I've seen a lot of hate and a lot of love on the new announcement. I'm just gonna leave it at this.
This is the first unidiotic unbiased poll I've seen on it.
In case anyone is wondering where it says free content, here are some links i found on it.

Edit: 100 + replies already? Dang.
Seems like the majority of people agree that they are fine with it so long as it stays selling purely cosmetic items.
Edit 2: 250 replies! Didn't think it'd get up there like that but sweet. Still seems like the same consensus so far.
Also, really little hate? Nice to go through a forum and not have people bashing one another's opinions for a change.
Edit 3: you guys are killing my phone battery with these notifications...

As long as it's forever cosmetic
-
As long cosmetic only: perfectly fine. Pay to win sucks (D3 early days).
-
Provided it stays at cosmetics, I don't care

1 ResponderI don't think you know what unbiased means. An unbiased poll would have three basic choices that don't try and sway an answer. This choices should be... 1. Good 2. Bad 3. No opinion. As soon as you add the choice "good for free dlc" or "bad it's now pay to win" your creating the possibility for a biased result due to reinforcing the Yes selection with a positive and the No selection with a negative.
-
Voting for option 1 is basically an are you a communist test.
-
As far as free DLC goes, all those links are speculation. Until I hear it from Bungie I'm not buying into it. Besides, one of those sites has reported BS stories from "people close to Bungie" before.
-
2 RespostasA far as microtransactions go, paying for cosmetic items isn't too much of a big deal, in my opinion.
-
If there is some shaders worth buying, the yes. Otherwise it's indifferent.
-
2 RespostasCan't vote, bad poll. "It's now pay to win?" That isn't a logical statement for what is reality with this instance of micro transactions. Poll is void.
-
1 ResponderSign for the "I FÛCKING HATE IT" option
-
1 ResponderIt depends on how much they are pricing these emotes. If the emotes all together cost more than the dark below dlc or house of wolves dlc I feel like Activision and bungie are ripping us off and taking advantage of their true fans who really want to buy these emotes
-
1 ResponderReally just want some more shaders
-
If it sticks to just emotes and possibly shaders down the line, I'll have no problem with it. If they start selling faster sparrows or weapons/armor we'll have a problem.
-
1 ResponderOther: I don't believe it'll pave the way for a FREE DLC but it also won't make Destiny "pay to win" for having it. People on these forums are making way too big a deal for cosmetic items (which multiple games use just fine).
-
those voting good and will be free dlc are idiots there will not be any free dlc. not with ATI as the publisher of this game.
-
1 ResponderAfter paying $40 dollars for this dlc I never thought they'd be hungry for more but I guess people paid the $20 premium for emotes so they thought there are enough idiots that will actually throw their money at the screen. If it stays cosmetic it's fine but I'm against their greedy ideas in principle.
-
9% of people are inbred.
-
1 ResponderI'd rather not have microtransactions in any kind of AAA game but this is kind of an innocuous entry. It's easy to imagine some kind of distopian future where Rahool is selling engram packs for $5 or Xur sells premium 310 exotics but this simply isn't what it is. I'll be the first to spam this board if any kind of power can be gained from paying premium. I truly hope it stays at emotes just because they're a new entry. Things like emblems and shaders should be in game unlocks.
-
1 ResponderDestiny is now pay-to-win confirmed. Dank dance moves = tons of fun = winning While all these poor noobs are stuck in hammer time or the electric boogaloo, (or worse, launch emotes), Imma be breaking it down like a true G, serving up all these haters something fierce!
-
IF this leads to regular free content updates, okay, but I'm not hopeful.
-
1 ResponderCorrect me if I'm wrong, but didn't bungie state around sometime in year 1 that " Destiny will not have micro transactions or pay for membership" Im sure i heard that somewhere
-
1 ResponderThanks for the first unbiased poll about this. It's nice to see those who are fighting it are a smaller population

2 RespostasIn light of the recent news on micro transactions I came up with an ingenious idea while running strikes with my mates. After running heroic strikes with my mates and getting butt dangler, after butt dangler (Titan mark) an idea popped into my head. Bungee should sell di*k danglers. How sweet would it be if they were to combine a hip thrust emote with a sparkling di*k dangler. Better yet throw in a customizable feature I.e spinning money symbol. Can you envision the tears that would flow from fallen guardians who were immediately greeted with a foe guardian hip thrusting with a di*k dangler over their orb. I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

From a theoretical perspective they are good, they will fund the next years worth of content and will hopefully mean more content is added more often. In practice it's a different story though; mainly because the chances that Bungie will be able to fund the next year of developing with only cosmetic items is really low. Sure they will sell a ton of emotes at first, but after a couple weeks there will be a drop off; this will lead to selling ships, shaders, emblems, etc... After each of those has lost their popularity Bungie will be forced to either take a step back and begin releasing paid DLC again, which would infuriate everyone expecting free content; or they will resort to selling items that will effect gameplay, e.g. boosters, strange coins, and possibly even gear. If Bungie keeps their word and delivers regular updates with new content while only offering cosmetic items I will be impressed and will support them entirely; but history has taught me that there are high chances that Destiny may eventually become pay to win.
-
Those 9% need to learn what pay to win means. But I think it's going to be a good thing as long as it stays on cosmetics. The minute they start selling weapons and armor is when it becomes a pay to win scenario.
-
5 RespostasI think it's bad, but the poll says Destiny is "now" pay to win. It's not currently pay to win, but this might be the first step towards it. If they continue to only sell emotes and vanity items, I could care less. However, I believe they'll eventually add things equivalent to Three of Coins, or sell armor packs that include a chance at high level gear, or maybe even resource/glimmer packs. On the surface those things don't seem all that bad... but if you look a little deeper, it will lead to fewer players on patrol, fewer players farming, and fewer players available to accomplish difficult tasks such as the Court of Oryx. But like I said, if it stays limited to cosmetic & vanity items... I could care less. Go buy your sick dance moves. I'll be over here doing the exo robot and pointing at things.
