much as the teen population is assume considering the amount of free time that they have. As Bungie does, nerfing this for pvp aspects and nerfing that, in time our piece of the pie chart will vanish. Why play a Game for PvE when It's catered to PvP? The people that'll mostly likely stick around are the PvPers. Which you assumed, makes up for most of the gameplay. I'd assume they'd want all the players they can get. Also I guess another question is would you rather cater to mass at the moment? Or cater to the part of the population that'll stick around for its PvE and grinding aspects of the game? Both is obviously the answer.
